Thought I would start a new thread as the old one is getting full.

Next meet up is on Wednesday 10th April, 10ish at the Durham Botanical Gardens. We will either be in the entrance or staking a couple of the picnic tables by the pond.
I will be giving Vikinglady a lift.

Blimey, it feels like ages since I've been here. Everything still manic, currently doing 3 jobs as well as 3 additional projects. Don't think I've sat down for a week... Did have lovely meeting last week though about producing guidance for employers with breastfeeding mothers. Room full of breastfeeding activists not entirely convinced by my male colleague....till they found out I was still feeding a 2 year old and had insisted on getting involved Grin

Sooo how is everyone? Nights started Indith? How's A taking it?

Are we doing something in Aug without children?

Am hoping to get Tuesdays off over summer so can do something with children then?

ArrowofApollo · 25/06/2013 20:28

I need a night out.
DH and I were talking about doing something for our Wedding Anniversary in September (our 10th) but DD has only ever been put to bed by me and is still waking up. Thing is, I haven't let myself take the opportunity to make myself really scarce and let DH put her to bed. So he thinks I should just do it and hopefully this may help when it comes to our possible night away.

So when do we all want to do it? Am thinking a Saturday night in July or August possibly going to The Capital Indian.
I've checked my diary next day I could do is 13th July?

Hmm dh may be a bit miffed if I ask for the 13th as I'm out the weekend before (the whole weekend!!! Am reliving uni with a couple of friends Grin )

As long as I avoid the Ashes I should be ok for another night though.

ArrowofApollo · 26/06/2013 20:41

Okay, we can look at some dates in August, need to have a quick conflab with DH about which ones.

I am always up for a night out.

How are the nights going Indith?

Indith · 27/06/2013 20:20

Nights were OK, exhausted though!

Not sure about a night out, not too flush on the pennies right now! I have holiday in August though so would def be up for daytime child entertaining!

Indith · 28/06/2013 17:21

balti special garlic garlic chicken garlic is back. me and dh having takeaway tonight.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 28/06/2013 17:34

Mmmmm. Was supposed to have lunch with dh today but had to work through. So he's bought nice wine and lovely food from m&s. Can I get away with putting the kids to bed at 5.45?

Indith · 29/06/2013 10:21

Did 5.45 work?

Put kids to bed. Ate curry from Capital. Ds2 eventually crashed after chewing nipples, being handed over to dh, screaming, dh and I shouting at each other and then coming back to me to feed to sleep. Dh managed to put him down on beanbag. Ate gu puddings. Baby still asleep. Carried baby upstairs. Started to erm...snuggle...for first time in months due to never actually being able to put baby down ever. Baby woke up. Bloody baby.

Anyone fancy coming and sleep training my baby for me? because I'm at a total loss. Right now I'd consider throwing the bf towel in just so that factor can be eliminated. I don't mind co sleeping. I don't mind feeding. But I at least need the fecking child to go down for more than 20 mins in the evening and not be glued to one or other of us at all times.

juneybean · 29/06/2013 11:37

I'd give it a go as I'd like the challenge, can't promise it would work though haha

goldenretriever · 29/06/2013 17:14

Mmm, The Capital. and garlic. And gu puddings.

I managed to get into an argument about cheese last night. I ventured out last night to pick up a takeaway wondering what kerfuffle would occur, as it usually does whenever I attempt to do anything. Bear in mind this is a place I now only go to once a month after they proudly presented my OH with a bottle of wine at xmas for being 'excellent customers'...

When I rang the order in the asked me if I wanted free cheese or donner meat on my 'free' garlic bread I got for spending a lot of money (this is going badly) When I got there they told me they were going to charge me for the cheese as the person taking my order thought it was going to be a more expensive order as he had added up incorrectly and I wasn't entitled to free cheese!!! Needless to say, I ended up not paying for my 'extra' cheese.

Also, after taking the offspring out all morning, my OH said that he would take the pair of them out fir the rest of the day around 3pm. Little head full of plans, I looked out of the window and he had (sheepishly) returned. It was 3.15pm.

Indith · 29/06/2013 18:29

Hmm at your oh. Grin at the argument. Tennis to them all I say.

juney you'll have to watch it. I'll take you up on that. I can't pay but it'll look great on your cvGrin

juneybean · 29/06/2013 18:41

I'll let you feed me cake! Grin

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 29/06/2013 18:57

8pm before they all conked out. Even the baby who was utterly exhausted refused to contemplate sleep. Hmm

Wish I had a magic wand to make the sleep fairy come for A plus I'd make a bloody fortune we used drugs (prescribed by the gp) with m which got him into 4 hour stretches. It is so utterly grin when you can't have any sleep or even some down time without kids.

Indith · 30/06/2013 09:23

drugs would be amazing. I keep finding my fingers typing things like millpond into google. but we are both snotty now. last night was fun Hmm

ishchel · 30/06/2013 10:14

Is having a child free 24 hrs at home. Grin shall bimble off to a free yoga trial session now.

Indith · 30/06/2013 10:34
Envy
ishchel · 30/06/2013 13:07

I recommend yoga (after 1 whole lesson) feeling totally stretched and relaxed.

ishchel · 30/06/2013 19:01

for those of you who seem me around FB. I am on an enforced holiday. Grin I made elderflower cordial today. It tastes lush.

Indith · 30/06/2013 21:06

mmmm elderflower. not gathered any this year which makes me sad. I appear to be rather busy.

enforced holiday? I hope you are ok my dear.

Indith · 01/07/2013 13:17

Dh says as part of my turning old I can go see either, or possibly both Megson and Show of Hands at the Gala in October and November. Does anyone want to come with me? Am very much struggling. Anyone who might have enjoyed it has moved abroad. Selfish whatsits.
