Older mums in Norfolk?

I'm 43 with an adorable 2 year old (and a similarly gorgeous but rather more challenging 19 year old) and wondering if I am the only older mum around. I have made lots of lovely younger friends since having my youngest son but would so love to have a few friends a little nearer my own age. We read in the media that more and more women in their forties are having babies - but are they in Norfolk?!

I'm 38 (but my DD is nearly 9)

I'd like to be too young as well - there isn't a lot I'm too young for atm

Well, 30 is a bit younger than I was thinking of! Lucky you! I'm in Norwich too. How old is your boy/girl? Any recommendations of good places to take little ones?

38 is more like it, Katymac - can't really say that is too young, I'm afraid but you're obviously younger than me, which should make you feel better! I work in Acle actually - two days a week. Have you got any other children?

Oh actually I do have other children - they aren't mine though......I look after other peoples.....lots & lots of other peoples children

I have a 2yr old DS and a 4.5yr old DD.
We like going to the Playbarn in poringland and Monsters in Diss. We all love Eaton Park, Waterloo park and Wensum park.
And for something more cerebral, the Inspire center is great for the kids to get hands on science whilst I have a coffee!

Cupcakes - it's really good for kids, a bit out of the way (sort of behind the Art College. The website is here .

Thetford Forest is another favourite of ours. Brandon Country Park (close to Center Parcs) is smaller but enjoyable too.

I haven't been to the Inspire Centre yet - would like to though. I keep hearing good things about it. We like the Playbarn, Eaton Park and swimming at Riverside - and the tinytots sessions at the library.

Where in N Norfolk are you, Tinytoes?

I'm highly aware that you don't want to talk to me as I'm far too young but it's nice to see so many Norfolk Mums. I'm just outside Norwich too in Thorpe St Andrew, but at 25 I'm a whippersnapper. Just wanted to mention the Dinosaur Park as a lovely day out! I also came across a good magazine for parents of under 5s in Norfolk here
