Hi there, I'm a 29 year old Mum of two (Amber 2yrs & Finn 4mths) relocating to Somerset (hopefully b4 end of the summer) most probably Tauton, but have never been there in my life - so many questions, so little time. Would love to know more about area; where's good v where's bad, Good schools v bad schools - general advice really. Help?

Hi mia, don't be freaked i'm not a stalker honestly

I don't know if you'll remember me.
I had ds2 with me (2yrs) and also childmind so always had another 2 yr old boy with me aswell. I have dark blond hair am quite skinny and have 2 older children who are at school.

I do remember chatting to you but can't remember about what!!

i'm going there tomorrow if you're around, if you see me i'm sure you'll remember me!

MiaWallace · 14/03/2007 21:48

Think I've worked out who you are. Is your husband in the forces? Does your ds's name begin with a D?

ambercat · 14/03/2007 21:53

yes!! thats me!

Would be good to see you again if you ever get time to come back

MiaWallace · 14/03/2007 22:01

Yay, it like playing Guess Who.

I had to stop going because I have college classes on a Thursday.

To be honest I was always rather intimidated by all you stylish ladies. I feel like I've made an effort if my clothes are clean, my hair is brushed and I'm wearing matching socks

ambercat · 14/03/2007 22:10

I really don't feel like a stylish lady at all lol, don't be intimidated, i'm sure everyone there would love to see you again, its still the same faces week after week!

Hows your course going, do you find it hard studying with dd running around the place?

MiaWallace · 14/03/2007 22:14

Was a nightmare at the begining with my arm in plaster. Not so bad now.

The real test will come in October when I start at Exeter Uni.

btw, take it from me you are definatly stylish and you figure is way to gorgeous for a mother of three

ambercat · 14/03/2007 22:19

Thanks mia

will look out for you on here if i don't see you in rl.

Am off to watch desperate housewives now if i can stay awake!

Blimey, just switched puter on and seen how many mumsnetters live in Taunton, freaky and also a little nervous like the rest of you. Its so easy to sit behind a screen and type away to strangers but to think I may know some of you is weird (although you all sound lovely! I am in the Staplegrove area so close to the town which is great to able to walk in when I am feeling fit. I dont attend any groups though. Did with DD1 but havent with DD2 as havent really mingled with other mums much. Well guys its great there is a group of us Tauntonions about and hope one day we will all have the courage to have a get together!

MiaWallace · 15/03/2007 01:21

How old are your dc Winston?

Winston · 15/03/2007 09:38

Blimey, you were up late Mia! DC are 3.5 and 1. What about yours? Are you going to tell me you know me now??

MiaWallace · 15/03/2007 12:51

Dd has a chest infection so didn't get to bed till almost 3 [yawn]

Dd is almost 2. Strange to think so many of us maybe waiting at the same school gates in a few years time.

Winston · 15/03/2007 20:18

Hope you get better nights sleep tonight Mia and DD chest infection clears up soon. Seems really weird so many of us live in the same town! Hope to chat on here again

Just stumbled across this thread, I live near Taunton too (Peachyclair, the view from my house is of the levels ) but don't go into town much as it's a bit of a nightmare parking and getting myself organised with 2 LOs.

I grew up here and went to Heathfield school which wasn't great when I was there but is supposed to be one of the best now, don't know much about the primary schools though as I don't know many people who live in town and have that age children. My brother says Priorswood school isn't that good and his children are much happier at Trinity now that they've moved to Holway.

Blackbrook is a good place to live if you commute on the motorway and there are always loads of houses for sale or rent there.

MiaWallace · 16/03/2007 15:24

Moosma, wish you was right about loads of houses being for sale in Blackbrook. That's one of the areas we are looking to buy in, but haven't had no luck yet.
