OP posts:
stickylittlefingers · 24/06/2011 16:53

hello... I have a prior engagement on the 29th, but have found this thread and put it on watch... would be great to meet up during the summer when the girls are needing entertainment and I am needing sanity :)... here's hoping for long summer days and picnics!

cosysocks · 24/06/2011 22:25

Hi spiggy I'm a Shields Lass, are you up this end?

spiggy · 25/06/2011 21:42

I'm Boldon so in S Tyneside- not too far away!

I was thinking about a Newcastle meet- would it be good to do cake, followed by a trip to one of the museums? That way it might be good for those without kids/older kids to meet for the cake and then something to keep the younger ones occupied afterwards. Hancock has a Dinosaur and Discovery has buttons to press (we were there the other day)

Was at Botanics today- Note to self- when feeding baby in the sun, you may need to apply suntan lotion a bit lower that you usually do.....

Indith · 28/06/2011 08:55

Little bump ahead of tomorrow.

Spiggy Newcastle sounds good, both museums are great, Discovery perhaps best to cater for all ages though, especially if we time it when the water play bit is open.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 28/06/2011 15:17

Mmm lunch and cake.

Bang goes the diet Grin

Indith · 28/06/2011 17:56

Diet? What's that then?

DamselInDisarray · 29/06/2011 09:03

I will be coming, with DS2, providing I can find somewhere to park.

Indith · 29/06/2011 09:15

Look forward to meeting you Damsel. Parking usually pretty easy, there are generally spaces along Old Elvet or if you follow signs to the Prince Bishops carpark then that is right in town so not far from the cafe. I like parking in The Sands by the river near the swimming pool.

Do you know where you are going? I'll PM you my mobile jsut in case :) We'll be the ones taking over the downstairs of the cafe Grin

KaraStarbuckThrace · 03/07/2011 13:51

Night out!
Am proposing following dates
16th July
30th July

Where do we want to go?

FrozenNorthPole · 04/07/2011 19:53

Marking place Grin

FrozenNorthPole · 04/07/2011 19:54

Both dates are do-able for me. And I really shall try and come this time ... DH is not away anywhere sandy and bullet-y so is able to babysit.

Indith · 04/07/2011 21:07

Gosh kara you are way too eager for someone who has just given birth!

Erm, cogs are turning in brain. Slowly. Will get back to you.

Frozen would be lovely to see you! Been ages! A DH who is in the country and free from bullets must be a bonus Grin.

stickylittlefingers · 05/07/2011 17:21

hello -night out? Yes please :)

spiggy · 06/07/2011 12:45

can do either night but will have to bring T with me (if I put him in the sling he'll probably sleep.)

I haven't moved from the sofa from 8:30 this morning after feeding all night- gotta love a good growth spurt- at least the other 2 are at nursery so I can watch tv and play on t'internet in peace Grin

Indith · 06/07/2011 19:38

Hope the boy doesn't decide he needs to feed all night too Spiggy!

I think I am going to give this one a miss. I'm erm, a little bit pregnant Grin. Food is a delicate balance at the moment so paying for it in a restaurant could be a bit of a waste!

juneybean · 06/07/2011 23:07

Shock !!!!!!

Congratulations!!! Grin

spiggy · 07/07/2011 09:07

YAAAAAAAYYY!!!!! Congratulations, when are you due? [nosey] 3 is great Grin

boy did feed all night but has gone from newborn clothes to 3-6 in a day Shock

stickylittlefingers · 07/07/2011 11:57

Indith :) - wonderful news! And hope your stomach settles soon.

Spiggy - simultaneously impressive and frightening...

KaraStarbuckThrace · 07/07/2011 14:22

Indith - squeeeeeeeeeeeee! And if it is another girl, as well as all the stuff you lent me you'll be getting a some extra as well :)
Hope the MS passes quickly!

Spiggy - wow that is impressive! Think C might be over 8lbs now, am getting out the 0-3mth stuff for her! Newborn stuff getting a bit tight especially over her cloth nappies. Still using disposables as well, because most of her BGs are still a bit too big on her so they leak on the legs. BTW I probably will be bringing C along as well.

Frozen - would be fab if you could make it too! And you to Juney!

I am going to invite my friend M along too.

Shall we say 30th? To give us plenty of time to book?

Indith · 07/07/2011 16:02

Wow Spiggy, what are you feeding the boy?

Amazing how fast they are both growing, they really don't stay all scrunchy and new for long do they.

Due in February, so at least I'm spacing out the birthdays a little bit!

spiggy · 07/07/2011 16:27

Dec, Jan and Feb- gives you all year to save up! Hope the sickness passes soon. I must warn you that #3 doesn't seem to stop the urge to add another....I could happily plan #4. DP on the other hand has said NO. Grin

30th good for me.

Indith · 07/07/2011 17:38

Oh goodness don't tell dh that.

Mind you before/when pg with dd I knew that I wanted more. This time it feels very much final. It somehow seems completely and utterly right that this is the 3rd and final one.

The sickness is not throwing up but all day general nausea. If I get hungry then I feel sick so have to keep snacking except that when not hungry the thought of pretty much anything makes me feel sick. Have eaten a lot of toast recently! And melon. Melon is good. But I have run out of melon and only have the raspberries that my mum brought fresh from their garden on Tuesday when she picked the kids up. they are festering in the fridge and going fluffy because I can't stand the thought of eating them Hmm. Not told her I'm pg yet by the way, stay away from FB!

spiggy · 07/07/2011 19:12

have you tried seabands? I found they didn't stop me being sick if I was going to be sick but they did stop the all day nausea.

I thought that with the pg but the birth changed things! I think perhaps I am a birth junkie. Or is it the thought that 4 would be neater (esp if it was 2 boys, 2 girls!) Nope, can't have another- it might be a boy and we would NEVER agree on a name Grin

KaraStarbuckThrace · 08/07/2011 17:03

There has been times when I have thought, mmm maybe I would like one more! But DH is totally against it (he is considering having a vascetomy) and then I remind myself how awful I felt being pregnant (especially last few weeks) and how painful labour was! Plus sore nipples! DD is still feeding okay but she is a velcro baby and when awakes she feeds and feeds and feeds. And then just when you think she is finally asleep and put her down, she poos.... and then it all starts again.

LeggyBlondeNE · 11/07/2011 09:31

Ooo, what lovely news to come back to cold Blighty to! Congrats Indith!

Sadly we have guests on the 30th. But when's the next cake meet? I am doing nothing but normal work for the whole summer now!

In fact, anyone free Tuesday 26th? I'm being observed with the baby by another academic (needs a whole day of mother-infant interactions) so won't be working. Going to revisit Bumps and Babies in the am, but otherwise will be at a loose end.
