Morning Flowers

I know that for some/many of us, this is actually only week 1, but as there were some valiant people who started last week, it is now week 2!

As ever, here's the spreadsheet

Just a reminder that if you're using your phone/the mobile app, you'll need to download the Google Sheets app to access the spreadsheet. And when entering your data, only add your weight and - for fear that @FinallyHere will have a coronary, don't touch anything else!

Good luck everyone.

Morning all, am embarrassed to say that despite drinking 2.5 litres of water daily, etc, I have put on 2 oz! I am very constipated so hopefully will lose it after a poo!

poorbuthappy · 06/01/2025 09:02

Morning campers!
3lb off since Thursday.
Very happy.

ColouringPencils · 06/01/2025 09:07

Just signing in! If we started last Thursday, are we supposed to wait until this Thurs to weigh ourselves, or do it today?

BusyFrizzyLizzie · 06/01/2025 09:08

Place marking after updating the last thread.

I weighed on Thursday and then today to get on the same schedule as everyone else

prettybird · 06/01/2025 09:33

Delighted that even though I only started on Friday (being Scottish Wink ), I've lost 5lb already ShockSmile Down to 12st 5.25lb Grin

A lot of that will be down to the tub of treeselets that I wolfed on Thursday, after most of a bottle of cheap bubbly at the rugby club (dh, SIL and I shared 2 bottles but dh didn't drink much of it Xmas Blush) and the potato scone that came with the breakfast Xmas Blush

I'm now only 2.5lb up from where I got to on Christmas Eve Halo

Onwards and downwards Grin I know that big losses like that won't continue as most of it is water but it's very motivating Smile And today I start the exercise regime that will help with the toning process. Halo

BIWI · 06/01/2025 10:10

@ColouringPencils it's entirely up to you when you choose to record your weight. Just as it's entirely up to you when you weigh! Some of us are daily weighers, some just prefer to weigh once a week.

My very old scales are hovering between start weight and a lb off ,
I'm taking that loss !

BIWI · 06/01/2025 10:13

At the start of this new thread, please can I put in a plea for good thread etiquette?

Please read all the posts on a thread, rather than just jumping in with your own post. It's very obvious when someone hasn't bothered to read stuff, and it's pretty galling when time/effort has gone into providing information and answers!

TIA Flowers

Morning all! Starting properly today but glad to report that I'm 3lb down from the 1st - still a stone more than my lowest weight this time last year and a stone and a half more than I need to be to be at a healthy BMI............
Have quite a few social things planned this month which is unusual so will have to work out have to manage those as temptation will be rife!
I have eggs to use up today so will be making a big omelette for brunch, and dinner will be burgers - bunless for me - with lots of salad. DH is pretty on board with this woe but a naked burger is anathema to him 😂. Will be lots of herbal tea rather than water as it's flipping freezing and still snowy here.

LCagain · 06/01/2025 11:00

Well done everyone! I'm happy to be back down to a pre-Xmas level.

Floralnomad · 06/01/2025 11:03

I’m down a lb since Thursday , happy with that . Hope everyone has a good week .

... not that I'm suggesting we all switch to eating dried halibut and whale jerky Grin

I am jumping in and I think I have added myself to the spreadsheet appropriately at the bottom - let me know if not and I’ll remove it.

Back to work today and have eaten my leftovers of salmon in lemon ginger miso glaze already - whoops! Heading out to get some egg mayo in a bit and having baked tofu and green veg for dinner. I find the biggest problem with starting low carb again is waiting for my appetite to dramatically reduce.

Drinking a flask of warm water to fend off the cold.

absolutely loved the Inuit/greenland article.

Almahart · 06/01/2025 12:29

@Finallyhere I darent add a new line to the spreadsheet, would you mind adding me on?

QforCucumber · 06/01/2025 13:22

the salmon early lunch sounds lovely @Butthistimesticktoit

Well done @TheOnlyMrsW it's great just knowing the water retention is gone isn't it?

First day back at work today for me after 2 weeks off, Have polished off 1l water already and did the first day of the 7 day yoga with adrienne recommended on Week 1, feels so good to get back into early morning stretching before the house wakes up.
I started back on BC on the 2nd so am using Thursdays as my logging date but daily weighing as I like to log the trends in the Happy scale app (recommended on here a couple of years ago I think and its fab!) 1.5lbs according to today.

It's been egg heavy so far today - 2 scrambled with butter and feta and a dash of double cream for breakfast and then an egg mayo and streaky bacon salad for lunch, trying to use up the last bits and pieces of things in the fridge as hate waste.

We have sausages for tea tonight - 3.9g carbs for 2 sausages, but not sure what to have with them - kids want Yorkshire puddings so I think I'll be just broccoli and cauli cheese using up some scraps of red Leicester and gruyere that we have lingering in the bottom of the fridge.

NewYearOldCold · 06/01/2025 13:28

Holding onto my 'stone below' weight. 4.5lb more will see me at 'overweight' BMI.

Aiming for my 4th exercise class of the 'week' today. Wondering if I can up it to 5 but that would mean a 6.45am class because I work 3 long days per week. Confused I do a mixture of spin and body pump which is weights.

Was super hungry yesterday so I ate lots.

Lunch: Roast beef (in a gravy that probably wasn't low carb, but was using up leftovers) and cauliflower for lunch.

Dinner was the same with an added bowl of broccoli & Stilton soup. The beef is finally finished!!!

Today lunch was a MASSIVE bowl of broccoli & Stilton soup with lots of chopped cauliflower added to it. One tub to go and that will be finished.

Need to put the chicken thighs on to roast for dinner. I buy massive packs and then reheat for a few days. I am cooking mainly for myself (my DS has a very different diet to me) and I'm happy to eat repetitive meals. I find it easier than deciding what to cook every day - this way I eat proper food rather than using cheese, nuts or cottage cheese as a meal.

Anyone suffering with constipation - I find a strong daily magnesium and Vit C supplement helpful.

My favourite and most satisfying treat if you ever fancy a take away is a Five Guys burger in a lettuce “bun” (which is an easy option if ordering on deliveroo). Amazing….

Iheartmysmart · 06/01/2025 13:51

Whale jerky is a step too far for me!

Hopped on the scales this morning and was pleased with a 1.5lb loss since last Thursday. The biggest difference though is in how I feel. I’ve actually got some energy and my mood is so much more consistent. Think the constant sugar spikes with my old eating habits were affecting me more than I thought.

B - yogurt
L - hard boiled egg, ham, cheese, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and salad
D - pan fried chicken breast in chorizo, mushroom and cream sauce with veggies

Halfway through my water and had a couple of green teas and one coffee with cream.

lastchancesalmon · 06/01/2025 14:54

Starting today and feeling inspired and encouraged by those of you already doing so well! Hideous numbers on the scales - definitely need this.

Back to school for me and immediately hit a problem as the lunch the kitchen had made for staff inset was battered fish and chips! So I've launched into an unplanned long fast. On the bright side, this is working very well for water consumption and I'm already well into my 3rd bottle of water and my 4th herbal tea.

Tomorrow's menu is hot dogs Confused so definitely need a packed lunch. The plan for dinner tonight is the very very last of the Christmas ham and fried eggs with chips for the carb eaters and some salad for me - I think I have the ingredients for a coleslaw so that would be useful as it will perk up my lunchbox tomorrow too.

BitOutOfPractice · 06/01/2025 14:57

Hello! Found the week 2 thread!

This is so encouraging to read - everyone seems to be doing so well. It's really motivating! I am 2.8lbs down on 2 January. Chuffed as chips with that. Sorry, I mentioned chips!

@Iheartmysmart I ate whale meat when I was in Iceland (and fermented shark meat) and it was...erm...an acquired taste!

@Lilith666 I was also going to suggest magnesium for constipation.

I had a protein smoothie for breakfast - free at the gym so...I've had a chicken "wrap" for lunch (wrap was a thin omelette which my lovely DP made for me this morning). Tonight it's salmon - don't know what with yet...

RatatatCat · 06/01/2025 15:33

Hey, I'm joining today! (not going on spreadsheet)

Been LC for a while on and off but had a complete 'off' for a good 6 weeks so am looking forward to getting back into it. Getting married in June Grin so looking to lose 4kg and then maintain

Breakfast- 3 eggs fried in butter & MCT oil in coffee
Lunch - tuna, boiled egg, 1/2 avo, tablespoon mayo and spinach
Dinner - will be chicken thigh & broccoli

Water is always my issue so am trying to sip as much as possible!

SunshineInMySprocket · 06/01/2025 16:57

Hi everyone,

A 2lb loss for me since Thursday so very pleased with that. I’ve not been feeling well over the last two days (DH has been very poorly with flu symptoms so suspect it’s that) although still managed to get out for a long walk both days.

I’m going to do a big shop tomorrow as today I ate random things from the fridge and some chicken breast for lunch. I’m doing well on the water front too.

Hope everyone has had a good day!

AIBConsiderate · 06/01/2025 17:05

Tonight's dinner roughly based on this to celebrate buying some air fryer liners from Lidl

. In reality the sauce is one I made over Christmas and froze when I was trying to get rid of vegetables on the turn, so this one will be packed with goodness. And mozzarella and basil to go with.

Worked from my mum's house earlier as the kids are on an inset day. She very kindly made me some vegetable soup from scratch. She likes to do low carb but she will not drop low fat. But needless to say I am feeling quite peckish now!
