Seems like we haven't had a City meetup for ages, now that Kayleigh's gone and got herself a life. Anyone fancy meeting for lunch in (say) Starbucks on Appold Street? Some time midweek in late November, for example?

All suggestions re dates/places welcome!

Hi Ladies,

Would you be willing to let a new girl join you for lunch?

I cannot guarantee that I won't chicken out tomorrow or end up stuck in a meeting but I would love to meet other City mums and have a good, non-work related, natter...

Marina · 23/11/2005 09:42

I am sure that will be fine Novembergirl do come along. Sorry you can't make it CD.
See everyone else there at 12.30pm!

binkie · 24/11/2005 09:35

beachyhead, I saw you thought we should try to bag a big table around 12.15? If you still want to start that way I could come over then & help bag? (You will be unmistakable with a 13-weeker - if you and I haven't met before, big sorry if we have & I've forgotten, I will have floor-sweeping Sovietstyle black coat with black furry collar.)

frogs · 24/11/2005 09:43

I'll try and come early, and will have dd2 (age2) in tow. Binkie, at floor-sweeping soviet style furry coat. Must dig out my purple woolly coat and make sure the moths haven't eaten it all.

See you all later!

Morning ladies - guess what? I'm stuck at home laid up with the cold and cough from hell. Great hey - just start to feel normal again after my constant nausea disappeared and then this hits me! The joys of only being able to take paracetemol when you're up the duff!!!

Was so looking forward to seeing you all again...and meeting mini Beachyhead! I guess the good news is that by the time we get together again...I should as least have some kind of bump to show you. Feeling and looking decidedly un-pregnant at the moment!

Marina · 24/11/2005 09:56

I'll be there early too as due to an outbreak of man flu in the workplace we are short-staffed again! And I need to leave promptly at 1.30pm
Sorry to miss you HBA, hope you feel better soon. Tucked up in bed is the best place to be, unless you have a coat like binkie's!

bundle · 24/11/2005 09:56

girls, sorry won't be able to make this one, off to sevenoaks to interview expert on handwriting (!). hope to make another one soon, xx

binkie · 24/11/2005 10:23

I'm going to have to sew the missing buttons back on, aren't I? OK will do it now.

Sorry to miss you, bundle and hbagaddn.

Looking forward to a new face ...

Marina · 24/11/2005 10:33

bundy, sorry about that. Are you coming to the blanket bee on Sunday? If not, could you be a real pal and post me your squares?

Novembergirl · 24/11/2005 10:46

Hi Ladies,

Bit nervous about approaching strangers looking for MNers so have brought along a copy of an NCT magazine - with baby on cover - to try to make me stand out from the usual City crowd. I will be wearing black and, if you look carefully, you may spot the baby dribble I was treated to this morning!

Perhaps you could look out for me (and I will keep an eye open for sweeping coats (wish I had my warm coat today) and a little one.

Kayleigh · 24/11/2005 10:49

I'll be there. Am really looking forward to it.

HBA wish you better. Go snuggle down under a duvet and watch crap day time telly

Kayleigh · 24/11/2005 10:50

Novembergirl, will look out for you. Look forward to meeting you.

frogs · 24/11/2005 10:52

Hi Novembergirl

I will be wearing big purple coat (can't miss it) and pushing a buggy containing what appears to be a small red duvet, but is in fact dd2 bundled up in her new winter anorak.

LOL Frogs they look like little cross cushions don't they, all scrunched up with just a red nose showing.
Novembergirl, I will be wearing a dark green coat and possibly brandishing some knitting.
See you all there!

CountessDracula · 24/11/2005 11:31

sorry am really not going to be able to come now due to pathetic hysteria

binkie · 24/11/2005 11:33

So sorry - saw your other thread, and wanted to join in to say I have been there too. It will pass, really it will.

vivat · 24/11/2005 12:05

not looking good for me now - so looking forward to catching up with you all. It's been ages. Hope you have/had fun and I'll hopefully make it to the next one.

Vivat xx

dinosaur · 24/11/2005 13:59

Good to see you all and nice to meet you, Novembergirl!

Successful mission to Hobbs, you'll all be pleased to know. "Impractical suede" won out over "sensible leather that could also be worn to work". Oh well. At least I had the sense to say no when she asked me if I wanted to take them in brown suede as well.

Kayleigh · 24/11/2005 14:12

Lovely to see you all, especially babybeachy. Nice meeting you Novembergirl, hopefully we'll get a chance to chat next time.

Dino, glad you got sorted on the shoe front. Suede will be perfect for saturday night if we get the snow the weathermen are forecasting

Venue was a bit nippy. Maybe we should use Spittalfields as a summer meet-up venue. Am still trying to thaw out here !

dinosaur · 24/11/2005 14:14

Yes, beachyhead, your tiny promontary is very sweet!

Kayleigh, I am planning to wear my trainers until I get there and change into my new suede shoes in the loo. Only knowing me, I'll manage to leave them on the tube...

Kayleigh · 24/11/2005 14:18

Maybe you could attach them through your coat on string a la childrens mittens. You may look stupid but you won't lose your shoes

dinosaur · 24/11/2005 14:19

Heh heh. I will sit on the edge of my seat and clutch my bag nervously in both hands, like an old age pensioner on an outing. Which, in fact, iis more or less what I will be.

Kayleigh · 24/11/2005 14:20

LOL

Novembergirl · 24/11/2005 14:46

Great to meet you all at lunchtime; I am looking forward to chatting some more next time. Really pleased that I did not chicken out today, as it was good to meet up with other City mums.

beachyhead · 24/11/2005 16:48

Great to see you all. Successfully bought my dad a present in the market.......hope Saturday goes well, Dinosaur. Report expected next time........see you
