there is proof here that I've just had a baby (any excuse to show off DD).

CountessDracula - believe me, it's not the first time i've been asked if my hair is real

Not wanting to speak in place of Sharklet, but she did have an overnight bag with her, and did go to a hotel that claimed to have no record of a booking. Also, she got a phone call to say that her DD was ill, so she thought it best to go home. She did try to find Crunchie but had to make it in time for the last train, which I gave her a lift to.

crunchie · 28/11/2005 11:56

Nova, thank god she got back OK. That was what I have been worried about!! I am glad she had a good time, I just want to hear from her to explain.

I am going to call the hotel, I am sure they screwed up

ThomCat · 28/11/2005 11:57

Yep, well up for that Beetroot, count me in

crunchie · 28/11/2005 11:58

Me too Beety

handlemecarefully · 28/11/2005 12:00

Any photos of the meet up to post?

novadandypowder · 28/11/2005 12:01

..and i'm up for another meet up if it happens...

gomez · 28/11/2005 12:57

Hello All,

Am now feeling human again after a very tiring (i.e hungover) and long journey home!

It was ace. So many characters, so many bl**dy nice people in one place. Dinner was rotten but the immediate company of Bunglie, Caligula (who is such a sweety and not at all like the old harridan she pretends to be online) and Caremere(sp), Babydriver, Posey and somebody else beginning with 'C' who I can't remember but looked soooo familiar more than made up for it.

All my images of people were well and truly burst - and where were all the old, saggy, worn out wrinkled woman I was told to expect? Too much glamour and style on display for my liking. (Including the glamourous evening wear courtsey of Cost-Co . Too many names to remember.

Hatstand my deepest apologies that you were cornered at the bar and had to listen to far too much drivel about my fantastic kids . It was late however.........

Thanks again Custardo and everyone else I am so pleased I made the effort. And will do so again at the slightest opportunity.

Merry Christmas

Caligula, would have really liked to have had a chat with you about things, I feel I didn't get to chat to you at all and thats a real shame. I, umm, think we needed to be sat down together though didn't we?

Twiglett · 28/11/2005 21:58

I know Floss! I wanted to exchange MIL stories! Next time, eh?

Flossam · 28/11/2005 22:14

Definately.

Bunglie · 29/11/2005 15:20

I think it is time for a Bunglie post on this thread! I was told I am famous for writing in the 'third person' so maybe that is why I have the 'thread killing crown'!!
I am so glad that I came.....
Beety wants another so she can be BAD, well, I think if that is her 'good behaviour' then we need another one so I can see a 'Bad Beety' In those heels I think it should be quite a sight!
I am sorry you could not come Aloha, but it is a great excuse for us to have another one, just so that we can all meet you!
I met so many people that I hope you will forgive me for not remembering everyones names, but it was lovely and you were all so nice and I can hosestly say that everyone I spoke too was fantastic and many of you really do make me feel quite ashamed that my life is so easy compared to some of you... I am in awe of so many people. I just wish that we had not been 'thrown out' and that we could carry on talking etc! I wanted to meet so many people that I did not see and yet I met so many others that I can not remember who was who! 'Drop in the conversation' (is that right??) You were brilliant, us lot smoking all around you and yet you did not mind. I wish I could take a leaf from your book. I want to mention so many of you that this thread would turn into a 'Bunglie, 3rd person singular, personal appreciation thread, so please forgive me.
I must mention Sharklet as I do not want her to feel bad about not staying or anything. I too am a bit confused that the hotel did not expect you as we gave them your RL name and your proper name, Sharklet! I was more concerned that you had had an accident or worse still seen me, thought Ahg! I'm not sleeping in the same room as 'that' tonight and scarpered quick! .
Don't worry about the bill or anything, it is all sorted out I am just really sorry that we did not meet and that you could not stay as you had planned. Someone said that your dd or ds was not well, I hope that they are better now. I am just really sorry about the 'mix-up' and I hope that we do meet soon, as I am sure we can find an excuse for another meet-up very shortly??
It was great sitting where I was, watching Gomez and her unique ability to keep my wine glass full! I am sorry I did not manage to talk to you Delgirl, but hopefully that will be rectified on the 7th (that is if I am not banned?)
It was a wonderful evening, and I hope that there is another one soon......please?
Thomcat, you were positivly blooming and where you found the energy to dance from after that enormaous meal I just don't know.
I want to write so much just to thank people and I know that this has turned into a 'Bunglie Chronicle' already so I shall not, but Thank you to Custy and to Crunchie for their organization and also to those of you 'in the know' and for your support when I got a bit emotional. I will always be amazed at the generosity and the uniqueness of Mumsnetters and it really was a privilidge (where is that spellchecker???) to meet you all.
Thank you ALL of you and I can not finish this monologue without thanking you all again for tolerating ,my wheelchair, helping me slide up and down the steps and even hold the door open to the mens loo for me I must admit It was lovely not having to wheel myself there (thanks Crunchie) but can anyone remember how Beety and I got back to the hotel I know she was pushing but I can't remember getting up the steps!! Hmmmm?
I just hope that everyone else had a good time as I really would recomend it for fading little wallflowers like me who had never been to a meet-up before.....

Bunglie · 29/11/2005 15:41

Pssst...You want something bitchy?

EssBee....Came down to breakfast, looking immaculate, no sign of a hangover and she looked perfect, ready for church!
Me, I felt as if my throat had been disconnected from my stomach....my head was back on the pillow in the hotel room and felt as if I needed the wheelchair because finding my mouth to pour a cup of tea in was about my limit!
So I am having a bitch about EssBee, looking so good, fresh and full of life.....why didn't she at least have a little bit of a hangover???

So many people I wanted to meet essbee (again) Thomcat (in person) Bunglie of course, not at all sure I wanted to see Beety again as she is FAR too svelte, lots and lots of you. I want another meetup, please.

Flossam · 29/11/2005 23:45

Bunglie, so glad you seemed to have had a good time in the end, Bubble and I talked to you just after you had first arrived and you looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights bless you heart.
