Double decker bus from Clapham or Victoria with a downstsairs bar. Have done that before, albeit to Epsom races rather than Brighton. I think that could work quite nicely but it would probably be more of a day time "do". Get there for lunch or tea-time.

Trills and cat, I'm planning to get to the hotel about 5.30-6.00, they probably won't let you check in til I get there. Unless either of you are particularly hot to trot pre-drink wise, I could make it earlier.
Have to confess, have not done well on the after bar front. I will be bringing a couple of bottles of wine and relying on being able to buy/scrounge ice.
