is there a congestion charge if im being dropped off? Never driven into London....

I think you have to pay a fee if you enter the "zone", but you'll see signs clearly written that say something like "Beware, you will soon enter THE ZONE" or something similar!

You'll need to find out where the zone is. Ask here

I'm feeling very excited now! I've never done anything like this before - met over 60 total strangers for drinks in central London. I can imagine for people who don't live here it's quite daunting, at least I can hop on the bus home if it all goes pear-shaped.

So the official 'kick-off' time is 8pm then?

And I still haven't made my badge.

My train is getting into London Bridge at around 7.15pm. I've got no problems travelling around on my own, but if there's anyone who doesn't know London, or even just fancies some company walking into a strange bar filled with very strange people, I'll be happy to meet up before hand

serenity, what are you putting on your badge? I'm starting out from London Bridge but I'm not sure what time I'll manage to get away from home or I'd probably take you up on your offer just to avoid that 'arriving alone' business.

Please, custy, do let me know if I owe anyone money for pulling out at this late stage. dh is still away in Devon on Saturday so I am in sole charge of our sons all weekend. And Ds1 has got me embroiled in complicated social plans for both saturday and sunday, and so I can't leave everything and everyone.

There are lots of people I was looking forward to seeing, but I know you will all have a great time!

DS now has this big going round, high temp, vomiting etc. if it doesn't clear by saturday i wont be coming
i am gutted, ds hardly ever gets ill.. i think he just knows im going out for once in 3 years..3 bloody years !!!
