Right, folks, I'm back. Here's my hand up for Blue Hawaii. (And I have 4 Playtex Insulator sippy cups for Uwila.)

I pretty sure dh remembers about this meet-up, but ought to check.

Uwila · 02/05/2006 20:23

Yippee... American sippy cups. Grin

Hi Jura. (hijack alert) Hows the new nanny? Do they go out? I asked my nanny about her and she has not yet spotted her on nannyjob. So, presumably, she is NOT spending the day on the computer.

Uwila · 03/05/2006 08:46

Just 3 of us???? Sad

MrsBigD · 03/05/2006 10:09

Have just e-mailed Blue Hawaii to book a table for 6 people :)

It's because they found out on the other thread that you give your 4 year old a bottle and they don't want to hang out with you now.

MrsBigD · 03/05/2006 15:10

hehehehehe yes probably... I'm such a bad parent Grin

There will be four next time when I can come Grin
But you can't all tell me horror stories about how my life will end when I get Junior home - had enough of that from everyone else. Why do people do that? If their children are such an unmitigated nightmare, why did they have more than one?

Uwila · 04/05/2006 13:29

Because they are cute. Grin

MrsBigD · 04/05/2006 14:09

selectiv memory Grin

fact: life WILL go on but in a different manner
fact: it ain't gonna be easy
fact: still time for times out with the 'girls' Grin

It just gets so wearing the number of people who will do nothing but tell you the bad stuff (does this happen when you're pregnant?). Do they think I'm going to say - Oh now you've pointed it out, I won't bother then.

Shall I start offering to adopt their child if it's all so terrible?!

Uwila · 04/05/2006 15:03

yes, everyone gives you unsolicited advice when you are pregnant, especially if they know it is your first. There's a pregnant woman here where I work. It is her first. She came over for dinner (and to take away my baby stuff) and she said "There is just one thing I want to know. How do you get people to stop touching your belly? Just because I'm pregnant does not make my belly public property." I laughed and told her to touch their belly back. It worked for me -- once.

MrsBigD · 04/05/2006 18:26

re belly touching I had several answers...

  1. did you see Total Recall? 'yes' remember that mutant?
  2. careful it bites
  3. so do you know what your's is going to be? boy or girl?
