I am a new Mum aged 36 to my precious daughter who is now 17 weeks old(born 24th May 2006.
Would love to hear from any mums with similar aged babies in St Albans. Not originally from this area, which doesn't make it easy.
Look forward to hearing from you all soon.

Just wanted to say "Hi"! We moved from St Albans to New York for a couple of years in July but I had to add something to this thread as I would definitely have joined in if I were still there. Oh well - back around July 2008 or 2009 so maybe meet you all then! Enjoy! (-Great to hear about Toys R Us by the way - always had to go to Luton before!)

rachluv · 21/10/2006 09:14

EllieHsMum · 23/10/2006 08:05

Hi All!
We are back from Sunny Boro, not very rested Ellie has a terrible cough, cold & sore gums(no teeth).I am like a snot monster so going to call the Dr's at 830 when reception opens. Despite being poorly Ellie is in such a good mood, apart from 3.35-5am this morning when she cried real tears as her mouth is so sore.Gave her an Ashton&Parson Powder & some Calgel teething gel.The Chemist from Boots in Boro yesterday said they can't treat the cough can only give a baby glycerin cough bottle, plus powders & gel for her teeth.Welcome toottoot &NYceMummy.Wriggle'sMum sorry to hear about Wriggle waking up during the night.
Ellie hasn't had a feed through the night since Friday 13th, although she still wakes up briefly more so because of her snuffles & gums.
Anyway must dash have lots of washing to catch up on, and to see to my wee angel. I am up for the meet on 31st, Ellie has a wee fancy dress outfit I bought for her last week
Lots of Love to you all Lisa & Ellie.x.x.

granarybeck · 25/10/2006 15:23

Hi all. I've just moved to the area, I don't have a little, little one (youngest is 8) but justthought I'd say hello!

May be we could arrange an evening or general daytime meet up later on for all mums (or dads!) in the area?

anorak · 25/10/2006 15:38

Ah granarybeck, you made it to St Albans! I'd love to meet up with you sometime!

I didn't post on this thread before because my youngest child is 6 now but if anyone's interested in an evening meet-up I'll start a new thread.

sylvm · 25/10/2006 18:16

Hi Granarybeck and Anorak - Anorak I think you posted on my thread about moving to ST A/Harpenden at the beginning of 2005. Like you I don't have very littlies (youngest is 9). The Mums on this thread did invite me to join them at their last meet - I couldn't make it in the end anyway - but they do all have little ones. Would be interested in meeting up sometime.

NYceMummy · 25/10/2006 19:22

rachluv, what is juicy stuff?

granarybeck · 25/10/2006 22:09

Hi Anorak/Sylvym, would be great to meet you (and others) now I've finally made it here. I think an evening meet up sounds good anorak if others fancy that.

rachluv · 26/10/2006 08:31

Hope your big one is OK Rachelluv. DD1(almost 15) had 2 teeth out on Monday plus is complaining of very sore arms following flu/pneumonia jabs yesterday (she has asthma). It doesn't get any easier when they get older does it? Mine is still a big baby!

mellt13 · 26/10/2006 12:48

Hi All

Elliesmums - Sorry Ellie is not feeling. Glad you had a good time up north.
Rachluv - sorry Luke is not feeling well and hope your big baby is feeling better.
Hello all new mums.
Sorry girls I can't make it on the 31st I am going Christmas shopping with my mum.

Well better get on with doing some housework

See you all soon

Love

Mell

Pennies · 27/10/2006 09:12

I've just moved here too. Can I come? I've got two DD's aged 2 and 10 months so a bit younger than everyone - am I right? haven't read the whole thread so can't remember ages.

Granarybeck - so you were drawn to Herts after all. I remember trying to lure you here when you posted for advice about where to move!

granarybeck · 27/10/2006 16:18

Yes, are just renting at the mo and looking for a house to buy! Has been a very big change!Where abouts did you move to?

rachluv · 27/10/2006 16:48

awww mell, will miss u and yes all are welcome im not sure who can make it yet but i,ll be there. Anything to get away from hubby he thinks im a nurse all of a sudden. He looks like he,s been in a boxing ring for 10 rounds. lukes a bit better, cold has turned into a cough so a few sleepless nights.... hey why am i complaining ... hope to see as many as can make it 31st oct 11am marks and sparks coffee shop st albans... byeeeeeeee

CastsSpellsWitchySpells · 27/10/2006 22:01

Hi Pennies - how did the move go - all settled now? Yours aren't the youngest - my DD is 8.5 months, and WriggleJiggle's is about 6.5 months, and there are some other tiddlers too, but I didn't make it to the bigger meet.

I won't be able to make 31st either I'm afraid ladies. Aside from the fact that I'm busy that day, a coffee shop just isn't the right sort of place for a cruising baby - those of you with little ones will realise that soon enough!

I can't do evening meets (Christmas meet up will hopefully be my first night out since DD born!), but am generally up for daytime meets as long as the venue will entertain DD.

Pennies · 29/10/2006 13:31

I moved to Tewin, so a little bit away from Harpenden and on the other side of the A1M.

CSWS - the move went very well, thank you for asking. Managed to find myself a babysitter within two hours of moving in which I'm chuffed with though I've not used her yet!

I went to St Albans this weekend and checked out the coffee shop and I'm with you about it being a bit tricky to be there with a very mobile baby.

I seem to remember that Big Space in Harpenden was suggested - anyone fancy that?

WriggleJiggle · 29/10/2006 23:27

Hi there, back again to the south. Now trying to get back to normality after visiting 5 sets of people in 1 week - at least its done now!

Looking forward to meeting up again. I can do either day time or evening depending on dh's work.

Glad to hear the move went well Pennies.

NYceMummy · 29/10/2006 23:53

Thought it might be helpful to let you know that there is a soft play in St Albans called CastAway kids and one in London Colney called Adventure World. I've only ever been to the London Colney one, which is good for very little ones as it is not too big. Also I personally love the Waffle House especially in the winter when it is warm and cosy and smells divine but it wouldn't be any good for mobile babies either. HTH

WriggleJiggle · 29/10/2006 23:54

Thanks NYM

EllieHsMum · 30/10/2006 14:20

I dont fancy big space as my little one is only 5 months old & having checked out the noise level I know she wont like it. Thats why in my original thread I suggested mums with similar aged babies. When we met up the last time we just kinda took over the cafe, which the staff didnt mind. I am still up to meet any of the orginal gang, or anybody else thats has babies of similar age on 31st at 11.00am as previously proposed by Racheluv. Dont have access at home to net at moment come to library to log on.

WriggleJiggle · 31/10/2006 14:05

Hi, sorry I couldn't make it today. Mmmmm been thinking about coffee and cakes all morning. Will try and get to the next one.
