ok so there are lots of threads now that have newcastle in the title! This is a new thread to try to get us all together asap!

There are quite a few people from nearby on the childbirth thread at the moment (qe versus rvi for delivery) so now might be a good time to get people together.

Who's up for it?

I'll go for it Ladida but am away for the whole of August
Any other time!

LaDiDaDi · 02/08/2006 16:20

lucky you spook! anywhere nice?

OP posts:
spook · 02/08/2006 16:20

Sorry-that should read LaDiDaDi. What I wrote sounds like a feminine itch problem.

spook · 02/08/2006 16:21

Ibiza. Am so so ready to lie on my sun lounger for a few weeks.

polo7571 · 02/08/2006 16:33

Count me in too - available almost anytime August but away on honeymoon first week in Sept.

Hippyhoho · 02/08/2006 18:22

I'm up for that, looking forward to it. No plans for August or September (how boring) so jealous of those of you that do.

LaDiDaDi · 03/08/2006 12:02

bump for today

OP posts:
polo7571 · 03/08/2006 15:51

Hi LaDiDaDi
Not familiar with Bump yet - have you had any thoughts on how we should meet up? Seeing as we're all supposed to be practically tea total, suggest a coffee shop? When is your child due? Mines not due until March.

LaDiDaDi · 03/08/2006 15:56

My dd is 12 weeks old!
Yes I agree a coffee shop type place sounds most appropriate. R u another heaton person?

OP posts:
polo7571 · 03/08/2006 15:57

No I'm Low Fell. How are you finding things?

LaDiDaDi · 03/08/2006 19:08

Most days are great and others are a nightmare like today. Dd was 7+ weeks prem so is still like having a 5-6 weeks old iyswim, see my using mummy as a dummy thread in breast and bottle feeding!

How is early pregnancy treating you?

Where would be good for the meet-up, any ideas?

OP posts:
polo7571 · 03/08/2006 19:44

I'm okay so far just the usual, swollen, sore, cramps and tiredness! Think somewhere in Jesmond would probably be best. I don't know very many places, is the Hot Box Cafe still there?

Highlander · 03/08/2006 22:01

think I might be on for it. Hot Box no longer exists. A lot of mums go to Cafe Nerro on Gosforth High St (a ton of room for strollers), but the parking is crap. Adventurelands soft play up in Heaton is nice

Hippyhoho · 03/08/2006 22:33

Hi LaDiDaDi and Highlander
I'd definately be on for Jesmond or Gosforth or I'm sure my 10 month DD would love Adventureland, just took her to Koko's soft play in Byker today, not yet been to Adventureland with her.

Highlander · 04/08/2006 09:43

have you been up to the pool at Byker - DS loves the wave machine (slightly worried he's turning into a bit of an adrenaline junkie!)

LaDiDaDi · 04/08/2006 10:24

I live ridiculously close to Adventurelands so that would be realy convenient for me [selfish emoticon] but could easily go to cafe nerro if that was preferred.

Girls - If you don't mind, think I'll wait a while before meeting up. Feel a bit of a lemon as I'm in such an early stage of pg and don't have any other children.

Kiskidee · 04/08/2006 11:00

i am around most of august but go back to work on 4 Sept. will keep an eye out for dates from you all.

LaDiDaDi · 04/08/2006 11:21

What about popsycal? I haven't seen any of her posts in a while.

OP posts:
popsycal · 04/08/2006 11:25

LaDiDaDi · 04/08/2006 11:50

What about one week today? Friday the 11th at either Adventurelands or Cafe Nerro?

OP posts:
popsycal · 04/08/2006 11:55

Kiskidee · 04/08/2006 12:02

Hippyhoho · 04/08/2006 14:53

No plans for anytime soon, so I'm happy to fit in with the crowd.

Hippyhoho · 04/08/2006 16:16

Hi LaDiDaDi and anyone else that might be interested, wanted to let you know about Baby Social at Heaton Community Centre, Trewit Road. Mondays 1pm to 3pm. It is really lovely, great sensory room environment and it is under 1s only so no big toddlers to knock them about. It is £1 and on all through the year. I've been going since my DD was a few months old and it is the one group I am sad to miss which we rarely do.
