Hi I have a ds aged 4 and a half, and have moved to Merstham near Redhill, a few months ago. It would be really nice to email and maybe meet up with other mumsnetters nearby, if there are any! If anyone is interested please get in touch, take care.

hi everyone, I can do any of the dates mentioned and don't mind if it is weekend or week night. And I think bowling is a great idea, I haven't been for years!

emy1 · 11/10/2004 21:17

Hi everyone I am new on this but would love to meet other mums.
If it would be ok for me to come along ,I can't really say what day will be best for as my husband works 4 on 4 off nights and days, a bit of a pain but will definately like to get out and should be able to get someone to have the kids

funnytype · 12/10/2004 09:32

Welcome Peebles, where are you from?

Ok shall we say a meet up on Monday 18th Oct for everyone who can make it, shall we go for a meal but where should we make it this time? We could go to Reigate again maybe somewhere different? And another meet up on Saturday 6th Nov for Bowling.

Monday 18th October and Saturday 6th November are both good for me - already in the diary. Have done bowling twice before - loved it but was absolutley awful. Dinner in Reigate also sounds lovely !! Looking forward to it (bit nervous though meeting a group of new people for the first time

ps - whats lol ?

midgemouse · 12/10/2004 12:34

Hello folks. I'm a new mum with a 3 month old DS living in Redhill and know very few people locally so would love to get to know some people around here. I spend most of my time on my own due to my partner's work taking him away from home during the week so looking after the littleun 24/5 TOTALLY by myself with little adult contact at the mo. Best friend near Southampton told me about MN, so trying this route to meet other local Mums.

If it was alright by everyone could I join you all on the 18th Oct, but I would need to bring my son along as I have no one to babysit for me. Or was it intended as a baby/child free get-together?

midgemouse · 12/10/2004 12:36

By the way (BTW) Dawnie lol stands for laugh out loud.

funnytype · 12/10/2004 13:57

Welcome Midgemouse. The 18th is for a evening night out but we can always organise a day one too. For during the day I dont mind having a gathering at my house sometime or we could meet somewhere central. Hope everyone is enjoying the rain NOT!

I thought we were going for a meal this Monday and bowling on the 6th or would everyone prefer the other way round? We would have to meet in Crawley for bowling as the nearest as for meal was Reigate okay again or does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks Midgemouse (I'm going to have to get used to these abbreviations!?!) Yep dinner on the Monday in Reigate and bowling on the Saturday in Crawley are fine for me !!

pebbles1 · 12/10/2004 17:45

Hi emy1. I have a DS aged 3 1/2 and another DS aged 5 months.
Unfortunately I am unable to make the 18th as I am going away for the week but the 6th Nov sounds great for bowling I must let everyone know that I am awful at bowling to.

kitkat04 · 12/10/2004 17:54

Hi Everyone

OK, I think we better get something booked for the 18th. Snowbell, you seem to know Reigate quite well, where would you suggest for our next meet-up?

pebbles1 · 12/10/2004 20:15

Sorry I forgot to mention that I was from Crawley so bowling would be ok for me there

pebbles1 · 12/10/2004 21:17

Also that last night my nickname was peebles, (spelt wrong it was menat to be pebbles)so I have got it right now. Sorry about all the messages keep forgetting to write stuff

funnytype · 13/10/2004 07:34

emy1 · 13/10/2004 08:37

sorry to be a pain but can we change the date for bowling as its the crawley fireworks and i always take the boys

Snowbell · 13/10/2004 10:07

Does everybody like Indian food? There is a very good one on Bell Street called Lal Akash. If not, we could go for another Italian, this time at Ask or Pizza Express maybe. Votes for Indian and votes for Italian please!

kitkat04 · 13/10/2004 10:27

I'd love an Indian!

Emy1, if you would like to change the date for bowling, how about the following Saturday (13th)? Can we all make that date?

Funnytype, I'm actually going to T&T today! Does it start at 1:00 or 1:30?

midgemouse · 13/10/2004 11:35

I would like to come too but my baby has to come with me or is it frowned upon by anyone?

kitkat04 · 13/10/2004 12:06

Hi Midgemouse

Sure, I don't mind if you bring your baby. I know what its like to be left 24/7 with no help. I experience it quite often with my Parner's work schedule.
