City Meet-up - Weds 23rd June

Ok next city meet-up lunchtime on weds 23rd June.
Let's do coffee/sandwich in Starbucks on Appold St (or other such venue if anyone has any better ideas.) Then if weather is nice we can sit outside. Also if Vivat (or anyone else) is bringing babies it will be nice and shaded under the umbrellas.

Who's going to be around ?

And if you are new to city meet-ups please come along - we are a lovely friendly bunch - even if I say so myself

I am not being polite dinsaur - you are small IMO - how long have you to go??

Metrobaby - I found taking DD out in babybjorn carrier helped her colic - sort of bounced her around a bit and she got over it - huge burp anyway and she stopped screaming which was a relief after bouts of 7 hours!!!!

Hi I live in London too and would love to come to one of your meet ups, I do work in the city but don't have the sort of job where I can have a proper lunch break...! I am on nights at your next meet ups, so I won't be able to make it, but if you arrange another, I would love to be able to come if thats ok?
Am 17 weeks today, moved up to london last year and don't know many mums or mums to be, so would be lovely to get to know some of you! I always have a lot of inane questions too!

Bouj · 15/06/2004 14:22

Can't make it I'm afraid - will be on the way to Australia!!! Enjoy though, and I will hopefully make the next one (if the flight with ds doesn't send me insane).

bunnyrabbit · 15/06/2004 14:43

oohh Bouj, Australia. Wow. How long you going for?

I should be there K.

Metrobaby · 15/06/2004 19:24

Binkie - yes Roshan is now is middle name SAve up all your 2 min breaks, and pop along for 20 mins. Haven't seen you in ages.

Can't wait to see your ds Vivat. When I saw you were coming with him, I decided to be brave and come along too.

madgirl · 15/06/2004 21:32

vivat's dd is absolutely gorgeous, and her ds is lovely too. vivat is AMAZINGLY flat tummied. my ds was chatting about the jungle to dh all evening!
i thought that my placenta was in the clear, but then the sonographer called me up and said the consultant had looked over the pix/measurements (??) and said he wants to see me, also cos baby is at risk of gaining FOUR pounds in last few weeks cos of my diabetes. so i may have section after all anyhow, this isn't really meant to be for this thread, though it may prevent me from coming to lunch on wednesday! will let you know kayleigh. mg.

binkie · 16/06/2004 00:51

Metrobaby, am sooo tempted by prospect of getting to coo. Perhaps I should see how things are next week.

Madgirl, I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties - didn't realise you were dealing with diabetes, poor you.

Kayleigh, you're being a star as usual I see.

Sort of random idea for later in the summer, but near where I work (north of Barbican) there are some hidden gardens which might be nice for a lunchtime picnic maybe with our schoolies too.

Kayleigh · 16/06/2004 10:53

binkie, that sounds like a nice idea. Hope you can make it next week.

madgirl, hope everything is ok honey, take it easy.

Bunnyrabbit - just realised you had already posted that you were coming. At least you know I'm thinking of you

Soulfly · 16/06/2004 10:54

oh hello kayleigh how are you??

Twinkie · 16/06/2004 11:01

Madgirl - look after yourself and hope everything works out ok - maybe a c section would be a good idea though or it sounds as though you could be pushing out a baby elephant!!

If you need anything please email me!!

Love Twinkie XXX

(Oooohhhh have you worn the hat yet and the 3 pairs of sunglasses??)

Kayleigh · 16/06/2004 11:11

Hi soulfly. Nice to see you ! Are you going to come to the city meet-up or are you just stalking me ?

OP posts:
bunnyrabbit · 16/06/2004 15:44

Wan't it two hats, or am I going mad?

sponge · 16/06/2004 16:35

I will try to come - Liverpool Street is a pretty easy journey from here. A bit nervous as I haven't done one of these before. I could help bolster the beached whale vs proud new mum section though as will only have 6 weeks to go by then.

Kayleigh · 16/06/2004 23:58

sponge, would be great if you came. We are so NOT scary !!!

madgirl · 20/06/2004 22:59

Kayleigh · 22/06/2004 09:55

definitely beachyhead, will be great to meet you.

Yes Starbucks just next to Appold St on pedestrianised bit. Lots of tables outside and if it's dry we will be there. If it's raining will prob be inside. Meeting at 12:30.

See you tomorrow !

OP posts:
beachyhead · 22/06/2004 10:53

I can't believe I've done this - looked at calender, saw whole afternoon stretching out in front of me tomorrow, so on for the lunch meet up and then remember.....sports day at school and millions of promises for dd (7). So although I am tempted to try for a quick coffee at 12.30 and then get to SE3 by 1.30, I know I must resist... am deeply disappointed, but will come next time.
