ok I seem to have the least info so....

Live: Kingston
Work: kind of stretching a point - I;ve been on sabbatical for nearly a year being a f-t student. will be back at work in October. Hopefully 3 days a week if I can pull it off.
Kids dds 6 and 4

sfxmum · 18/08/2006 16:09

just curious do any of you run / jog? i could do with an occasional running buddy (she said hopefully, maybe someone will shame me int dragging self outside in winter)

foxinsocks · 18/08/2006 16:09

foxinsocks

live: Teddington
kids: dd (6) going into yr 2 and ds (4) about to start reception
age: 33
work: accountant/auditor but only doing very minor/minimal local work at the mo till ds is in full time school

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 18/08/2006 16:15

I run. (but not generally all the way to Kew...)I did the Kingston 8 mile run last Sept and although I;ve been very lax recently am thinking of doing it again - it's great fun and focuses your mind on getting out there. fancy it? we could virtually run together - I did this with a friend in north London and it was nearly as good as having an actual running partner

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 18/08/2006 16:16

hello foxinsocks - I knew you were from somehwere nearby - our kids are exactly the same - mine are going into yr2 and reception this year

sfxmum · 18/08/2006 16:21

its encouraging i need to get back out there. i usually run by the river it clears my mind, but hardly been out over the last 3 months mostly due to getting back to work and lack of sleep.
should leave work sometime in mid sep. so i have options other than running at 6am.

i really should be posting this stuff on the main thread i think - sorry

AnnaG · 18/08/2006 16:43

Hello Everyone!!!!

Hello Wheelybug! Wow, someone else in New Malden!

No, I don't run (or exercise!)

Anna

quokka · 18/08/2006 17:32

snap annag

quokka · 18/08/2006 17:32

meant the exercise stuff

foxinsocks · 18/08/2006 17:35

hello hatwoman - did you have another nickname before hat? (think I may have chatted to you some years back but I'm probably wrong!).

MrsBigD · 18/08/2006 17:37

I tried running but it always seems to try and rain when I do so joined a gym

Keep posting your details and I'll update the list on Monday when at work... it's a hard life LOL

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 18/08/2006 18:05

foxinsocks - we once chatted about the playground at Bushey Park - I've been hatter, hatstand, hativity, hatsoff and i think some more (but not hattie who is someone else). I always wonder if you're there when we go to Bushey...

foxinsocks · 18/08/2006 18:22

oh yes, I remember you as hatter! we haven't been for a while but dd has just (as she's turned 6!) mastered cycling without stabilisers so if I can get ds to cycle without creating mayhem, then I'll probably be there a bit more often now!

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 18/08/2006 19:07

we go cycling there loads - dd also learnt this year - we don't go to the playground though - there's a place nearer the Teddington side where you can park and then there's basically a road except cars are only allowed on it to access the rugby grounds - so perfect for little ones to cycle as most of the time no cars

BigKat · 18/08/2006 21:20

Twickenham Newbie in Dubai here- I said hello earlier this week then disappeared- DH was taken ill, and is in hospital- will find out on Sunday if they need to operate- praying they don't - we are leaving here on Sep 1st and heading off on holiday to Spain....

Live: Dubai for the last 18 months- Back in Twickenham from Sep 10th
Work:- Think I can get away with the SAHM role for a while longer- previously Oil and Gas.
Kids:- 1 DS nearly 2

Have just joined Esporta in Kingston- any one else a member there?

fatfox · 18/08/2006 21:37

Hi

I'm not a member of anything sporty, but several Mum's at DS's school are members of Esporta and love it. They do great children's parties as well. The Hawker Centre in Kingston is also great and have hundreds of activities for kids.

What's the weather like there? Are you looking forward to coming back?

Hope your DH is OK and recovers quickly..

suejonez · 18/08/2006 21:46

I can't run. Bosoms too big (and shot knees).

But am a member of Cedars up by Richmond park, v fond of their aqua classes, where boyancy aids (aka bosoms) come in more useful.

Think my aqua teacher also teaches at Kingsotn Esporta - what do you want to know?

sfxmum · 18/08/2006 21:48

at bosomy talk i strap mine up with two bras if needed

suejonez · 18/08/2006 21:52

I strap mine up with two to WALK to Starbucks, running would require (SJ ponders...) a couple of those big net things they shift containers off ships with.

fatfox · 18/08/2006 21:56

My DS's favourie saying a the moment, when I cuddle her is, "careful Mummy, you're sqashing my big boobies". She's 3, not 15.

suejonez · 18/08/2006 21:57

Ah but they start young these days...

foxinsocks · 18/08/2006 21:59

that's exactly where we go hat - I've prob passed you on that tarmac stretch!
