Hello! Does anyone fancy a daytime meet-up for coffee (decaf in my case). There is a lovely cafe that frogs mentioned, or was it bundle, I've forgotten what her mn name is!! It's called Good For Food, 16 Blackstock road almost next door to City & Islington College. I can do any weekday except Thurs any time after 9.45am. Plenty of room for little ones, coffee is good and the cakes look great.

next friday sounds good to me.

Arabica · 24/03/2006 19:29

I can do next Friday, 31st. Pennies, there isn't a play area but they are very child-friendly and there is space for a toddler to move around.

Is that at 10 or at 12, or both!

Arabica · 26/03/2006 12:30

I can do 10 or 12 but would prefer 10.

I'm in for Friday- I can do 10 or 12 but would also prefer 10 as dd is usually very smiley and fun at that time of day!
Same place as you met before, Good for food?

goldenoldie · 28/03/2006 09:05

OK - will see you all around 10am

Pennies · 28/03/2006 09:07

Great - I shall try and make it along with my DD's as well. What's the name of the cafe?

Arabica · 28/03/2006 10:55

Good For Food, 16 Blackstock road (almost next door to City & Islington College). They do cakes, cakes, cakes, and sarnies and yummy deli stuff, and cakes.

I don't know anyone so will someone look out for me? I have a bright red pushchair and a usually happy dd! See you on Friday.

Roshni · 28/03/2006 13:01

I hope to come too – 10am is good time for my ds too. See you all then Smile

Arabica · 28/03/2006 18:44

Well, I have v short dark hair and no kids with me (except for the bump)!

gladys100 · 28/03/2006 21:45

Fingers crossed I should be able to make it too. I don't know anyone either so I'll be looking out for short dark hair, red pushchairs and happy little ones. Please take pity on a new mum wandering around with a 3 month old, probably grumpy, baby boy!

Pennies · 29/03/2006 10:51

Also don't know anyone and also have a red pushchair! Shoulder length hair and 2 x DD's.

bundle · 29/03/2006 10:53

hope to make it too, if have packed bags by then (girls are going to in laws, me & dh going to ireland for the weekend..Smile)

Roshni · 29/03/2006 13:07

I have long dark curly hair. 14 month old ds has ants in his pants and will be running around with long-dark-curly-(unbrushed) haired Asian woman looking harassed, wearing crumpled clothes, trailing after him.

goldenoldie · 29/03/2006 20:37

Can't miss me - I will be pushing the double buggy!

Arabica · 30/03/2006 14:05

I'm not sure if I can make it as I have hurt my back (trapped nerve--nothing too serious), but if I feel better I will be there, wearing a bright pink coat, and cooing over Goldenoldie's gorgeous twins.

OP posts:
oops · 31/03/2006 07:04

and i'll be the one with the 2.5yr old boy racing about eating cake and the 7 month old who wants to be on the floor practising crawling backwards Smile

Arabica · 31/03/2006 13:23

Hope you had a great time, am stuck at home with my bad back feeling about 85 years old. Next time!

goldenoldie · 31/03/2006 13:26

Good to meet you all today.

Arabica - sorry to hear about your back - hope to see you next time.

jenjam - hope you managed to get a bit of kip.

Said i would post art class for toddlers details here.

Art class - 10 - 12 at the Queensbridge Sports and Community Centre. 30 Holly Street, London E8 3XW. 5 mins walk from Dalston Junction. All groups are
Surestart funded - so we pay in our taxes, and not per session attended.

No restriction on attending for those that live outside of the area as the 'boundaries' are disappearing under the new childrens centres anyway. I just insist on attending anyway - have yet to be physically removed!

Also:

Parent & Toddler group 10 - 12 Monday
Music & Movement (over 1s) 10:30 - 11:30 Tuesdays
Mum & baby group (for babies under 9 months) Tuesday 12 - 2:45

Music & Movement (over 1s) 10 - 11 (under 1s) Wednesday

Baby gym 10 - 12 Wednesdays

Parent & Toddler group 10 - 12 Thursday

Art Club 10 - 12, Friday.

Pennies · 31/03/2006 19:17

Yes it was good to meet you all and sorry you coldn't make it Arabica - hope you're feeling better soon.

Goldenoldie thanks for the list of Surestart thingies - I'll definitely be going along to some of them we need some variety in what we do. There's only so may times per week you can sing the Wheels on the Bus...

goldenoldie · 31/03/2006 19:38

Ops - just spotted mistake. Music & Movement 10 - 11 Wednesday is for under 1s.

oops · 02/04/2006 11:06

I'm down with a cold too - lots of bugs about.

Roshni · 03/04/2006 12:47

Sorry to have missed it. We all have colds. Would like my super-hectic ds to get together with Oops' ds – might be good company for each other!

Clissold park sounds good.
