I joined Facebook last year specifically for the MN meetup thread.

Did shirleyknot go to the Christmas one? i want shirley to go. Amongst loads of other people, I keep saying on threads 'come to the meetup'.

Can we go to Glasgow instead of London? I was talking to a load of scots MNers on a thread the other day and they all sound brilliant (plus strangers will call us cunts on Sauchiehall Street, apparently )

Formerly that is no excuse. I cam back to the UK twice for meet ups before we moved back.

Yes I joined under my real name last year, but deleted my account after the meetup (couldn't be doing with facebook).

Maryz my XP was really apprehensive about my traipsing to London to a pub I had never been to to meet a load of people I had never met.

I was surprisingly nervous, looking back.

Neither do I, I can be a misanthropic twat at the best of times, I went out for dinner beforehand and got nicely pickled, then couldn't walk in my shoes, then got trapped in the loo cubicle for ages with a jumpsuit/bra/safety pin/spanx knickers debacle.

Everyone I spoke to was marvellous though.

That's the sort of thing I say to my DS "because these are people you know from a forum and they may be lying and they may be paedophiles and you know enough people in real life without getting involved with that nonsense - and yes I'm saying it because I am old and experienced and can sense danger better than you". Hides in shame
