Yes, I know! Doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun?!

Spreadsheet as usual:

As I said on the last thread, I’m on Jury Service for the next two weeks (hopefully no longer!) hence starting next week’s thread a bit early.

I hope all those who’ve had ‘little blips’ don’t see too much damage on the scales.

I was a bit disappointed this morning having gone up, ever so slightly, for the second consecutive week. I can probably pinpoint where I’m going wrong though…the fruit is creeping back in.. albeit only a spoonful of frozen nectarines to give the FFGY a bit of a lift…but it’s every day.

I am definitely feeling better though, and sleeping better, so it is a KOKO job. I’ve been to the actual gym as well for the first time in years, so if I can keep that habit going I’ll be very pleased with myself.

BIWI · 09/02/2026 19:47

@mumsandaunties you really need to avoid the nectarines - if you look at the fruit carb counter on the spreadsheet, you can see that they’re in the red zone.

If you need to ‘lift’ your yoghurt, try raspberries or strawberries instead.

Have a notion that someone has very kindly sorted out things that needed sorting out in the spreadsheet.

Thank you very kindly, your help much appreciated.

I hardly dared show my face in here today actually. There was an ‘episode’ Sunday night involving several albeit small tubs of ice creme. I know It isn’t big and it isn’t clever, and very uncomfortable and sorry for myself I felt afterwards too. Back to strict bootcamp today and for the foreseeable.

I know I feel so.much.better for eating low sugar and low starch. Onwards and downwards.

That was me, sorry I'm a spreadsheet nerd so couldn't help myself fixing it!

I had another tiny loss this week but do feel like its slowing down. I'm hoping for a whoosh in the last couple of weeks if I keep this up.

GreenRedBlue · 09/02/2026 19:59

Oh I also made the celeriac dauphinoise at the weekend that someone suggested in a previous thread - that was delish!

FinallyHere · 09/02/2026 20:09

@GreenRedBlue thank you xx

venusandmars · 09/02/2026 21:07

@GreenRedBlue nice to see there's another spreadsheet nerd on here...

I'm on holiday this week. The hotel WiFi and mumsnet seem incompatible so I'm on my phone. And I can't do the spreadsheet on my phone...

My challenge this week will be breakfast (which i often miss). But here there is every imaginable hflc delight - eggs, ham, salmon, yogurt and nuts, veg, salad, pickles... but also many non bootcamp temptations, just sitting there and calling me...

I can make good choices later in the day when I look at a menu - fish, prawns, salad. But when I pick up my coffee and walk past a pile of chocolate croissants... I will resist. I will resist. I will resist.

paulsimonsguitar · 09/02/2026 21:20

Just found this page and wondering what this is from the spreadsheet as it sounds delicious! - 'Vanilla powder from Waitrose - this is pure vanilla pods and seeds ground up, no added liquids etc, so much purer'? I can't see it on their page. Thanks!

Edited

Sorry BIWI, I know nectarines aren't great, but I had a load of them stewed in the freezer that I needed to get rid of to make space so I took them out and put them in the fridge. I only had a small spoonful a day in my yoghurt - however that meant they lasted all week.

I definitely suffer from being a person that hates to waste food. There's a load of frozen plums in the freezer, but I'll leave them where they are. There's also some frozen passion fruit which doesn't appear on the spreadsheet list - though I think from Google that it's about 23g/100g. You only need a teaspoonful to give yoghurt a lift though, so is that permissible?.

InMyLowCarbEra · 09/02/2026 22:44

I’ve recorded Friday’s weight, which I often do, but that means quite a challenge this week removing the rather large ‘blip’ on Sunday when I couldn’t resist French bread with the beef stew I’d made… maybe need to avoid that recipe on bootcamp. Still I didn’t make a blip a fuckit and I’m back on the rules today. Butter chicken and salad for lunch, fish & prawn curry with ts broccoli for dinner. Good water intake. KOKO.

Alwaysploddingon · 10/02/2026 06:35

Good morning. I dropped off, didn't follow the bootcamp. The. Had a stomach bug/migraine, barely ate for 4 days, could only stomach small abouts.of carbs. I've lost weight due to it, but I think I've lost muscle as moving made me nauseous. I'm back on it this week.

Almahart · 10/02/2026 07:01

I made onion bhajis last night and they were fab. Am taking one to work with some tofu and aubergine curry for lunch. Am getting a bit tired of salads. Another recent success is spinach soup with cream and lemon.

BIWI · 10/02/2026 07:35

Low carb ones I presume, @Almahart?!

@mumsandaunties why not try your yoghurt plain? Why do you feel it needs a lift? If it’s about the sweetness, remember that part of Bootcamp is about helping us to ‘retrain’ our taste buds, so that we don’t need to eat sweet stuff (so much).

That said, obviously a teaspoon isn’t going to be the end of the world - and is very unlikely to be responsible for weight gain! What else have you been eating? And have you been keeping your diet high fat, as well as drinking all the water?

However, when I weighed this morning I was up 2 IBS. The bean chilli I had on Sunday plus too much dark chocolate and nuts has caught up with me.

Oh yes, with almond flour. Lovely dipped in yoghurt

CointreauVersial · 10/02/2026 11:03

Where does tofu appear on the carbi-ness scale? Not something I eat often, but I do like it in a stir fry.

(that's a rhetorical question, really - I can look it up!)

CointreauVersial · 10/02/2026 12:48

Answering my own question - looks like tofu is relatively OK. The issue would be cooking it, because my default would be coating it in cornflour (to make it crispy) and/or using a marinade with some sort of sweet element. <ponders alternatives>

Back to today - had an omelette filled with leftover goats cheese for breakfast, now eating a tuna salad with home made coleslaw on the side. I love the John West Infusions tuna pots - just the right size for a single serving, and nice flavourings. Salad leaves have seen better days, though....

TeamToeBeans · 10/02/2026 20:59

I made the salmon laksa again this evening, with an extra chilli. It was good 😊

RightTurnClyde · 10/02/2026 21:11

Sausages and braised cabbage in a creamy sauce tonight. Very tasty but still feeling a bit cabbagy now.

If you had it in small cubes and dried the tofu really well might it not still crisp up a bit @CointreauVersial ?

CointreauVersial · 10/02/2026 22:39

Hmm... I'm sure I can make it work. Will dig out a recipe for next week.

InMyLowCarbEra · 10/02/2026 23:02

Scales going in the right direction this morning. Lunch was leftovers - duck breast with stir fried Chinese greens and some peanut sauce, dinner was creamy pork and chorizo with courgetti made with some roast pork I had in the freezer. This recipe is on the recipe threads attributed to 1stMrsF, (a previous username of mine). Reading my old post reminded me to serve it with grated cheddar which was indeed delish!

mumsandaunties · 10/02/2026 23:06

Posh dinner #1 done.. and I’m afraid I did eat a dessert, though I didn’t go completely crazy.

I didn’t eat any bread, or potatoes. Just mozzarella and tomato salad starter, sea bass and beans…and then…well…let’s not talk about that.

Back to boot camping tomorrow.

RightTurnClyde · 11/02/2026 09:01

Hopefully if it was a posh dinner the dessert was about the quality rather than quantity @mumsandaunties!

My online shopping arrived, with the world's smallest celeriac. I've had Brussels sprouts bigger Sad I should really have ordered two as they have form for doing this.

I'm looking for a good idea to use up slightly too ripe (for me) brie. I could probably eat it on real crackers but when LC-ing I need brie to be fresher and more solid.

BIWI · 11/02/2026 09:05

There seems to be an issue with celeriac recently. While not as small as a sprout the ones I’ve bought recently have all been small.

Just had a delicious lunch.....at Christmas I retrieved the turkey liver from the giblets bag and froze it....just had it pan-fried on top of a salad. I normally do this with chicken liver, but figured it would taste similar; in fact it was nicer and more flavoursome. I realise this wouldn't be for everyone!

venusandmars · 11/02/2026 14:15

@RightTurnClyde I chuck over-ripe brie into broccoli soup.

@CointreauVersial Thanks for the reminderabout chicken livers. I've got some in the freezer and I'm looking forward to doing something with them when I get home from holiday.
