OK so giving this a thread all of its own.

We're having an evening christmas meet up.

TGI Fridays in the Victoria Centre (we think!)

No kids, loads of wine and craic.

so what date are we going for then? [loads up ical with excitement!]

Tee2072 · 21/09/2010 13:31

Okay, just spoke to TGI's.

They are doing a set menu in December, all days still available (if you haven't been there, it's huge!). The set menu is 3 courses for £17.95, includes appetizer platter per 4 people, choice of chicken/steak/Jack Daniels Grill/Fajitas/and something I can't read my handwriting on Blush and then pudding.

OR

We can just book a table for however many of us there are, and not do their set menu. They aren't doing specific nights with special entertainment or anything, like other places do. So then we could just do drinks and appetizers if we wanted, which might be cheaper in the long run?

What does everyone think and what day do we want to do?

dingdong3 · 21/09/2010 15:51

Love it - like the set menu idea but maybe that's just because I missed lunch!

I personally think the 17th is a bit too close to Christmas and that when it comes to the day, more people would be likely to have to back out for kids/family/work/shopping reasons.

How about the 3rd or 4th?

booyhoo · 21/09/2010 16:21

sounds great tee. set menu sounds lovely but i dont care either way. i think earlier in the month will be better for me babysitter wise so i vote for earlier.

Tee2072 · 21/09/2010 16:57

I'm fine with the set menu as well. Of course the £17.95 includes no booze! Grin

Let's give everyone another day or so to respond. I'm actually going to be at Victoria Square on Thursday, so I can pick up a brochure maybe and see what the thing is that I can't read my handwriting on! And I forgot to find out if they need a deposit!

bottyburpthebarbarian · 21/09/2010 17:03

i'll be there regardless!!!!

Dione · 21/09/2010 21:23

Sounds cool. I too would prefer an earlier date if that's possible.

Bishoplyn · 21/09/2010 23:00

Hi! Count me in. Am loving the sound of the set menu too. Could do either 3rd or 4th but 4th would be better.

Tee2072 · 22/09/2010 12:21

Okay, here's what I am hearing: -

4th December best date for all.

Set menu preferred.

Deffo going:

Tee
Dione
Bishoplyn
Botty
booyhoo
dingdong
LMSS
TLC
WKMS

So that's 8 for sure.

I'll give everyone until Friday, and keep bumping chat shout out. I may need money for a deposit, but if its not too much I can cover and people can pay me back. Once I have more definite numbers I'll ring and book.

Ooohhh...what time?!?! 6? 7?
