It would be really nice to spend a day at the Bottanical Gardens one weekend. I have a family ticket that will get 5 adults in and unlimited children. We could share costs if more join us
So let me know if you fancy it I am thinking either Saturday/sunday 20/21 may or 27/28 may
we could picnic and let the kids chase the peacocks or roll down the hill Wink
It's a lovely place to visit specially for free

We are back. Got some sunny weather and ran inside when it rained.

Was lovely to meet you Cat64, your girls are lovely and make excellent babysitters Wink

Im very sorry that M was such hard work.

WigWamBam · 29/05/2006 17:42

Glad you had a good time.

When I was negotiating with dh last night I should have been negotiating with dd instead ... she just did not want to go to the Botanical Gardens again. We went to Conkers yesterday and she said it was too similar to Conkers, and she wanted to go somewhere she hadn't been before. She then said "Can't we go somewhere to see some trains or some trams?", so when we looked out at the weather we decided she might be right! So we went out to the tramsport museum at Wythall, then to Sarehole Mill, then on to Nechells to have a look at some of the exhibits from the old Science Museum that are in storage because there's no room at ThinkTank for them.

Sorry to have messed everyone about, but with her not wanting to be at the Gardens she would have been in a terrible mood and would probably have spoiled the day for everyone, so it was best we did something else instead! Nothing so wilful as a 5-year-old Wink

ThinkTank annoys me, cat64. I get really irritated that the Science Museum used to be free, so it didn't matter if you only spent twenty minutes there - yet the replacement has less exhibits, less well presented, and costs an arm and a leg to get in. The stuff at Nechells is in the Museums Collection Centre on Dollman Street, it's not open to the public but they have special open days every now and then. I have asked for email updates so when the next one comes up I'll post about it.

Thanks everyone for coming and being brave about the weather it was just like the boots ad dashing out when the sun shone Grin
It was really nice to meet you Cat and your lovely DD's .
I'll post another one soon as we often waste a day in the gardens and it is always nice to have good company.
