Hi. Only been on mumsnet a few months but have noticed majority come from down south. Are there any Sheffield/South Yorkshire mums on? As you can probably guess, I'm from Sheffield!

Gingerbear · 02/05/2006 13:20

12 May 12.30 is good for me - sign up here for a meetup at Winter Gardens Zooby's:

purpleturtle · 02/05/2006 21:19

Fine by me. I'll be bringing ds anyway.

hulababy · 02/05/2006 21:23

Winter Gardens is actually really nice for children - lots of space. And if it is warm we could actually buy sandwiches and drinks from Zoobys and take them outside to the Peace Gardens and picnic on the grass. Maybe not going in the fountains this early int he year though. LOL!

PandaG · 02/05/2006 21:31

I really like the Winter Gardens for the children. Just thought that if I was meeting some people for the first time (and yes I am very nervous about this!) I might like to concentrate on having a conversation rather than looking after DD. If your DS is there though Purple, at least she will know someone to play with. Smile

katzg · 03/05/2006 09:16

can i meet you too purpleturtle and get the bus down, DD2 finishes nursery at 11.45am

purpleturtle · 03/05/2006 14:21

It's not like I don't know you're both totally capable people! lol. Katz, Panda and I will be picking up at 12 - can you get to us by then?

katzg · 03/05/2006 16:11

yep - maybe just slightly after, shall i meet you by the post office on the corner?

hulababy · 03/05/2006 18:04

So sorry :( I don't think I can make the 12th. It is the Open afternoon at DD's new school. DH said he wanted to go. Trying to see if we really need to though as it is just a general open day, nothing specific - and DD has her nursery visit and school day to come this term anyway.

sarahlou1uk · 04/05/2006 22:00

Sorry, can't make the 12th either. As luck would have it, I have already arranged to meet friends at Tots to Tens on that date. Let me know if you arrange any further dates. Sad

hulababy · 07/05/2006 17:09

I can make it afterall :)

Sorry you can't make it Sarahlou1uk. Not been to Tots to Tens for ages now. Is it still as busy as ever? They used to do a very yummy, but naughty, chip butty Grin

sarahlou1uk · 08/05/2006 17:09

Yes, the naughty chip butties are still on the menu but I like the panini & chips!!! Recently put prices up slightly but nowhere near as expensive as Pirate Ship (better atmosphere as well).

SarahLou - this is the first meetup I will be going on, and am hoping there will be more. Perhaps we can organise one for either 9 June (or is that a bit soon?) or early July, so Hula can come, IIRC she is away mid June. Smile

sarahlou1uk · 08/05/2006 17:49

Are any of you due around 16 August when I am? If so, will you be at Jessops? Just trying to guess if August will be oversubscribed and I might be turned away - no beds!!! My mw says that August will be a very busy month but when I enquired at hospital they said every month was busy. Grin

OP posts:
PandaG · 08/05/2006 17:55

I'm not pg (boo hoo) but have at least 4 friends in RL in Sheffield who are due mid - August! Think there must have been something in the air in Nov.!

hulababy · 08/05/2006 17:55

I can probably make the 9th too - that's still a Friday, yes? Could try another venue too - maybe even soft play if anyone fancies it?

No idea about August and whether busy at hospital. LOL! I am not due anytime, sorry. Been 4 years since needed jessops.

WedgiesMum · 08/05/2006 20:47

Tch! Might have known you were doing a term time meet!!! Honestly anyone would think that you were trying to avoid me and the devil children......Wink

Can do anytime after 5 Aug or a weekend tho............

WMxx

hulababy · 08/05/2006 21:03

We will have to definitely do some meet or two once the summer holidays on WM :)

Yorkiegirl · 08/05/2006 21:07

a summer meet would be great.
We didn't do the Sculpture Park last year, and missed Cannon Hall because of the weather!
