Hello, I live in the Bristol/Bath area and am finding being a new Mum and not being from this area a really lonely experience - I'd love to meet some other likeminded Mums in the area - anyone there?!

waterbug · 13/05/2004 21:19

hello lostinspace-I hope we can rearrange soon,I don't really mind which days as I arrange my work around whatever else I've got on, but mornings are best for me
rubyt- how's your little boy?? hope it was nothing serious?

Ive watched this thread and other Bristol meet up attempts.I wonder if the reason why some of our efforts dont come off is that we tend to choose dates so very far in the future. One thread I joined in was working more than a month ahead, then fell apart last min. I know all mums are very busy so we are kind of forced to do this but I`ve cruzed a few of the other threads and they work on smaller time scales. Perhaps we could pick a date like next Friday and see who is free. If some folk can come and others cant we go ahead but hope they can jump in next time. What do you think?

waterbug · 10/07/2004 14:15

helloooo...
anyone still here??
dingdong, where are you?

samw · 12/07/2004 13:41

Hello people. Just read your somewhat lengthy and complex thread and so thought I would say that I am going to Cribbs next Tues (13th) at 2pm and will be draggin my ds (12mth) along for the persistant complaining. Does anyone want to meet up? No complicated arrangements or anything.

I will also invite some mums I recently met from another forum !

hi samw

would love to come but 2pm is a bit late for me as I have to be back home for the school pick-up by 3pm at the latest, hope you have a nice time and let us know how it went

samw · 13/07/2004 14:31

Hello waterbug. Thanks for the response, but I am afraid even the simplest of plans don't work! Tuesday meet has now been moved to Monday with a couple of other Bristol mums. We have no idea what time or where, but have agreed to address the finer detail on Sunday when we have a better idea as to what the weather will be doing. I'm afraid the earlist I can do is middday due to sleepy ds. Would love you to join us if you can. In case I forget to post details and you decide to come along I think you can contact me via my email address through this site? If not you can try [email protected]

Hi to you all..Am new to mumsnet so been looking through areas local to me (I'm near Swindon). Just to go against advise earlier I am planning a mums night out in April...with a difference. Have two little ones myself (4 & 2) and really miss a good night out just dancing to some good music (rare occassion that I have gone into a club after a girls night out I have immediately regretted it) so, calling it "Funky mamas" dedicated to primarily mums who just want to go somewhere to let their hair down and dance. Lots of feedback has said early start and early finish (8pm - 1130) because we still have to get up for little one's in the morning. Venue will be just off of Junc 16 of the M4. Am about to post something on the events page, be interested in feedback on whether you think it's a good idea

sacha3taylor · 18/02/2005 13:11

I think it is a great idea I live in bath and am only 23 but have grown old before my time! Most of my friends are fed up with going clubbing and dancing as they have spent the last 7 years going but i had my DS [5] at 18 so have never really had time to go much [have a DD 2.5 and a DS 9 months] Now i have finished feeding my youngest DS am dying to get out and have some fun! I am lucky, my husband has never minded me going out but most of the time am too tired! Looking forwared to hearing more about it!

sweeney · 18/02/2005 13:31

hi i've also posted separate thread for info on mums and babies groups in bath area. just thought i'd pick your brains aswell!
thanks

Steppy1 · 19/02/2005 10:13

Hi Sweeny & S3T, sorry didn't have chance to update yesterday hectic day with DS and DD plus DH flying off to California today (on business) so trying to get everything ready for his trip too (fortunately he does iron his own shirts !) Really greatful that he's away when it's half term would find it impossible to cope with them off from pre-school as well (hats off to single mums I say !!) Anyway, the mums night out is now planned for APRIL 15TH and will take place at the Wiltshire Golf and Country Club (thought us mums deserve a bit of luxury ! Tickets are £6.50, the DJ has been booked, bar snacks etc are available on the night. Boogieing and groovin (!!!) starts at 8pm and finishes at 1130pm...there's even a hotel on sight so if there are any mums that want to treat themselves to a night away then they can book into the hotel too (swimming pool, spa etc) Im working on the hotel to provide a discounted rate for any mums that do want to stay....hope you like !!!!!

PinkArjuna · 03/03/2005 21:09

sacha3taylor · 03/03/2005 21:16

Hello cellogirl!

cellogirl · 03/03/2005 21:27

Hi Sacha, how are you my dear?

sacha3taylor · 03/03/2005 21:28

Tired, are you any better?

cellogirl · 03/03/2005 21:32

Much better thank you, my cold has gone and Will slept a bit better yeaterday. Do you think anything will be arranged? Perhaps we ought to just say we are meeting at a certain place at a certain time, and if only me and you turn up, we can still have a good old natter!!
