Jambuttie has pointed out the previous thread has got too long, so here is a new thread!

To repeat my last posting: are we all still up for the picnic on Sunday 13 August, Stirling Uni?

So far the takers are:

Toothache
Twiga
Vitomum
Tassis
Jambuttie
Aimsmum
Gscrym
Gomez
Eulalia
Prettybird
Spub
Ja9
chapsmum
Maybroon (possibly)

.... and are there any other takers?

I'm still on for tomorrow - 12.30 at the McRovert Centre. Weather forecaset looks reasonable, so I'' take a packed lunch. Can you alwyas use it the follwoing day for work (and dh for lunch for ds) if we end up eating "in".

Aimsum - I've replied to your e-mail. Sorry you're not feeling well and hope you'll manage the next meet-up.

Gscrym - can't help you with contact details for toothache. Thought I'd be able to find something from the arrangements for the meet-up we had in Falkirk in January, but can't find the
thread (maybe it was deleted because her details were on it! )

I've met Twiga, Ja9 and gomez before, so we should creat a critical mass! I'll have a picnic basket (old fashoned style with the two halves that open out) if that helps!

Not sure I'll be able to do what I've done beofre, which is get a heilum cartoon character ballown - but I'll see!

Morning All - weather in Stirling is overcast and a bit gloomy I am afraid, but at least it is not raining

Not overly warm either TBH so not convinced we have tartan rug/cucumber sandwhich/pink lemonade weather.

Hope to see a few/loads of you soon!

vitomum · 13/08/2006 09:30

well i'm just about to make my sarnies anyway - ever hopefeul

gscrym · 13/08/2006 09:38

I'll bring a packed lunch for DS. The cafe in the McBob is really nice so I'll quite happily eat there. Are we meeting at the Front Doors to the McBob?

ja9 · 13/08/2006 10:12

MORNING. I second what gomez says re weather, in fact it feels pretty chilly, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed for food inside!! I'll bring tartan rug(!) and some nibbles anyway. There's lots of room inside for little uns to run around, and toys for them to play with too.

Looking forward to seeing you later. I'll be wearing a flowery shirt and red trousers if anyone needs help identifying me, but i've met prettybird, twiga, gomez toothie and gscrym so hopefully won't be wondering around solo...

gscrym · 13/08/2006 10:27

I'll be the one repeatedly saying 'come back, don't run off and get off that thing!' to DS who will mostly be laughing and ignoring me.

ja9 · 13/08/2006 19:07

Lovely day. Great to meet some new MNetters and to catch up with those i knew already. All the kiddies did really well tho' i enjoyed being out without mine! Hope you all - especially Eulalia had a good journey home. See you soon.

mawbroon · 13/08/2006 20:02

Well Johnny didn't seem too upset being out of his routine. He has never slept when we are out and about since he was tiny. He's just too nosey!! He passed out in the car almost before I could fasten his carseat straps.

It was very nice to meet you all and I will be looking out for you all online.

prettybird · 14/08/2006 08:50

Just to second Ja9 and mawbroon - it was nice to good to have a reasonable turnout, to catch up with some Mumsnetters I already knew and to meet some new ones.

It was nice to finally meet Eulalia, whose postings are the first I can remember reading when I first came across Mumsnet way back in the summer of 2001!

Hope everyone had a good trip back. Sorry I had to rush back to find ds' ball (which I did) and not say good bye properly!

Yes was lovely to see some 'real' people Have only met Twiga in real life after all these years on Mumsnet. It was quite a long journey though. We stayed on till 5.30 - ended up back in the MacRobert centre. Got home at 7.45 and all the kids slept in the car at various times so didn't want to go to bed till really late!

Twiga · 14/08/2006 20:43

Hi all, sunday was just lovely! Great that such a bunch of us made it, loobie, so sorry to hear about what happened hope you're ok and see you next time hopefully.

Eulalia, good to catch up, you're three are doing great and can't believe how much ds2 is coming on, what a speedy boy!

Really enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing those of you I met last time, gscrym I don't think we chatted too much but hopefully get a chance at next one. Gomez you're looking well and am looking fwd to seeing your birth announcement.

Dd was absolutely shattered by the time we got home but did eat tea really well which was a relief after lunch being such a non-event. Still teethin away but bit less grumpy today.

gomez · 15/08/2006 16:38

Hello - it was a nice day and my apologies for the dodgy weather forecast! Was great to meet old and new, my goodnes we could be reaching critical MN mass in Scotland.....

I was quite excited to see all the babies and can't wait to get my hands on one again - just need to hope number 3 is as cute as the wee ones on Sunday!

I thought all the children behaved very well which was a pleasant surprise I have to say.

prettybird · 17/08/2006 08:50

The children were all very good weren't they!

Gomez - You've got two gorgeous girls, so I am sure that your third will be as cute

Eulalia · 18/08/2006 08:23

prettybird - was reading another thread just now. No way are you older than me! You look so young! (Just had my 41st birthday on Tue)

Hope you are feeling better now Loobie.

I loved the MacRobert Centre - very child friendly - no-one even minded ds1 chucking the Lego about.

Eulalia · 18/08/2006 08:24

Sorry, just realised I have inadvertantly hinted at your age PB - duh!

prettybird · 18/08/2006 08:46

Don't worry Eulalia - I don't mind people knowing how old I am! .... as long as they also say that I don't look my age!

Hope you had a nice 41st birthday - you're looking pretty good yourself!

Eulalia · 20/08/2006 10:26

sweetkitty · 27/08/2006 22:33

Glad you all had a lovely time ladies - so when is the next Scottish meet then? I really want to come to one.

susj · 04/09/2006 20:09

Hello all, i am also a stirling based mumsnetter & i have just found this thread! Bit off topic but just thought some of you might like to know that the macrobert is going to start doing Parent and Baby cinema screenings in October. I went to the first test screening the other day and it was great. I think they are planning to do some films which you can take toddlers to aswell and some that are just for mums and little tinies. Do pass this info on to any other mums in local area, hope some of you fancy coming along!
