Had anyone got any tips or advice, I have started fast 800 keto diet , I thought the book was easy to understand however on my first day I have found it difficult to have 50g carb, 50 gram protein under 800 calories, I will revisit the book tonight as maybe I have misinterpreted

I'm doing the online Fast800 (only on 2nd day). It's a total no brainer. Each meal/day is all planned out. It generate a shopping list etc. Food is very tasty & easy to prepare - I'm very optimistic about it.

waltty · 01/03/2022 20:08

Thank you , I will have a look

Would you mind if I asked did you do the free trial or paid £100 for 12 weeks , realistically if I pay £100 i know it will make me more committed

I'm doing the free trial still but will pay the £100 for 12 weeks tomorrow.

It's so easy - they do all the meal planning etc and I take their shopping list to supermarket - takes a lot of the work out of it.

The food is great as me the kind of food I like to eat - just smaller portions.

I feel like I can abandon myself to the process and do what I'm told 😁. I'm also doing their exercises & daily meditation.

Love love loved the online version! If I need to I’ll do it again. Highly recommend it.

Glenthebattleostrich · 02/03/2022 07:18

Try the coconut prawn curry, it is amazing.

Ive been following it for a month and lost a stone (14,7 to 13,7). The first couple of days were tough, although I am used to low carb so didn't get the headaches.

Best tip is water, water then more water! I have mine with lemon, as mint tea and in herbal teas through the day.

Also serve everything with a huge green salad and on smaller plates so you don't feel deprived. Ive just been using recipes from the book and logging everything on my fitness pal.

Have to say, I am really enjoying the plan and feel really good on it. It really works, especially on getting rid of fat around my middle, where I really want it to go, and I've gone from a round apple to curvy hourglass again! My clothes fit nicely, in the next size down 😁

TheAbbotOfUnreason · 02/03/2022 07:24

The Fast 800 cook books also have weekly meal planners, plus the recipes are all easy to cook and very tasty. Each recipe has the calories / fat / protein / carbs calculated per serving. No shopping list though.

JackieWeaversZoomAc · 02/03/2022 07:30

Todays meals. I had the beef for dinner last night so I just need to heat the leftovers for lunch.

You can set each meal for how many portions you make and it automatically adjusts the shopping list - so when it's something the kids will eat I add more portions to the planner. Clever.

Hi - just butting in - is the one where it’s 800 every day or some days per week?

I’m tempted but I get very hangry!!

waltty · 02/03/2022 18:41

From what I have read it is between 800-900 every day

Scottishflower65 · 02/03/2022 20:07

You can supplement with their protein power too to help get the protein in without going over the 800.

JackieWeaversZoomAc · 03/03/2022 21:36

The Fast 800 is 800 cals every day for up to 12 weeks. It's designed for people who have a lot of weight to lose.

JackieWeaversZoomAc · 03/03/2022 21:40

Another winning recipe tonight with this chicken and vege dish. I'm so impressed with the recipes. Really tasty food I would eat if not trying to lose weight.

I had a headache last night and a mild one tonight. But otherwise I'm feeling good and also feeling less hungry (day 4).

They have other menu options- vegetarian, keto & keto vegetarian.

I'm just doing the default one - some meat dishes & also vegetarian dishes. Which is how I eat anyway just minus the carbs. And the snacks. And gin. You get the picture.

waltty · 03/03/2022 21:46

I love a good zero carb gin 😀😀

I did it 3 times a few years back. I lost weight but it absolutely destroyed my metabolism. (Back then there was no guidance on protein and as a veggie I clearly didn’t get enough). Sad

JackieWeaversZoomAc · 07/03/2022 17:05

week 1/12 done and I'm 2.4 kilos lighter!

How are you getting on?

waltty · 07/03/2022 18:16

Week 1, lost 2kg , I have not been hungry , also test urine most days and it has been negative for ketones, at the back of my mind I think they may be a year old and out of date, as , the colour of the stick does not look negative either, think they will go in bin tonight.
The fast 800 recipe book arrived today so that will be my bed time reading. My motivation remains high Smile

I'm on this diet - it's going well, I've lost about 5lbs in a week. But I am really hungry! Does this mean I am not in ketosis?? or it is just because I am hardly eating anything like as much as I used to eat?

MushroomHunter · 06/04/2022 22:25

I got the book and started at the beginning of the week. I lost weight a few years back on low carb and this time I need to lose about 20lbs.

I have a severe headache to the point I feel nauseous but I think that’s maybe I sign I am
Entering ketosis. I also have the sticks so I will check again tomorrow. Just hoping that I don’t mess up at the weekend as I find it difficult to stick to 800 calories.

comfortablyfrumpy · 12/04/2022 09:26

For those who've done this, how easy is it to fit fast 800/very fast 800 with other family members? I cook for 1 or 2 (fussy) teens (depending on whether at uni or not) and an elderly dad. Teens particularly would live on carbs if they could.

I have 3 stone to lose, well 2 would be a good start and 3 would take me back to where I was pre menopause.

I've ballooned especially since starting mirtazapine and need to shift this, I feel awful and just can't fit into anything.

comfortablyfrumpy · 12/04/2022 09:29

I've just ordered the Fast 800 easy and Fast 800 keto books...

What targets is everyone setting?

Is 2lb a week realistic?

The only time I've done a serious diet was pre-children, I lost 2 stone and it took me 4 months (I think) on WW but I don't think that's a terribly healthy diet so would rather try this.

That's amazing, well done! I am wondering what target to set, maybe I'll up it and go for 3lb a week at first.

I'm also likely to be very hungry. I've got into a snacking habit and it's not good.
