Based on Cretaceous Era Mumsnetters' availability (and I don't just mean dino!)
Sign up here please and I will try and remember to e-mail Kayleigh about it too!

I know, Bundle. But last time we tried to sell we used C*rrels, who were terribly gentlemanly and nice, always punctual etc etc and... didn't manage to sell our house.

So this time round we thought we'd just go for the full-on sharky b*stard approach and see what happens...

bundle · 27/09/2006 10:13

are hugh grover round your way? they're v nice...

frogs · 27/09/2006 10:21

I'm not after nice, bundle. I just want them to sell the flipping thing.

bundle · 27/09/2006 11:15

we've just accepted an offer with the Nice Ones near us..(we bought the flat from them too)

imo f*xies put ridiculous valuations on, but only time will tell...

Mumpbump · 28/09/2006 20:59

I would be interested in coming if this is open to anyone, but have a job where lunch can get cancelled at short notice. Would I be allowed to be a tentative yes??

I would love to join you all, if that would be ok. I live in Bethnal Green, and have a 3 month old son. Is this the type of lunch that you could bring a baby to, or should I get a babysitter?

Can I suggest Spitalfields Market, 12.30pm, as near to the falafel stall as possible? It's a good venue for bringing pushchairs and also for when, inevitably, some of us have to drop out at the last minute.

Sorry dino just spotted your suggestion of booking somewhere in the market.
Yes, that would be great if you don't mind. You choose and we'll all chunter about it afterwards both sound lovely. I am a Giraffe Virgin so am keen to hear if it lives up to its press but honestly don't mind. Anyone got any strong views?

Right, I shall book Giraffe then. What time - 12.30 p.m. okay for everyone?

diNOLOOKINGOVERYOURSHOULDERsau · 10/10/2006 12:32

Oh no, just looked at my calendar and see someone has slotted in a meeting at midday that day. Can we make it 1 p.m. please?

frogs · 10/10/2006 12:48

1pm is okay for me. Where is Giraffe, though? I only know the Islington one.

Did you get my email, dino? I never know whether that out of hours office reply thing actually passes emails on to you, or just chucks them in the virtual trash.

diNOLOOKINGOVERYOURSHOULDERsau · 10/10/2006 12:49

frogs I've sent you a reply this morning - unfortunately can't do this Sat, or next, but suggested the one after that? Let me know if you haven't got email and I'll resend.

Am thinking Giraffe in Sppitalfields here.

frogs · 10/10/2006 12:53

Is it in the market, dino? (Giraffe, that is, not the email...). Must have arrived there since my time. [Shuffles off in search of anti-ageing cream]

NotQuiteCockney · 10/10/2006 12:55

There's a Giraffe right in Spitalfields.

I can't make it this time - I will be back on for City Lunches that are either a) in holiday time or b) after January 2008, or maybe September 2008, depending on plans.

diNOLOOKINGOVERYOURSHOULDERsau · 10/10/2006 12:55

frogs, there are a whole heap of new restaurants there now, since about this time last year

nice for weekend lunch

NotQuiteCockney · 10/10/2006 12:58

Yeah, in the market, near the western edge - west of all the stalls, anyway, but with doors on the East side.

Canteen is lovely but less child-friendly, and more expensive. Leon is really really healthy and lovely, too. Giraffe is the most child-friendly, though.

Mumpbump · 10/10/2006 14:07

Giraffe sounds good to me... Still hoping to make it!
