I agree with Biwi - if you drink in sufficient quantities you won't remember the pain of the bunion talk and the dreadful schools. And you will in turn breeze around the room chatting to everyone and thinking "well, hey, this is fun and everyone is terribly nice and they all seem to find me endlessly fascinating" but that could actually all be total bollocks. But no harm done at t'end of day if no one remembers what was said.

Biwi and I had such a conversation at our mini meetup (but I did actually think you were a splendid gal, natch). I know it was intriguing and I was sad when you had to leave to get your train - its just that I don't remember quite a lot of it!

Everyone I chatted to was splendid. My history of being stuck is mostly at school dos. The worst year was when I was stuck with a couple who wore eerily similar cardigans [boggle].
They were so awful that DH and I still use cardigans as our code word for 'help, get me away from here before I stab them right through their merino wool covered hearts'.
