thought that I would start a new thread cos the other one is a bit long now.

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday, good to meet you all, and a treat for me to come into town rather than being tempted by Meadowhall shops.

Hula, I hope you and Mollie went straight home and put the central heating on to thaw out!!

Alison, you son is a lovely little boy, Katie was chatting about playing trains with 'Boy and pretty girl' to daddy.

WM, I am trying to remember the 'alternative' nursery songs but am struggling.

Hello all Sheffield mums ! I've just been browsing the mumsnet website for the first time, hoping to find out how to meet some new people in the area, and what do you know, you're all having lunch at this very minute!

Are newcomers allowed to gatecrash the party or are you now all old mates? I live in Rotherham (but don't hold that against me) and I'm really keen to meet some other mums for a bit of chatting, eating and drinking - judging by the message board, there's a lot of that going on! My DS is nearly 14 months and I am exactly 31 years older (he was born on my birthday, the little bugger). Do you meet up quite often? I can get anywhere in Sheffield most afternoons (not Monday) or all day Friday.

Waiting with baited breath for a reply (I'm new to all this!).

we're not cliquey at all, the more the merrier. We tend to meet at Zooby's sandwich bar in Winter Gardens every 3rd or 4th Fridays for lunch and a run around with toddlers. Usually
me and DD (2), Maisystar and DS (3+), Hulababy and DD(2+), Wedgiesmum, Katzguk, anad Sonnysmum came alond with DS (6 mths) for the first time today. Keep an eye on the Sheffield Friday thread, or you could always come to Graves Park this Sunday morning??

Thanks for the response everyone, I'll definitely try to come along next time you get together on a Friday. I won't be able to make Sunday though - DH and I are staying away tonight (without DS! I'm thinking a good night's sleep, DH is thinking getting pissed!). Dottee, I live in Ravenfield - whereabouts are you and Pennypocket?

As it is the school holidays in a week's time I am much more flexible with days and times. And I know WM will be leaving work in 10 days too and her DS will be off school.

So any ideas? But before 12th August if possible - I go on holiday then!

We're both in and around Wath (Rotherham can be too big sometimes but I'm sure we can sort out a get together if you're up for it sometime in the future .) We're both going to Graves Park today. Feel free to e-mail me off site.
