Alouiseg · 06/04/2011 07:57

Random post there Fellatio! Are you sure you're on the right thread?

FellatioNelson · 06/04/2011 08:02

Not random. Val said it will be like a Friday night on MN. Friday night is bumsex night!

FellatioNelson · 06/04/2011 08:03

Not in my RL. Blush I mean in the drunken cyber-madness that is Mumsnet.

Alouiseg · 06/04/2011 08:22

Ha ha ha! Freudian slip?!

FellatioNelson · 06/04/2011 08:35

No, not at all Madam. How very dare you. (chance would be a fine thing.)

thefirstMrsDeVere · 06/04/2011 10:02

how exciting. Its getting all busy!

I will be getting the last tube home. The fecking Victoria Line better bloody be bloody working.

A cab from Clerkenwell to the Stow is friggin expensive.

GetOrfMoiLand · 06/04/2011 10:04

Where is the Stow?

Stow on the Wold?
Plaistow?
Stowford?

GetOrfMoiLand · 06/04/2011 10:05

I got all excited last night on laterooms - found a hotel room in Islington for £23.

Turned out to be a backbacker's hostel.

Have found a cheap Holiday Inn in Limehouse - is about 2 inches away on t'map.

nickelbabyhatcher · 06/04/2011 10:07

smokinaces where in SE? i'm coming up from sittingbourne on the Canterbury train.

GetOrfMoiLand · 06/04/2011 10:07

Or a Travelodge in the Excel centre in Docklands (I don't even know what that means).

DP said last night 'why don't you just go clubbing all night and then get the first bus back in the morning' Grin

thefirstMrsDeVere · 06/04/2011 10:17

Oh getorf bless Its Walthamstow.
You are going to be ok in London arent you

Grin
Alouiseg · 06/04/2011 10:28

That was my first thought getorf why rush for the midnight train when the 5 am will be perfectly adequate. Then I realised that I'm 41 and wouldn't get past the door whores at Fabric (just round the corner from Clerkenwell ;-)

For hotels try last minute, secret hotels. Put in the ec post code because theses hotels are very quiet at weekends and are set up for Monday to Friday business bods.

GetOrfMoiLand · 06/04/2011 11:54

Oi am so excoited about moi trip up to that there London town

Thanks - that's a good idea about looking for secret hotels, I have done that before and got a bargain.

I do sound like a complete pleb don't I. Just a bit dubious about using public transport after a few sherberts - I did that before in Spain, fell asleep on the train, woke up in a panic and got off, sozzled, at 5 o clock in the morning, not knowing where on earth I was.

I sat there on the platform in my finery and had the feeling of shame when all the morning commuters came on the platform and gave filthy looks to the english slapper sat there with her shoes on her lap.

Got on the first train which came and ended up going 40 miles in the wrong direction from where I needed to be.

Moral of the story - don't walk off in a strop saying 'I will make my own way home the, sod you' without actually knowing where you are going or being sober enough to make reasoned judgements. Grin

smokinaces · 06/04/2011 13:43

I'm coming from Ebbsfleet way nickel, so the fast to St Pancras.

Wont be able to afford train and ticket and hotel, so will have to get the last train home.

I just thought though, if the train is 9 minutes past midnight do I need a Sunday ticket or will my Saturday day return be ok?!!

KBlatherskite · 06/04/2011 13:59

Is no-one else going back to Euston?

thefirstMrsDeVere · 06/04/2011 14:13

I would probably go back there to get the tube blathers Its on the Victoria line.

Although I am toying with the idea of a whole double bed to myself in a hotel.

No how silly. A hotel! I live in London.

nickelbabyhatcher · 06/04/2011 14:14

ah, we have a high speed train, but i don't know if it comes from ebbsfleet (off to google)
I don't normally get it, because it costs more, but the journey time isn't any shorter (seriously - it beats it by about 5 minutes!)

nickelbabyhatcher · 06/04/2011 14:16

ooh, i think it is the same one

KBlatherskite · 06/04/2011 14:43

I'd love to do a hotel but DH has to take his parents to the airport on Sunday morning so I need to be home for the children - not that i'll be much use after an MN piss up :)

Would be nice to have someone to go back to Euston with if you're heading that way....

methodsandmaterials · 06/04/2011 18:29

Don't know if this helps at all tfmdv or if the thought is too horrifying to consider, but the N38 goes from close to the C&W all the way to Walthamstow Central.

getorf the Docklands are miles away from the venue. I've got a friend coming over later but after that I'll have a look for more hotel options.

methodsandmaterials · 06/04/2011 18:30

Ooh, I see that we're close to The End of the thread. Could someone start a MN Spring Meet-up Part II when the time comes?
