spidermama · 26/11/2005 19:34

I'm here. I tried so hard to get there. I overcame so many barriers but more were erected and in the end I had to give up.
I'm very fucked off actually.
I bought make up. I grew my nails fgs!
I feel hard done by. DH might well cop it when he gets back from his showbiz jolly.

aloha · 26/11/2005 19:40

Dh didn't get home until just gone seven, having said he'd be home at six. He NEVER does this. OK, it was a misunderstanding but I am really fed up. I am currently wearing a skirt with sequins on it, fishnets and sodding high heels. Am now going to buy one or possibly more bottles of wine. Am so fed up. Have texted the gathering via Motherinferior. Feel horrified that people will think I am a fraud and not going because I don't want to. Offered to text picture of said shoes but sadly MI has jurassic era phone.
Bugger, bugger, bugger.
What's on the bloody telly then?
(This was my ONE night out in the whole year!)

aloha · 26/11/2005 19:41

I bought makeup too! Becca makeup stick and lip gloss - cost me £40! And I got my hair cut and coloured! And I won't tell you what that cost.

NomDePlume · 26/11/2005 19:42

Can you not just show-up late, aloha ? I'm sure an hour is nothing inthe grand scheme of the evening and the girls'll forgive you

spidermama · 26/11/2005 19:42

Can't you still go aloha? They're planning to be there 'til about 2am you know.

NomDePlume · 26/11/2005 19:42

great minds, spidey !

WalkinginaRainbowWonderland · 26/11/2005 19:42

spidermama and aloha...

You tried! We'll all hear all about it soon enough I'm sure!

I really did think about it, but by the time dh got home and I was able to detach baby, brush my hair and apply said lipgloss, it was 7.30 - I'm probably an hour away at least by car and the parking is - says MI - a complete mare. Can't face walking two miles on my own to the restaurant and arriving when everyone has a/eaten b/got pissed.

Dh OWES me! He is currently bathing kids.

aloha · 26/11/2005 19:46

I even picked out photos of the children to take!

NomDePlume · 26/11/2005 19:46

Big style, I'd say, aloha.

Whizzz · 26/11/2005 19:47

MistleToo · 26/11/2005 19:48

just popping in to say 'hello' and isn't it peaceful - am babysitting

NotQuiteCockney · 26/11/2005 19:48

It sounds a bit daunting, an outing with that many people.

I will probably manage it, if it happens next year, though, as DS2 will probably no longer need to be boobed to sleep. By then, I will (in theory) have guest bedrooms available, too.

spidermama · 26/11/2005 19:49

That's got to be Gere Whizzz. No-one would notice if Ken visited surely.

JessicaandRebeccasmummy · 26/11/2005 19:49

a bit TOO peacefull though dont u think??? sorry - 1 handed typing, sleepin baby in other arm!

ROFL ! When I clicked on the thread to read it MistleToo was the last poster (NQC's must've crossed) and so I read NQC's post as if it were written by MistleToo and actually 'd at DS2 needing to be 'boobed' to sleep . I think MistleToo's DS2 is in his late 20's/early 30's !!!!

seb1 · 26/11/2005 19:51

I'm here

foundintranslation · 26/11/2005 19:54

B - I was once referred to as a 'mini Shakespeare' in the local paper
