Leggy - I will most likely be free on the 26th? Could meet up for cake then, what time would you be thinking?

spiggy · 12/07/2011 15:53

did someone say cake Grin I can do 26th

am celebrating today- a lovely, lovely person at the tax credits fixed the cock up and we've just got a back payment of £1.5k! which will come in very handy as we have just found woodworm in boy1's bedroom

juneybean · 12/07/2011 18:32

Ohh fantastic spiggy!

I could make 26th depending on the times?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 12/07/2011 19:51

Woohoo Spiggy, good news about the tax credit, less so about the woodworm! Is it a bad infestation?

spiggy · 12/07/2011 20:36

looks like just M's room, it wasn't there 2 years ago when we had the carpet up to re-wire so can't have been going for too long. Will be able to buy an oven as well, we've been living with just a hob and combi microwave for 6 months. DP has been dying for a roast dinner Grin

LeggyBlondeNE · 13/07/2011 10:11

Spiffing! What about 12.30 on the 26th, so T can have lunch off my plate?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 14/07/2011 12:36

That sounds good to me!
Lunch and cake.

FrozenNorthPole · 15/07/2011 10:54

30th is good for me - it will be SOOOOO good to get out.

Just a quick plug for my thread in Media/Non-member requests:

Here.

It's a series of questionnaires about attitudes to food, body image and mood. If anyone wants to know more there's a link in my OP.

spiggy · 15/07/2011 12:28

done Smile

FrozenNorthPole · 15/07/2011 12:40

Thank you Spiggy! Muchly appreciated.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 15/07/2011 20:59

So where do we want to go on the 30th?

StealthPolarBear · 16/07/2011 09:10

Congratulations Indith :o

I can possibly do the 26th if in Durham, but if you want it somewhere else for a change then do that - don't include me in plans but if I can make it I will

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 16/07/2011 09:12

Sorry, don't think I can make the 30th for a number of reasons - it's been an expensive month so far, am busy over the next few weeks with job applications and inerview(s - hopefully!) and also am on a strict diet at the moment so would be a bit of a miserable dinner companion!

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 16/07/2011 09:14

Being pedantic I probably should have said "did she really?" as I doubt she does now :o

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 16/07/2011 09:15

wrong thread, sorry Blush

KaraStarbuckThrace · 16/07/2011 09:53

Just to summarise

26th July 12:30pm Cafe Continental? Or somewhere else?

30th July 8pm? Where are we going?

LeggyBlondeNE · 18/07/2011 09:21

What about Esquires on the 26th? It's my new favourite because it has nice seats and high chairs...

(CC have a booster seat so happy to be overruled)

KaraStarbuckThrace · 18/07/2011 10:24

Fine with me! Where is it?

spiggy · 18/07/2011 10:52

sounds good. I might not be able to make the 30th now- I hadn't realised that it was the weekend of the air show which I have to go to. Not sure if I will be fit for anything after a day out shouting at with the children.

LeggyBlondeNE · 18/07/2011 12:30

Esquires is on the town side of Framwellgate Bridge on Silver St, opposite Bella Pasta and Cafe Rouge. Nearest parking is probably the Gates.

Right - Spiggy! Indith! There's a nasty rumour they're planning to axe homebirths in Durham, I've been told by a BF supporter I know to get to the maternity services meeting on Wednesday at Stanley to be strident about this. Spiggy do you still have any MW contact to confirm this (probably all health visitor by now though)? Indith likewise are you seeing a MW soon?

spiggy · 18/07/2011 15:08

I heard that too but I don't come under Durham so don't know the details. Tis appalling if it is true- I believe a birthing unit was affected as well. It was part of a group that foxy added me too on FB- I'll see if I can find it.

Don't think they can refuse to attend a homebirth though. I sent a stroppy letter to the Chief Exec of my hospital saying that they were damn well going to come out and they better think of a plan to facilitate it pronto when my hb letter said that I would have to go to hospital if there was another hb already in labour as they could only do 1 at a time. Reply was basically "sorry, dreadful mistake, of course you will have a hb, grovel grovel" I got the supervisor of midwives attending my birth as the 2nd mw. Don't know if that was connected to my letter Grin Do you think they mean they will stop promoting hb? Only the stroppy clued up will get it?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 18/07/2011 18:39

Bishop Auckland Matenity unit is closed for 2 months due to staff shortage.
And yes I did hear that HBs have been banned in Durham!

I must confess to now having second thoughts about the night out, bit strapped for cash at the moment.
Could we leave it for a month or so? I'll still come up for lunch on the 26th?

StealthPolarBear · 18/07/2011 22:05

I don't honestly see how they can ban homebirths Confused I want to know more though - that is appalling!
I think we have found a lovely CM for T after school :) Am annoyed with myself for putting it off for so long - I assumed it would be a nightmare, as there are only about 3!

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 18/07/2011 22:07

CDDFT still talks about home births (and that's on the page that takls about the closure of the maternity unit, so recent)

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 18/07/2011 22:07

Wonder how that would affect their UNICEF baby friendly accredition
