Leanandlaughing · 26/07/2019 11:04

BloomedAgain · 26/07/2019 11:29

Yes. I needed to lose weight after a medication caused gain and I'm in same position again..I'm also looking at fast800 for health benefits of intermittent fasting, but I can see how they'd work together

Leanandlaughing · 26/07/2019 13:06

I tried tje fast 800 but I was starving! I like the eating to satiety.. i did a quick count on myfitness pal and didnt get to 1000cals..., i am going to stick with it to the plan so I don’t over restrict - looking at those who stuck to it it works Grin like any diet if you stick to it- love the idea of being able to eat what I like ongoing.. except Protein Thursdays...

If you are going to do it we can team up !

AntHilda · 26/07/2019 18:50

Can I join? I've been doing this for 2 weeks. Lost 6lbs on attack phase, now on cruise. My weight hasn't shifted this week but need some encouragement!

Leanandlaughing · 26/07/2019 20:02

Absolutely well done on 6lbs ..
It might come off in a whoosh

I have another 15lbs to lose, I'm happy if that comes off slowly but admittedly I've had a couple of slices (albeit small slices Sad) of cake this week due to a birthday celebration but mostly I have been good.
Im eating fat free yoghurt with the oat bran which I found easily in both tesco and Asda. Then I'm having eggs cooked in various ways, chicken and a lot of fish. I'm also drinking countless cups of coffee. I should really drink more water and I'm not doing the necessary 20 mins walk a day, I just can't find the time most days. And this high protein malarkey has left me with little energy beyond being a parent and running a house.
Good luck to you both, I hope the pounds drop off for you.

Leanandlaughing · 27/07/2019 07:48

Well done I have another 18 lbs to go but a three week holiday with out her people coming up in France - so it will be challenging I am going to do mostly protein and a little veg with a glass or two of wine and then straight back in track but two weeks til I go to get a significant chunk off ...I am going to up my chicken intake and get more ready stuff to snack on other wise it’s all Total 0% yoghurt... I should reach target on 22nd of September but aiming for 22nd of October...
Keep up the good work and congrats so far!

I dropped another pound yesterday but regained it after a little indulgence yesterday. I didn't go crazy just wine and a meal which included carbs. I enjoy the diet though and I'm confident I can continue to lose weight if I stick to it the way I have these last couple of weeks. I'm planning to have boiled eggs and salad for supper later and have been for a run this morning so hope that helps. I want to lose another pound or 2 at least this week! Mostly I am drinking coffee to keep me going. Must remember to keep up my water intake mind. Keep going @Leanandlaughing Wink

Hi ladies. I have done the attack phase of the Dukan diet off and on three times. Always lost around a pound a day and kept it off. Overall loss of a stone and a half over a year or so (had 2 st and a half to lose), doing calorie counting or not dieting at all in between.

The attack phase works very well for me as I feel so full and all the cravings vanish. Also my tummy goes completely flat which is lovely Smile However the oatmeal is not enough fibre for me. Also as soon as I reintroduce vegetables my cravings return. So I cannot stay on this diet medium term but for some reason the weight I lose with it doesn't come back. The weight I have lost with calorie counting comes and goes.

I am meaning to do a few days of attack phase soon. Don't want to do it just now as we are visiting PIL and MIL (obese) always comments on everyone's eating. But I might join you in a week or two. I know a lot of people like to diss this diet but it's the only thing that's worked for me!

Leanandlaughing · 28/07/2019 22:36

Come and do Attack with us when you are ready .. I tend to just eat veg with my evening meal to kill cravings.. because they make me hungry like you .. I also use psyllium husk and smooth move tea if I need to.

Best of luck both maybe more joiners at some point..

No loss today , but I could feel it... keeping on - tried some homemade smoked salmon quiche muffins and some attack friendly biscuits ...made with oatmeal...

Hope all going well with you guys.. keep going goal in sight....

Roll on a weight loss by the end of the week

AntHilda · 29/07/2019 18:50

No loss here, no gain neither thank goodness. Felt as though I'd fell off the wagon after indulging slightly but I'm back on it today. I've done pv day, had salad and fish, low fat yog and oatbran and 2 boiled eggs. Drank plenty water and a few coffees. Now I just need to zip my mouth up until tomorrow Grin.
The goal is deffo in sight!

Leanandlaughing · 30/07/2019 12:34

How are you getting on @Leanandlaughing? I've had a busy week and have managed to stay on track, lost 2lb but put another 1 back on this morning 🙄 (bottle of wine last night and some white rice). Anyhow, I'm enjoying the diet and feel I am consuming much more nutritious food now. I've also taken up running and my willpower to stay off the chocolate has held firm!

Kirstyms · 07/09/2019 09:13

Hi I just thought I'd jump in on this and share my experience..
After 3 babies in 5 years I was at my heaviest and very unhappy with myself I had done the dukan before so one morning without even thinking I decided to start the dukan again best decision of my life I've lost 3 stone in a year and a half... Still currently on the cruise phases as I'm due to get married next year so want to lose that bit more to feel confident on my big day but hang in there it's the best diet I've come across that actually shoe results fast stick to it u can do it.. X

AntHilda · 07/09/2019 21:02

Well done @Kirstyms! That is a fantastic loss!
I also got to a point where I was desperately unhappy. I cried at the lack of will power, the shape of my body that I just couldn't get used to and the endless cycles of binge and fast. I read this book and the following day it kick started a change for me. I lost the initial water weight and started logging on mfp. I caved to the pressure from family about the lack of nutrients and have now started to do very low carb. I'm still losing and have reached a target that I've not seen on the scales for almost 3 years. I still do pure protein days and every other meal includes heaps of veg/salad. It has not been difficult, infact, I think reading dukan's book and really looking at what carbs and sugar did to my body finally helped me understand why I have held onto this weight for so long.
I've lost almost a stone in 6 weeks (could have been more but occasional cheat meal and bottle of wine)
Good luck with your journey.

AntHilda · 07/09/2019 21:03

Any tips for meals are welcome @Kirstyms Wink

Kirstyms · 07/09/2019 21:29

Even tho u have that loss I still struggle my kids are my focus when I have a bad day I think look how far I've come and the nergy I have when I feel like I really need something sweet I go Greek fat free yogurt sprinkled with sugar free jelly it's really sweet and kicks the sugar craves to the curb ant hilda I too have held on to this weight for too long it's time for change and we can do it feel free to keep going I this thread with tips and encouragement :)

Thereshegoesagain · 07/09/2019 21:46

A couple of years years ago I lost over 3 stone in 4 months doing dukan.
It really worked for me, no longer do I buy/eat 4 packs of Mars bars and scoff the lot, I don't buy the huge bags of crisps anymore. If I've had a heavy carb day I follow it up with a heavy protein/low carb day. It took a while the chocolate monster in my head to go quiet (ISH) but it did.
I'm just doing 3 days attack right now followed by a couple of weeks of cruise to shift the extra pounds I gained during the summer ( got a bit carried away).

The things that stuck in my head from the book is firstly that this is the diet for cheats. You can't cheat, you either follow the plan or don't, you can eat as much as you want of the food on the lists but NOTHING ELSE. I'm a member of a couple of FBK groups which are useful, but also full of people trying to cheat. Just stick to the list. It's boring, you start to hate eggs, but in a few short months the difference is incredible.
The second thing I took from the book is that you are at you most vulnerable at the end of cruise, your body has used its fat reserves and the second you introduce fats and sugars back into your diet your will try to replenish these fat reserves. That's why consolidation us so valuable.

AntHilda · 09/09/2019 12:12

Weight has stayed the same this weekend and plan to lose another 2lb this week. I have a party to go to very soon and have a lovely dress to wear. I want to be comfortable and not bloated. Doing PV today and pp tomorrow. Have also started doing 20 min exercise videos.
I'm drinking lots of green tea and lots of squash.
I'm eating Muller light greek style yogurt in skinny latte flavour (delicious), and a little bit of oat bran with that.
I eat lots of fish and sometimes put a dollop of tartare sauce on the side but everything is weighed and logged on mfp. I also enjoy scrambled eggs or omlette I'll do this with butter.
I also have a lot of chicken salad or sometimes just a plate of chicken which I grill on the George Forman grill. I roll up slices of chicken (packet slices) with a tiny bit if coleslaw ( don't think this is allowed on dukan but what the hell).
I try to ensure most of my plate is protein although I am starting to worry about my cholesterol with the amount of eggs i have.

Kirstyms · 09/09/2019 13:18

Hey ant hilda
So with the omlette and scrambled eggs could u try do it without butter coz that could be a downfall with dukan it's all or nothing as thereshegoesagain states u can have as much as u like with the foods allowed not coleslaw or tartar sauce or butter but I'd this helps for you and your still losing then fine.. But I found I was using oil and eating marshmallows and I kept staying the same took them away and I started losing again. :)

AntHilda · 09/09/2019 15:55

@Kirstyms hi, yeah I've tried cooking the eggs other ways without butter and I just dont enjoy it. The diet is restrictive enough to begin with. I only have the smallest necessary amount which is weighed and logged. I'm having slow and steady losses every week so I feel this works for me. Tbh I could do with reading the book again. I do credit the book for kick starting the weightloss and helping me overhaul my diet though! I do think I could be more strict but feel I'm doing ok in general.
