The meetup will be on 15th May at zizzi

Table is booked in CountessDracula's name for 7:30 (however only those with wonderful partners or angel children will make it that early - so come for 8 or whenever!).

I will update the list I have at home when I get in from work (assuming internet connection is restored at home!) and let you know who I have for certain on the list.

Very very very excited.

yay, numpty users unite...that's the second time i've said yay on this thread...i'm not really inane, honest...i am quite nervous and excited about saturday tho.

I think i'm responsible for jmg1's sex realization. Not as bad as it sounds. He sent me an email through contact and it turned out he was male and I was surprised as I thought simonhoward and dadslib were the only ones.

Janh · 10/05/2004 21:53

bearinthebigbluehouse is one too, sofia. There are also AlanP and Tom and a couple of others. (And turnupthebass but he's too busy to post atm.)

popsycal · 10/05/2004 21:54

so is turnuthebass

Janh · 10/05/2004 21:55

Don't worry your pretty little head about it, dear.

tamum · 10/05/2004 22:09

I thought it was a Scottish word, what with not having heard it until I moved here, but maybe the word just happened to have been invented in 1993.

Hello Janh, good journey back? It was lovely to see you

Hello ks

jmg1 · 10/05/2004 22:09

I have created a monster - this thread is getting confusing.

galaxy, I might go to both meetups one is at 1230 and one 2000.

eejit, since you ask, ks. I would lurve to come, I really would. I just find it hard to justify the cost of flying down for a mumsnet meet-up (plus I would look immensely desperate for some mates). Are you going?

ks very funny, I was mrsdoubtfire last night but still a man I'll have you know.

Janh · 10/05/2004 22:17

Hallo, tamum! I had a wonderful time on Saturday, thank you so much, and it was lovely to meet all of you

I did start an email to you this morning but was feeling fragile and brain not in gear so didn't get very far, it is languishing in drafts at the moment. Journey back was OK but a bit loooong.

Is numpty really a Scottish word?

tamum · 10/05/2004 22:22

Heh heh, I think you'll find it is , at least according to BBC Scotland

I meant to email you too, so don't worry! Must say your ds1 is the sort of child who makes me quite look forward to having teenagers, which is saying something

ks, I would love to sit in your corner. Unfortunately I am missing my school friends reunion for 25 years since we left school (aargh) that weekend because dh is away, so I can't really justify coming to this, but maybe next time

jmg1, sorry to keep interrupting!

jmg1 · 10/05/2004 22:31

no tamum I am sorry I am a numpty, was just commenting on some earlier posts,

fisil · 11/05/2004 06:54

jmg1 I have you on my list now. Did I provoke your gender assertions with my hairy lorry driver comment? You are very welcome even if you are a hairy lorry driver! I assume you know about CD's misquote in the Times.

Someone seems to get up very early!!! I only just about managed to drag myself out of bed just so I'll manage to have some breakfast before the monsters wake up!!!

jmg1 · 11/05/2004 11:02

fisil, Re cd's misquote I know nothing! but it sounds interesting?

fisil · 11/05/2004 11:09

I'll try to find the link for you jmg1. Glad that you're coming. Are you a hairy lorry driver?

OP posts:
michellefromlakeland · 11/05/2004 11:11

ok I am still on

shall I drive or train?

fisil · 11/05/2004 11:13

michelle, I'll put you on the list - are you someone under a different name (before I embarass myself too far!)

OP posts:
michellefromlakeland · 11/05/2004 11:14

ahem

think fish

jmg1 · 11/05/2004 11:26

fisil, I actually learnt to drive in a HGV at age 18 but I haven't driven one for many years! Do you have a fetish for hairy arsed truckers?
I do feel a bit shy about coming to meet a load of strange woman, will someone look after me?

princesspeahead · 11/05/2004 13:33

jmg1 can I ask WHY you want to come and join "a load of strange women"? I personally find it a bit odd that a man wants to come on what is essentially a girls night out, whether he has children or no. Why do you want to come? I ask because (a) this is something my husband and every other dad I know would run a mile from and (b) yes this is mumsnet, and we love it, but it is also a meetup of strangers (otherwise all women, without partners) organised on the internet and I'm a little uncomfortable about what you are hoping to get out of it.
