Thought I would start a new thread as the old one is getting full.

Next meet up is on Wednesday 10th April, 10ish at the Durham Botanical Gardens. We will either be in the entrance or staking a couple of the picnic tables by the pond.
I will be giving Vikinglady a lift.

And dh is doing his usual head in the sand, not going to discuss it thing.

Indith · 15/12/2013 10:26

Oh spiggy, I wish there was something I could do Sad

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 15/12/2013 11:42

There was something in the TV earlier about flu and I thought how nice it would be to have two weeks where I couldn't get out of bed. Except I'd have to anyway. Hmm

I've just realised it is 11.30 and I haven't managed to have breakfast yet, which probably isn't helping my mood. So I'm grabbing a bowl of cereal and stuck a Christmas CD on for the kids to dance to. I've lit the smelly Christmas candle and am going to at least get the living room presentable. Dh is out getting his mothers birthday pressie so at least I don't have that to do.

Then I'm making the lemon gin possibly sampling it as well

Indith · 15/12/2013 11:53

lemon fun sounds good. I still have loads of sloe gin, elderberry vodka, limoncello and stuff Grin .

I'm annoyed at our ancient cd player, it is very choosy in what it plays and today is refusing to play any Christmas cds. I really want a new one but it is pay off a stacking system and the rest of it is very good so would cost £££ to get one really. What I really want is one of those hard drive type ones you can load all your cds on so I can declutter the shelves and just sick it on random play instead of having to choose.

Indith · 15/12/2013 11:54

lemon fun? Well i suppose gin is fun.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 15/12/2013 12:15

Our CD player was not working so I threw it on the floor this morning and kicked it. It has realised the error of its ways and is now working. Grin

Next I'm going to take a strimmer to next door's ivy. That should be therapeutic and result in festive greenery. Win win.

have decided that as Christmas is now to be endured rather than enjoyed I have to get on with it. I am only one minor setback away from complete nervous breakdown though. And that's not a joke. Sad

VikingLady · 15/12/2013 19:41

Is there anything we can do? Practically speaking? I don't drive otherwise I'd offer to do the good shop for you, but can you/DH do any online?

Also can you take a couple of days and leave DH with MIL whilst you skive visit your parents with the kids? You can probably relax more with your own folks.

That seriously sucks though. I am really sorry (and sympathise with an ostrich DH).

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 15/12/2013 20:06

Thanks Viking, we'll get through it. It's more the lack of down time that I'm gutted about. I really feel like I'm about to break at the moment. I've already snapped at the boss and I'm getting some help from the new year, thank God. Ranted at my mother earlier and she suggested sending me my brothers valium. I think she was joking...

Lovely friends have plans for the next couple of days. Tomorrow I'm finishing at 3 and going for a meal with one of them before I head off to Birmingham. Then two others will look after me tues night. Plus I get to laugh at one of them flirting with her bossGrin. Hopefully the space will help me calm down.

Failing that I'll take the valium...

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 15/12/2013 22:26

Actually no, I've lost it. Dh promised to help me do my expenses as I hate the fucking forms. They are 9 fucking months late and add up to several fucking grand. I have had to beg to be allowed to still claim them. If I got them in tomorrow I'd get the money at the end of the month.

He goes to have a bath. Ok, I'll log in and start collating dates. He gets out of bath and starts watching comedy programmes. Computer kicks me out, I'm trying to get back in. He starts watching something else. He can see I'm getting increasingly upset but just hopes things miraculously improve. I burst into tears and storm out the room. He still doesn't move. Eventually he goes to bed. Without coming to see how I am. He just can't deal with me when I'm stressed (we are complete opposites under pressure) and I need some fucking help from him or I will crack. He's currently snoring his happy little head off while I sit here, knowing that I've got to be up at 5.30 to get the train to London. I'm not asking for much just a hug and to be told that everything will be ok.Sad

And I've just remembered that I haven't sewn up the hole in the baby's favourite toy. Fucking, bastarding, wankbadgers.

VikingLady · 16/12/2013 08:10

How did you get. On last night?

Kara thank you for the offer but even Thornaby would be a stretch with the grouchy monster/pfb (delete as appropriate according to whether she's smiling at me, am very hormonal) right now. But thank you!

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 16/12/2013 08:50

Haven't done my expenses. Train been delayed by signalling probs so going to be late in. Not seen dh as I left at 6, having been woken by t at 1 and 2.

Shall we say I am probably not in the best frame of mind to be diplomatic today...

Indith · 16/12/2013 09:58

Wine Cake

Shall I go kick him up the backside?

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 16/12/2013 10:05

If you wouldn't mind Indith Grin .

I have a lovely bottle of red in my bag and some lemon gin (pressies for friends). It is socially unacceptable to start drinking them straight from the bottle, on a train, at 10am isn't it? Just thought I'd check. Guess I'll find some cake instead...

juneybean · 16/12/2013 13:04

Stick your receipts in a carrier bag and I'll type them up for you! Good accounting experience right there Wink

Hope you've sourced some cake by now

goldenretriever · 16/12/2013 19:59

Oh dear, Spiffy. I have another tale of sub standard male behaviour. We went to get a train back from London at half 10 yesterday morning and couldn't find it on the board. Oh he announces, it was 10.03. Much arsing around and a fine of 300 quid later...

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 16/12/2013 20:48

300 quidShock Shock . Golden, is he still alive?! I still remind dh of the time he accidentally threw away our return tickets. It was a loooong journey back to Newcastle via coach with a born again Christian attempting to convert us That was more than 10 years ago....

Have been in the pub several hours and a bit late heading to Brum. Blush

TripTuckerIsMineYouVulcanBitch · 17/12/2013 21:16

juneybean · 17/12/2013 22:19

I think we're possibly going to adventure point in the morning tomorrow if you're around?

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 18/12/2013 16:29

Christmas is back on!!!

Turns out the op is much more complex than expected and will require 1 month recovery so had been postponed. Not great for fil but I am so relieved.
I'm also very tired as I was up till 4am and then had to be in work for 8.30. But it was a good party Grin

Indith · 18/12/2013 16:34

VikingLady · 18/12/2013 20:27
