Hi
I have managed to get in , I am booked in for the pregnancy massage @ either 3.45 or 4.45 pregnancy brain keeps letting it slip . The lady when I booked said I could also go in the Hammam room as well as the relaxation area.
What time are you all arriving? Do you all know each other from previous meets? I will be the very large bellied lady with stripey hair who is slightly out of breath, I am sure someone in there is squashing my lungs somewhat. I think I've suddenly come over all shy. Anyway I am looking forward to meeting you all on Saturday. Cheers CM

Hulababy · 26/02/2007 13:04

OK, A SUMMARY FOR YOU ALL

WHERE AND WHEN?

Date: Saturday 3rd March
Time: 3pm - 6pm - suggest you arrive 10-15 minutes earlier to sign in pay, complete questionnaire (if never been before) and get your robe/slippers
Where: Spa 1877, (www.spa1877.com), 67 Victoria Street, Sheffield, S3 7QD Telephone: 0114 221 1877.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Spa Experience Only = £23
Spa Experience plus scrub = £30
Treatments vary - check website!

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

Swimsuit
Money - they take cash, cheque or credit card
Make up (optional!)

WHAT DO THEY PROVIDE?

Towels - lots available in the Hammam
Robe
Slippers
Shampoo & Shower Gel
Hand cream
Hair dryers
Paper knickers for the scrub

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

On arrival you need to go to the counter and sign in - they bookings are now in individual names; if you are having treatments confirm these and times (including for scrubs). You can pay now or afterwards. If you have never been before you will need to complete a short medical questionnaire.

Next, you will go through the sliding doors and there is a counter on your left. This is where you get your gown, a towel and your slippers. You need to tell them your shoe size. You will also get a locker kep - there are two changing rooms, the wall signs tell you where to go.

Go and get changed into your swimsuit, put your slippers and gown on, but leave your towel int he locker. Don't forget to bring your locker key!

Now head on to the Spa!

First room you go into is the Relaxation Room. You can order hot drinks, or help yourself to water and juice in here. Those who are pregnant stay in here until they are called for their treatment. Drinks are free Toilets are just outside this room.

You access the Spa through the Relaxation Room.

WHAT IS IN THE SPA?

The Spa is Ladies only on a Saturday.

Hammam

The Hammam is a soft and relaxing heat, as you lay on heated marble benches you can truly imagine yourself in another world.

Aromasteam

Literally clear your head in our aromasteam room where a range of essential oils, such as eucalyptus and peppermint, is used to improve breathing as well as refreshing the spirit and promoting clarity of mind.

Steam

Hotter than Aromasteam. Relax and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of our largest steam room. Steam baths ease stress, relieve muscle tensions and stiff joints, boost the immune system, stimulate circulation, increase body metabolism, remove fat-stored toxins from the body and deep-cleanse the skin.

Sauna

Fans of this dry heat report feelings of peace and contentment as well as physical rejuvenation. Exposure to high heat causes an artificial fever, stimulating the body's immune system to fight minor illness. Circulation increases, reviving tired muscles, detoxifying and cleansing the skin.

Plunge Pool

There is nothing more invigorating and stimulating than a dip in the plunge pool. Bathing in cold water supercharges the system, improves breathing and muscle tone and reduces fatigue. The release of endorphins gives you that feel-good factor.

Ice Cave

Get that tingle factor as you chill out in the Ice Cave. Rubbing ice granules onto your skin will exfoliate and really get the circulation going! For people with aching muscles, holding ice on the affected area decreases blood flow to provide immediate pain relief and reduce swelling.

Experience Shower

This amazing, multi-coloured tropical rain shower is guaranteed to refresh and exhilarate after coming out of the steam rooms or sauna. As you are blasted by the water, the colours in the room change to give you an unforgettable shower experience.

Hulababy · 27/02/2007 22:02

And don't forget - all you Spa Experience people - the Plunge Pool is not optional!!!

OP posts:
Wooh · 28/02/2007 05:16

I LOVE the plunge pool.

Unforunately I will not be using it this time.

Hulababy · 28/02/2007 16:15

I like the ice crystal room Not so keen on the paper pants for my scrub though!

OP posts:
Clary · 28/02/2007 16:52

mmm yes the paper pants

Am very excited about this. Really need a new swimmy but no time to get one before. You'll just have to put up with my scraggy one.

Am panicking that I cannot remember everyone's RL name, I mean people that I have met on a number of occasions so apologies in advance. I'll know your faces tho!

Hulababy · 28/02/2007 16:55

LOL - I am rubbish at names; hence asking everyone each time I do these I can cheat though now as I have my list with username and real names on!

OP posts:
PandaG · 28/02/2007 19:42

Clary - I am so glad you said that about RL names! I am feeling a bit embarrased that I can't remember several names from last time - but I think I can remember yours

see you all on Saturday {smile]

WinnieThePooh · 28/02/2007 20:14

I am hopeless wil names as well.

I can remember a few of your real names, but not many.

See you all on Saturday

Clary · 01/03/2007 09:30

Ah Panda and Hula I think I recall yours...

Hulababy · 01/03/2007 16:26

Well my real name is part of my e-mail, on this thread somewhere, and starts in the same way your username does

OP posts:
WedgiesMum · 01/03/2007 20:01

Keep away from Yorkie if she has been in the ice cave

Hulababy · 01/03/2007 20:04

Hello stranger!

OP posts:
charleymouse · 02/03/2007 01:09

After having plucked up courage to venture out and meet you guys I think I am jinxed. I had a scan today and apparently have to much fluid round twin 1 so could go into spontaneous labour at any time. They wanted to admit me today but I had a dose of steroids and am being admitted tomorrow. I couldn't just leave DD behind so came hme to put my house in order so to speak.
Hopefully I will get to the next spa day.
Sorry for that last minute notice but not a lot I can do. I will cancel the massage direct with the spa and make any payment due.
Cheers CM

Hulababy · 02/03/2007 07:43

Sorry to hear that CM. Hope all goes well with the baby.

If you call the spa today, before 3pm then you will have given them 24 hours notice so shouldn't have to pay them anything.

OP posts:
theheadgirl · 02/03/2007 11:01

Take care CM, sorry you can't make it. Sit and incubate those babies for as long as you can, and keep us posted. All the best xxx
