Luckymetwins · 16/11/2006 19:42

Hi a yes from me too, as long as it's not too dressy, don't own anything nice anymore (or I'm too fat to fit in it )
I've just had a look on their website and they do a set xmas meun for £15.95 might be worth a look.

Love TM

LadyMacbeth · 16/11/2006 19:56

Steppy1 · 17/11/2006 09:05

Steppy1 · 17/11/2006 09:19

Have reserved table for 4...you can choose from the Xmas set menu (complusory for 8 or more) or for the usual selection for 8 or under...so best of both worlds....if you contact me through the "contact" page on this website I'll give you my contact details....How exciting !!!!!!

joelallie · 17/11/2006 12:29

I'm coming from Bridgwater so if anyone is one my way I'd be glad to pick up. I've resigned myself to being sober . DH is stunned and amazed....me, that near Christmas, going out for a meal, sober

Jeans and something on the top half is as far as I'd got. Don't own anything posh these day unless Oxfam can provide something gorgeous before the 1st

Luckymetwins · 17/11/2006 14:35

I'm coming from Bristol/Bath way if thats near anyone, happy to give a lift as not drinking either.

Jean and top it is , must be a mum thing as if I was going out for dinner with my friends with no children they always have to dress up,dresses, make up, hair do's, heels the lot.

Are we having a secert code so we can spot each other when we get there..? copy of the times under your arm or something

TM xx

Steppy1 · 17/11/2006 15:00

...from Shepton Mallett side for me...we really are meeting up in the middle aren't we?????

Good idea about the "sign" any suggestions ? I'll have to go out and buy a copy as don't get the chance to read a paper these days..just look at the news on the bbc website (how sad is that ?!!!!

OP posts:
joelallie · 17/11/2006 15:38

Sorry - don't read the Times how about the Independent . Or the Wells Free Press (or whatever the Wellian free rag is called).

Just look for the very tall person looking lost...that'll be me...

Luckymetwins · 17/11/2006 15:54

Just thought I'd add I saw the news paper under arm thing in a comdy once where these people meet on a blind date Sorry if I've given you all the wrong impression of me but I don't read buy or it

Could just arrange to stand near the enterance and I'm sure once there are 4 of us stood there looking like lemons then we will know it's us

xx

Luckymetwins · 17/11/2006 16:32

Steppy just thought can go to wells going through Shepton Mallott way if thats any help to you, not out the way for me if you'd like a lift ?

Anyone know what the parking is like there?

Steppy1 · 17/11/2006 17:46

...no I like the idea of us all having the Times under our arms ...and maybe a bowler hat and pin stripe suit....maybe we could all pretend to be some sort of secret women's society...bit like the masons...but then maybe Mumsnet is !!!!

Luckymetwins · 19/11/2006 16:20

Just wondering if this has been booked up yet ? May have a mini problem with coming as DH will have to work that night (doesn't normally do weekend work but with xmas coming up they are offering more shifts don't want him to turn it down as we need the money.
So I will tried to get a baby sitter, I'm fussy so will have to be either my Mum or maybe best friend will let you know how I get on (fingercrossed)

joelallie · 20/11/2006 11:23

Hope you can sort something Lucky!

Steppy1 · 22/11/2006 06:30

..know what you mean about the babysitting Lucky - hope that you can make it !

OP posts:
LadyMacbeth · 22/11/2006 20:48

Hi everyone (well all 3 of you!!) just to say I'm still going to be there on the 1st; just been v busy and not been on MN for a while. Looking forward to meeting you and I hope you get the babysitting sorted out Lucky!

Steppy1 · 23/11/2006 14:15

fab news !!! Maybe in 3/4 years time when there's 40/50 mnetters join us we'll look back and say "do you remember our very first bijou gathering" and smile

OP posts:
joelallie · 23/11/2006 20:17

I am a bit surprised that there aren't any more takers. I'm sure that there were some more Somerset mners!! However as we are such a select and elite crew perhaps we need some sort of identification. Perhaps we could all prevail upon our LOs to make us paper flowers for the button hole? Or would the yoghurt/tomato sauce/blackcurrant squash stains do the trick - or for those with younger ones, the milk sick on the shoulder????

Sorry - blame half an unscheduled bottle of soave... >

Steppy1 · 24/11/2006 11:14

lots of mums busy this time of the year I guess...

OP posts:
twocatsonthebed · 25/11/2006 12:08

Hellfire and damnation, here am I in Shepton Mallet, would love to come, but babytwocats is all of eleven days old and so may be rather an obstacle. I'll see how things go, and even if I just turn up for a quick glass of wine and half an hour, I'll try and put in some kind of appearance.

Luckymetwins · 25/11/2006 14:27

No luck on the baby sitting front, mum can't as she will have to stay the night (doesn't live near us) and she has something on Saturday morning so can't come up. Friend says no too she's going out herself but not being funny she goes out every weekend but though she might help me out, oh well if something changes in the next few days I'll let you know.
There is DH's mother but I hate her so to be honest unless it was life and death I'd rather not ask her (she's not all there anyway but at least DH's dad is normal :-)

XXX

Luckymetwins · 25/11/2006 14:33

Forgot to say Congrats!!! twocats on your little bubba (or maybe no so little I don't know )
Wow 11 days old, I think just thinking about making it for a glass of wine for half an hour is amazing, not sure I was ever even dressed when my two were 11 days (just kidding...well sort of

Steppy1 · 27/11/2006 16:31

....everybody (well the 3 of us !) still OK for Friday and for going into Wells ???

Have just logged myself in before I throttle DS and DD....it seems that every time they come in from school they end up making each other cry....and tonight mummy "flipped"

.... so they're sat eating tea on their own discussing how they can win mummy around...but only so that they can watch the cars DVD (out today !) that I bought so that we could watch it this evening. I am DETERMINED not to give into them.....GRRRRRRRRR !!
