If the Summer meet-up, currently being proposed for 15 June (possibly whole weekend), is in Leeds would you go? What about Birmingham?

Please just type "yes", "no", or "maybe" (makes it much easier to determine results of poll)

Can I ask why the Southerners are reluctant to go up North?
I understand the argument about transport and hotels but actually, that was not the case at the weekend. The tube was packed because the district line was shut, tubes were not stopping at Victoria because of overcrowding, buses were full and there was a mile long queue for a taxi at only 8pm!
Costs - The tube is a rip off, so are buses, taxis! Fuck me!
Everything is dearer in London!

I won't go to another Southern meet-up because of the hours spent travelling to get there, trying to negotiate the tube by myself and not knowing where the feck I was, and the huge cost of it all! I spent £50 and I only bought myself one drink all night. The rest went on transport.

There are just as many trains go to Birmingham and there are only 2 stations at Brum!
Drink and transport is cheaper.
Major motorways lead to Brum.

So you Londoners have no real excuse not to go and you know it!
Lazy arses!

Uwilalalalalala · 22/11/2006 13:59

The problem is Brum is full of.... Brummies.

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 22/11/2006 14:01

there are just more mns form the south east aren't there

brum is a bit scary isn't it?

ComeOVeneer · 22/11/2006 14:01

I live in London and it took me 2 and 1/4 hours to get to the venue so I am quite happy to head elsewhere, especially if it means I get to stay in a hotel and get a lie-in.

Rhubarb · 22/11/2006 14:06

Brum is no scarier than London believe me!

I could not believe the number of people on the Tubes who were pushing and shoving each other to get in, even mums with tots were barged into! The doors wouldn't close because of all the limbs hanging out!

There were loads of people, loads of warnings about thieves etc, everyone was loud and nobody looked particularly friendly.

If you've never been to Brum then you can't say that it's scary. It isn't.
