Thought I'd be premature and create this thread now.

Currently have this meet up planned:

13th Jan - Miss Tina's in Washington

New year resolutions. Stop living off sugar, drink less, don't shout at the children quite so much.

one of these may be impossible to do at the same time as the others

VikingLady · 29/12/2014 21:02

DD's first three word sentence may possibly have been "fuck off, Buddy" to one of the cats. DM was horrified. She's not repeated it and we don't say it around her now!

One of her earlier efforts was to fill her nappy, stand up, slap her own bum and wander off to the changing mat announcing it was "arse time"! I swear I only ever said bum time!

It is possible that we got careless knowing she had a speech delay.... Grin

Love the sound of your DD Golden!

IAmAPaleontologist · 29/12/2014 21:19

Ooops!

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 29/12/2014 21:57

Ds2 will be repeating "go the fuck to sleep" tomorrow. Seriously, the child falls asleep for 30 mins in the car this afternoon and is still bouncing round at 10pm. Why does he not need sleep??????

IAmAPaleontologist · 30/12/2014 20:14

Because ds2 is like that and our children match. We may not have managed to match them quite as well as we did the first 2 but they match none the less. It is our main mission in life to NOT let ds2 sleep in the day.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 31/12/2014 10:27

You better hope that they don't match too closely. I have a house full of poorly at the moment. There goes the nice lunch out.

MrsTripTucker · 02/01/2015 13:29

I'm amazed my kids don't swear. More luck than judgement I think!

IAmAPaleontologist · 02/01/2015 14:07

I am freezing my arse off.

Dh took the oiks out this morning so I got to work in the nice warm dining room in front of the fire. Now they are causing merry mayhem downstairs so I've been banished to the loft. I'm wearing multiple layers, all wool including a wool base layer, thick slipper socks and slippers and fingerless gloves. Still cold.

Next time we have an electrician in for something I'm getting a heater put in this part of the room.

Need to make a couple of cakes for tomorrow and buy some party food. Can't be arsed.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 03/01/2015 11:39

I've texted and fb paleo but if anyone has an alternative way of getting in touch can they let her know that we won't be coming today. #1 child is very poorly and #3 now says he feels sick.

I don't want to infect everyone with whatever Ds1 has just before back to school.

Sad
Stealthpolarbear · 03/01/2015 11:59

Spiffy sorry to hear that I can tell her when I get there if ok? Hope dcs feeling better soo n

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 03/01/2015 12:58

Thanks stealth, I caught her on fb.

Hope you have fun.

IAmAPaleontologist · 03/01/2015 18:37

Is it bad that I only realised one of the kids from school that didn't reply came to the party when we opened the cards at home? Blush I'd sort of assumed she was one of the kids from rugby who I don't know. Blush

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 03/01/2015 18:49

I get parents talking to me all the time and 1) have no idea who their child is 2)don't recognise the child when they show up either. Meanwhile they know all about me.

Good job we didn't come. All have raging temperatures.

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 04/01/2015 15:48

Sorry Paleo, I managed to forget all about your party until I caught up with the thread just now - hope you had plenty of people and it went well! We wouldn't have been able to come but I should have let you know.

Looking forward to curry soon, I should be able to make it as I don't think we have anything else going on (such rock'n'roll lives we lead...). Is it definitely the 24th or is that still tentative?

IAmAPaleontologist · 08/01/2015 17:19

i just got a new computer and i don't understand it. Windows 8 is weird. May take quite a while to set it up and swap all my data over! Have turned it off again at the moment, it is scaring me. tempted to pretend it doesn't exist and finish essay on pile of crap that keeps overheating but at least is set up just how i like it.

goldenretriever1978 · 08/01/2015 20:29

Windows 8 sounds terrifying, quite frankly.

I'm still up for January 24th, duvin. Everyone else?

juneybean · 08/01/2015 21:10

yes yes!

My brother uses windows 8 and loves it but I still miss windows XP. Why must they update constantly!! I hate change :(

No hours yet. My mentor will be on holiday, waiting to hear from co mentor what her hours are that week. prob won't know until Friday next week.

IAmAPaleontologist · 16/01/2015 14:01

Finally got my hours for next week and the week after and I'm working both weekends. That and I've been ill and still have 2 essays to write so probably shouldn't have curry anyway. is it March yet? i need it to be March.

juneybean · 16/01/2015 14:16

So very nearly March.... Wink

OP posts:
spiffysquiffyspiggy · 17/01/2015 09:45

Oh that's rubbish. Roll on march!

I'm back in the land of the living. The bug that stopped us coming to your party was horrendous. I've only just gone back to work and am still on drugs. Not the best start to the year.

IAmAPaleontologist · 17/01/2015 18:18

Oh goodness spiggy you poor things glad you didn't come and give it to us though

I'm in a grump. Most of week on toilet in bed with bug, wake up today with sinuses screaming and head pounding and snot streaming. Try and fail to have a nap this afternoon before night shift, get up, have shower, period starts. Now tired, snotty, headachy, sinusy, coughy, backache, stomach cramp and have stinky period wind (please tell me I'm not the only one who gets that! ) and i have to go to work in 40 mins.

Humph

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 17/01/2015 19:43

Oh paleo that does sound rotten. Get well vibes heading your way.

Illness here was partly self inflicted. I tried to go to work when I really wasn't well. Did two days and then basically collapsed. Needed to then take longer off to recover than if I'd stayed off in the first place.

IAmAPaleontologist · 17/01/2015 23:58

You daft bat.

goldenretriever1978 · 23/01/2015 19:32

If I could 'like' the last post I would.
