Local Mum's - Bedfordshire - Anyone Out There???

ChablisGlugger · 04/10/2006 11:48

Really hope someone hears my voice in the wilderness!

I'm a 35 yo mum living in Flitwick. My son William's just turned 1 and is sooooo adorable, however I'm struggling

My pals live in London mostly, and they're nearly all childless. I feel isolated, I guess - not aided my the fact I don't drive (medical reasons).

Anyone out there???

Evening is OK for me but I have to get dp to babysit so would need a bit of notice..

Got your mail CG, will try and reply today - I don't generally login over the weekends hence the delay.

SimplyRed - went to the butterfly garden the other week.. not been for a good few months, it's really established now - and so much easier to get to now the bypass is open!

QE - I think we nearly made a meet up before but never got round to it!

Just out of interest how old are peoples kids? my dd was 4 in June and has just started school.

Simplyred · 09/10/2006 12:29

Hello!

Yes Butterfly gardens are nice - they have craft stuff to do to - Thurleigh Farm is good too - but pricey I think. My dd is one and ds is six.

QueenEvil · 09/10/2006 15:19

CG thanks for your e-mail, will reply when I get a few mins!

Spiky... yes we almost did, don't why it didn't materialise tbh.

An evening sounds pretty good to me - I'd never turn down the opportunity of a few jars! I could only do an evening if it was after 9pm (except Tues)as I work til then but if everyone thinks that's a goer then I'm up for it.

My youngest kids are almost 4 and almost 2. I would bring them to a daytime meet-up. Older ones are 14,12 and 10.

LauraGas · 09/10/2006 19:17

A few glasses of vino sounds good to me! Can do anynight except Wednesdays. Just found out about the acronyms so can happily say my DS is 19 weeks!

mascaraohara · 10/10/2006 09:49

Shall we go for a Friday evening? or will that be too raucous? maybe a mid-week would be better? I'm pretty easy going, I'll go for a few quiet drinks or a big night out - whatever suits

9-ish would be good as it would give me a chance to put dd to bed and get myself sorted and out the house!

ChablisGlugger · 10/10/2006 10:02

A Friday night would be great methinks - we Mums need to be raucous sometimes! And post-9pm is fine by me. Can you guys do the 20th? I don't know bars in Bedford very well - though they've gotta be better than the pitiful Flitwick offering!

Hello (jumps up and down waving!!) Can I come and play too?
Live in sunny Luton now but lived in Bedford for 15yrs before that. I'm a late starter to this children lark and at 44 have DD of 3.8 and DS of 11mths. Usually feel 10 yrs older but act 10 yrs younger (at least!)
Not sure about 9pm meet-ups in Bedford as usually got feet up with cocoa by then but daytime/earlier ones would be great.

mascaraohara · 10/10/2006 12:28

I can do weekend daytime but my dd would be there...

QueenEvil · 11/10/2006 21:56

I like the idea of a 9pm ish meet up but the 20th is tricky as I am working til 9 that eve (but could prob get away early) and on again at 8am the next morning.

I could do the eve of the 27th Oct or 3rd Nov?

Or I could do a daytime meet on the 28th Oct or 4th Nov?

mascaraohara · 12/10/2006 10:50

I can't do w/e 20 through 22nd..

I can do the 3rd!!!

CG - sorry I haven't replied to your mail - I haven't forgotten about you! getting stuck into a new job at work and only really use t'internet whilst there

QueenEvil · 15/10/2006 20:27

Anymore for the 3rd Nov?

mascaraohara · 17/10/2006 18:43

just reviving this as had kind of forgotten about it...

have you all taken arrangements offline? if so can someone email me please

ChablisGlugger · 18/10/2006 09:20

I can probably do the 3rd, tho may have to bring a friend who'll be staying with me...(she's a mum from Hastings). Keep me posted

Hello...

CG emailed but I think I must have deleted her email address and dont' think I mailed back - can't remember...

suburbanjellybrain · 02/11/2006 15:00

no worries mascara - thanks for letting me know - it is very easy to lose track of postings here.

I would be interested in a local meet up - but have to go now as 2 yo on rampage - will check back laters - cheers

mascaraohara · 02/11/2006 15:04

will have to keep the thread alive and see who else comes back on..

QE has been around for a while - so she should see this sooner or later.

KateF · 02/11/2006 15:09

Hi - just seen this thread. I'm in Leighton Buzzard and have 3 dds aged 7,5.5 and 2. Nice to know there are other Beds MNetters

ChablisGlugger · 02/11/2006 21:11

Hi guys - only just found my way back to this thread!!! Still up for a meet - just let me know a time and a place

OP posts:
suburbanjellybrain · 02/11/2006 21:43

just emailed you Chablis.

I am interested in an evening Bedford meet up - sans kiddies - as it is easier than trying to get both babies on the train or bus - but can also do daytime if I have notice and get in training to carry huge jellybaby girl in sling and then jelly baby boy can walk and I will have enough hands to manage both!iykwim
