Frank and Belle, have you two met before?

marriedinwhite · 18/07/2012 22:03

Frank and I have wondered if our teenagers have Grin.

FrankWippery · 18/07/2012 22:09

Bella - yep we've met and drank and eaten chocolate together once or twice!

Belle - you know you can stay whenever you want to, I saw your name and assumed it was a done deal.

Indeed marrie.

FrankWippery · 18/07/2012 22:16

Or even married Grin

BelleDameSansMerci · 18/07/2012 22:20

Thanks Frank. Grin

Yay! Grin

BIWI · 20/07/2012 08:46

So - we should start looking for a venue, shouldn't we?

Any suggestions/ideas, anyone?

FrankWippery · 20/07/2012 10:23

I've got a few ideas, but wanted to ask you first what sort of location I should be looking at before I put them forward. Central/City/South Bank?

BIWI · 20/07/2012 10:38

I suppose wherever we go, it needs to be near good transport links, so that people coming from any direction out of London can easily get there - which probably rules out City?

Given Bella's suggestion of an earlier meet at the Champagne bar in St Pancras, I was thinking of something around there - there is an interesting-looking pub/venue in St Pancras itself, but it looked a bit expensive to hire. Hang on, will look it up again ...

BIWI · 20/07/2012 10:41

The Pantry would seem to be the most appropriate size - although obviously that depends on how many people end up signing up to come.

lighthousekeeping · 20/07/2012 12:08

What about that tucked away place opposite Kings Cross next to Starbucks, down an alley. El Caminos is there but there is another bar which has a hidden restaurant in it and its bloody massive, I cant remember the name of it. Very central and good outdoor space.

The Champagne bar is hugely expensive, unless you catch happy hour.

FrankWippery · 20/07/2012 13:38

That's the thing BIWI, until we have a pretty good idea for numbers there's not a huge point in actually looking too hard IYSWIM. Perhaps a sort of cut off date of 20th August or something, then if we have perhaps 5-6 possible venues we can then whittle it down based on cost for canapés/couple of drinks or something?

FrankWippery · 20/07/2012 13:39

Also, will need a rough per head figure. I think last time it was £20, and we had MOUNTAINS of food and out drinks tokens too for that, followed by pay bar. So will we be looking at that sort of amount again?

yellowraincoat · 20/07/2012 13:45

I'm going to have moved from London by then.

Bastarts.

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 20/07/2012 13:52

I have arrived to the fred very late, as usual, but I do like a good meetup. Someone give me a precise as I am too lazy to read all 272 posts to find out whats going on

FrankWippery · 20/07/2012 15:37

Pistey and I have offered in our usual selfless manner to test out several bars on behalf of everyone before we fall into a drunken stupor somewhere while making our final shortlist.

We are doing this because we a very kind people.

Delighted, though not at all surprised, to see that you will be joining us WinkGrin

FrankWippery · 20/07/2012 15:37
