Glasgow meet-up - November or December 2006

Thought I'd start at thread as Harrisey said she wanted someone to organise a Glasgow meet-up - and LieselvonTrapp said she wanted to meet me .

How about suggesting a few weekends in November and then seeing what interest there is. Princes Square (Buzzy Wares) has been fairly successful as a venue - relatively central and the kids can run around and have a good time.

So, how about 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 or 26 November?

Me - I can make all of those dates at the moment - although dh and I are currently trying to work out a weekend away to Paris, using his BA miles. If it's a Sunday I would be there without ds (6), as he has rugby.

I'm on holiday at the moment (this week and next) - hence the wee bit of time to come on and have a look - but it does mean that it might be a wee while before I come back and have a look. And I'm also rushed off my feet at work at the moment, so won't have time to keep bumping this once I'm back at work, so if there is interest, I iwll need help from the rest of the Scottish/Glasgow mumsnetters in co-ordinating the arrangements.

I could do 19th, 25th or 26th. If it is a Sunday I would have to be a little late as I have church.
Venue sounds good! Dh would love me to take the kids out on a weekend and leave him alone to read the paper and sleep. And it would but nice to finally meet up - and our kids would love the train ride into town!!

Toothache · 19/10/2006 22:03

Can I come? And I'm determined to make it this time!!!!

prettybird · 20/10/2006 14:14

Goodness me - Toothache is alive!

Hope you can make it - whatever date is agreed.

Is there anyone else interested? Or if these dates don't suit, what abut suggesting some other dates?

OP posts:
jambuttie · 20/10/2006 14:28

i hope to make it too

Toothache · 22/10/2006 21:48

Hey PB - I'm alive! So sorry I never made the lat one after me being so forceful about setting the arrangements!

BexieID · 25/10/2006 13:26

I can do the 12th. I work Saturday mornings and will be visiting my family in Engand on the other dates!

Peridot30 · 25/10/2006 14:31

prettybird · 30/10/2006 14:07

11 ans 12th out for me its the weekend before ds1 birthday and we are going to the cinema and for pizza that weekend with his friends, not sure on what day though

gomez · 02/11/2006 09:37

Bumpity bump to try and agree a date.

I am fine for 18th/19th or 25th/26th - no idea how many/which children I would have with me, except of course DS who will need feeding.

Hope we can get things sorted.

Hi Toothy ....

Cheerio

ja9 · 03/11/2006 20:28

toothche! there u r! how r u?

Loobie · 04/11/2006 18:39

ME!!! Ill try to come along too,not too fussed about dates as nothign on this month anyway so im easy oesy! Will haev all 3 kids with me as always who are at the moment jumping up and down on my bed screaming fireworks fireworks!!

prettybird · 05/11/2006 23:53

Not sure if we have cirtical mass yet? Maybe if we suggest 26 November and then see who can make it?

I'd be there without ds, as he'd be at rugby. (Can't make the 25th, as we'll probably go through to see the Scotland-Australia match).

He could possibly come along afterwards - espcially if Toothache's ds was going to be there - and Toothace was sure she's be able to make it. DH could drop him off. I think there is some kiddie's stuf that goes in in Princes Square on the last Sunday of the month - face painting and stuff.

Count me in I could make the 29th Nov - this time I promise not to turn up and sit in Princes Square and not know who you all are maybe someone could meet me beforehand????

Will bring one DD don't know which one yet probably DD2 as she's the easiest.

gomez · 06/11/2006 21:01

Cool - 26th it is then. What time?

Sweetkitty I am afraid I can't offer to meet you as I would be afraid of a 'blind leading the blind' disaster type scenario!

sweetkitty · 06/11/2006 21:25

Can we have some way of IDing each other then? Did someone mention a balloon tied to a chair???

purplemonkeydishwasher · 07/11/2006 19:13

i think i might come. if i don't chicken out! what time?

prettybird · 09/11/2006 08:50

The way we did it last time, I got a helium baloon of a character from the Incredibles and put that on the table. It seemed to work!

As you can't book at Buzzy Wares (downstairs in Prices Square, between the double staircase), I owuld recommend getting there by 12 noon, so that we can nab enough tables outside.

My only conencern is that this a month later than the one we last year, so the Chirstmas tree will be up. It's not so much of a concer for the slightly older kids - it just means it will be more difficult to keep an eye on mobile tinies.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 09/11/2006 09:13

and you just KNOW that it'll be mine that will be in the news that night .... "a small incredibly beautiful child pulled the tree in princes square down, injuring many innocent people.."

sweetkitty · 10/11/2006 16:58

I don't know if I will be able to come now as I may (fingers crossed) have a temp Xmas job and be working Saturdays and Sundays. If I'm not workking I will def come along though.

If not you can all come and say hello to me in a shop that has 3 floors at the end of Buchanan Galleries

Toothache · 10/11/2006 23:18

Hello Gomez and Ja9!

Gomez - You had a boy!!!! CONGRATS!

Have we got a date yet?

I can confirm that the tree is up.... was there yesterday.

sweetkitty · 11/11/2006 22:35

I was there on Thursday too toothy - hopefully I'll be able to meet you too.

prettybird · 13/11/2006 09:14

Not sure I'm going to be able to make it now on the 26th. I checked ds' rugby schedule and he has an away game at Helensburgh - so it would probably be me that would be on "parent" duty for that one.

OP posts:
gscrym · 13/11/2006 09:30

I'm off nightshift so I'll be sleeping. Hopefully I'll make the next one.

Peridot30 · 13/11/2006 10:49

26th ok for me too. Will hopefully see you all there. Will keep watching this post incase anything changes
