Hi girls. I am Alison and live in Hadleigh. I am 32 and have a ds called Oliver who is just 2. I have recently discovered that I am pg, due in October. I work full time so don't know many people in the area despite being here for 3 years.

Hi Heidi!

My husband and I are moving because we want our daughter to grow up in the countryside and Stowmarket is close enough for him to commute.

How long have you guys lived in Stowmarket? To be honest we know barely anything about the area apart from how close it is to London!!

Do I take it you are a full time mother or does your daughter attend a creche? I look after our daughter full time so it will be nice to get to know other mothers such as yourself and also playmates for our daughter.

Hope to hear from you soon and thanks for getting in touch, Zara

Hi Zara

We've lived in Stowmarket since April last year, after moving from Bury St Edmunds, but I lived in Stowmarket with my ex husband and the majority of my family live here.

Yes, I am a full time Mum. We go to a mother & baby/toddler group every Friday and there are a few others around which I've not been to yet.

I've also met some other mums through another parenting web site, so there's a few of us about!

Whereabouts will you be living? Town end or Combs Ford area?

Heidi x

mummytotaly · 18/02/2005 09:40

Hi again!
We will be living about a five mins walk from the train station. I would ask where you live but I would n't have a clue!!
Roughly how many people attend these mother & toddler sessons? When we move I really want to go to these sorts of things to meet people and find playmates for my daughter. Do you attend any others? I really need to start doing some research in to this but I am not very good at searching for things on the net -I managed to come up with this website by mistake whilst looking for recipes for my daughter!!

heidib · 18/02/2005 16:03

Hi Zara

We're not too far from the town either. At least you'll be central to pretty much everything.

The group I go to has probably about 30-40 mums a session. I think the other ones are quite popular too. I've just never gotten round to finding out more details!

There's also Playworld at the Leisure Centre but I haven't taken Molly there yet. I might do when she's able to crawl as I'm not sure if there's enough to keep her occupied while she's dependent on me for mobility.

If I find any more information out for you about things to do locally I'll let you know.

Feel free to CAT (contact another talker) me anytime.

Speak soon

Hi Alison. I live in Hadleigh also. Been here just over a year now. Whereabouts are you?

AliButler · 22/02/2005 18:55

Hi Marmaladesun, I live just off Station Road, near the primary school. Where are you?

MarmaladeSun · 22/02/2005 21:09

Hi Ali...I'm up the top end, near the industrial estate, do you know it?

AliButler · 23/02/2005 18:34

Marmaladesun, Are you on the Army estate or near the garage?

AliButler · 23/02/2005 18:34

MarmaladeSun · 23/02/2005 21:29

Hi Ali...we're on the Army Estate.

AliButler · 24/02/2005 09:03

My ds used to go to a girl on Oxford Drive everyday. Very good childminder - but she has now moved back up north!

MarmaladeSun · 24/02/2005 09:32

Oh right, my DD1 and DS used to go the the school there, but I've moved them now to a school in Ipswich. I live on the estate on the other side of the school. Shame about your childminder; did you manage to find another one?

stardust27 · 08/06/2005 11:37

Hello,

I've been living in Stowmarket for 7 years now. Worked full-time in Ipswich until I had my little boy August 2004. Just wonderining if there is any mother and baby groups held locally and if so, where, when and what time etc. It would be great to make some new friends.

Thanks.
