Brighton Xmas meetup

Hi there everyone. I really want to get our Xmas meetup sorted as I'm sure places will get booked up soon.

So far we have suggested Sat 6th December and talked about Pub Du Vin.

When I looked at their menu it was £35 for lunch which I think is a bit pricey. How about we consider it for drinks afterwards instead?

I check out All Bar One and their xmas menu is £22 with some deal on wine. I know we've been there and done that but it does have a big space and it's very central.

I've had a look at some other 'more interesting' options but they're either evening only, too expensive or unable to take large bookings.

So, please send me any other suggestions to look into or vote for ABO and I'll let you all know if we need deposits

I'm in and don't mind where. (Last time we did Pho they didn't take reservations on a Sat so Cob I'm guessing from your message above that must have changed? Or maybe it's just different for Xmas)

Doreen you're right about not normally taking bookings but exceptions for Xmas.

I'll draw up a list of who is in and who I'm going to PM but right now I'm off to bed!

Spoke to pub du vin and they don't reserve areas in the bar unless you're eating. They said there's usually plenty of space available and it doesn't get too busy, so we may have to take pot luck unless there's somewhere else that can keep spaces free

sure we will find somewhere to 'welcome' us.... x

Starters

G?i cu?n tom: fresh summer rolls with prawns and fresh herbs

G?i cu?n: veggie summer rolls with fresh herbs

Nem n??ng: delicious pork and lemongrass meatballs

Ch? giò: fried pork spring rolls

M?c chiên giòn: tender baby squid with a salt, pepper & lime dip

Main Course Choices

Pho noodle soup:

The classic Vietnamese dish – healthy and delicious rice noodle soup served with fresh herbs

Ph? tái l?n: steak flash fried in garlic in beef stock

Ph? chín: brisket (tender roast beef) in beef stock

Ph? gà: chicken breast in chicken stock

Bún bò Hu?: brisket served in a hot & spicy beef stock

Bún gà Hu?: spicy chicken in a wonderfully warming spicy stock

Ph? chay: tofu and mushrooms with veggie, chicken or spicy stock

Bun noodles:

Vermicelli rice noodles with stir fried topping with lemongrass, fresh herbs, veggie spring roll and peanuts.

Noodles served room temperature just like in Vietnam with nuoc cham* sauce on the side (spicy or regular option)

Bun Cha Gio Ga: lemongrass chicken

Bun Cha Gio Bo Xao Sa: lemongrass beef

Bun Chay: tofu and mushroom (ask for vegetarian sauce, ginger soy)

Pho xao

Wok fried flat rice noodles with lemongrass, chilli and onion. Served with peanuts.

Ph? Xào Thit Ga: with chicken & prawns

Ph? Xào Chay: with veggies, mushrooms and tofu

Cari:

Spicy Vietnamese curry topped with nuts and served with rice.

Com Ga Cà-ri: with chicken

Com Chay Cà-ri: tofu and mushrooms
