And to answer some questions.....

You can bring kids and partners and whoever you like.

Those of you who arent bringing children/partners - thats cool too. As long as you realise that, obviously, there will still be lots of children there lol! Grin

Its not a formal occasion, just a lovely way to meet up and have a natter and let the children get some fresh air and fun etc.

I will find out as much as i can in advance, because clearly, this being the UK, the weather may scupper our plans and i need to find out if there is an indoor alternative very close by, especially since some of you are travelling a very long way to get here. If it is World Cup season, then i think that can only work to our advantage really. Smile

Christina, I am near Epsom. Possibly coming near to wimbledon 1st. Might be easier to get tube from Morden??

magnolia1 · 23/04/2006 22:13

Hubby just said wimbledon is as easy to go from as morden Smile

fisil · 23/04/2006 22:26

Count us in please. DP has orienteering in the diary - but that is mainly a ploy to make him feel fit, and I'm sure he'll decide a picnic is a better use of time. So it's me and two dss for certain, and possibly a dp.

I can only decide whether I can definitely attend when I know what time it starts.

I have to be in the city for 12.30 so can only pop in if it starts earlier than 12 noon. Or goes on later than about 6.

poppiesinaline · 24/04/2006 11:29

oi! why are me and Magnolia1 down as maybes??! We are definites! I think!! Grin

alittlebitshy · 24/04/2006 11:37

put me down as a maybe. would only be me and dd as sunday is dh's busiest day lol.

scared sh*&less.

mini meet up in december (i think it was dec, maybe jan?) was cool, but so many people.. and what if dd plays up? argh!!!

babyonboard · 24/04/2006 15:08

Thomas Coram Fields as suggested by somone on here might be a better bet.
hyde park is enormous, and for non-londoners (and manylondoners) will be hard to navigate.
the fields is closer to all the big train stations, also has lots of loos, petting zoo & play area for any bored tots, closer to shops for any emergencies, and is closer to more built up areas if we need to dash inside at any point ( fingers crossed it will be a sunny daythough)
only prob. is no adults permitted without children..hmmm

sandyballs · 24/04/2006 15:16

I would love to have come to this with my DDs, but it's their school fete and they're doing a country dancing display, so feel obliged to attend really.

magnolia1 · 24/04/2006 17:12

Yep I am a definate and poppies too coz we are leaving our kids and coming together Grin

How much wine shall we bring Grin

babyonboard · 24/04/2006 17:18

hmm..if its many coming without tots then i may have dp take ours out seperately for the day.
for me getting across london with baby = almost ipossible.
me alone..phew stairs/tube/ buses are no problem! heeheee

blueteddy · 24/04/2006 17:20

If I come with DS's, I am paying out for a cab - don't care how expensive it is!
