Morning campers

Here's the spreadsheet

So this week marks the end of the first half - doesn't time fly when you're having fun?!

Remember that this week is still renowned as a tricky one in terms of weight loss, so if things have slowed down or stopped (or even reversed) for you, don't panic. Just KOKO - remembering the water, fat and veg in particular.

Re the statins @MotherBuckets, I'm not a medic - so if your GP has advised them, it would be irresponsible of me to warn against them (especially with your family history). But as you say, it will be interesting to see what happens as a result of low carbing (although it will be difficult to attribute any improvement to either diet or medication, I suppose). And hopefully your results will be good @Jenasaurus

@JanieRead - apart from the noodles! - why don't you list out for me your menus over the last few days, and let's see if there's something we can spot that might help you

I'm very pleased - another 3lbs off which is a total of 8lbs since the 9th Jan!
Feeling proud of myself as I had an unfortunate evening where I demolished a chinese takeaway (with crackers!) - usually this would have made me give up, but I started again the next morning and have kept going.
Thanks to all of you for your ideas and support. It really does help doing it together...

Hi everyone.

I'm still here and sticking to plan. I couldnt keep up with the threads so I didnt want to post randomly and interrupt the flow of things for everyone else.

I have lost 2lbs this week after a 1lb gain last time, so that's a total of 8lbs loss since 9th of January which I'm very happy with.
Slow and steady wins the race and I'm not feeling deprived at all. I'm finding that some days I'm eating more than others but not going overboard, more like having some greek yogurt with berries after dinner and such but I really dont want to feel like I'm starving myself. I want this to be a life long woe for me as I feel so much better and more in control of my eating this way. If I start to really cut back on foods I'll end up too hungry which could lead to a binge on carbohydrates, then I'll be right back to where I started so I'm taking it easy whilst being mindful of what I'm eating. I had it in my mind that I'd be down to two meals a day IF and while I AM IF (I tend to do 16/8 or 18/6) I'm still at 3 meals a day but that's what my body is happy at so it is what it is.

My skin broke out loads last week but seems to be settling down a little, not sure if it's all the Christmas sugar being purged or what? The rest of my skin looks great inbetween the spots so hopefully they will go soon and I'll be glowing haha.

Good luck in week 4 everyone!

TangledWebOfDeception · 30/01/2023 09:59

Hello everyone! 🌻

It's a lovely day here, the sun is out, and what a difference it makes to the mood of the day!

I've not weighed yet...feeling a little heavy in the stomach so will wait a while. Again, I'm not convinced I've lost - I can usually tell if it's melting away - but as this is a lifelong thing I have to keep it in mind that loss will happen when it happens and there's no rush.

Hope you all have a great day, a good weigh-in or another NSV today, and positive feelings even if the scales haven't moved!

Thanks BIWI.

Coffee and almond milk for breakfast and a couple of times I had 2 slices of the SLC fruit bread (1.5 carbs per slice) and butter. Tuna mayo salad in a SLC roll or sometimes plain. Bacon and eggs and mushrooms. I made two casseroles ‐ one beef , one chicken. Shallots not onions but one did have a few carrots in. I had with roasted celeriac and broccoli. Snacks have been a handful of pecans and cubes of cheese, mixed together with some sea salt. Some FFGY with cream.
I put Hellmans mayo on most things and lots of EVOO.

This morning I had a handful of raspberries with 100ml of Lidl plain kefir (4.4 of carbs per 100ml).

I also love shoogled sprouts but my tummy is just not tolerating them ATM 😔

Apart from Saturday I've been happily LCHF.

BIWI · 30/01/2023 10:21

It could be, @Janieread, that you have an issue with cruciferous veg - veg from the cabbage family, which includes broccoli and sprouts. And also cauliflower. And as PP have said previously, celeriac can cause some digestive issues too - so you may need to avoid these. Try using other veg for a few days and see if your stomach settles down.

I notice that you're snacking as well. Although it's low carb stuff, do you really need to snack? Are you genuinely hungry between meals, or is it just a habit?

I'd be so sad if this was the case as I genuinely love all those veg, but it certainly seems that way. Spinach is awful ATM, I cannot eat it. What veg would be better do you think?

I don't snack every day - the nuts and cheese were on Friday in front of a movie.

Thank you so much BIWI

Janieread · 30/01/2023 10:29

We are having pasta tonight and I would normally have tenderstem broccoli instead but will have courgettes

FinallyHere · 30/01/2023 10:43

Have a good week anyone. KOKO

My weekend NSV was the pleasure of clearing out the remaining size large or extra large from my cupboards.

Weight tends to drop from my bottom half first and only later from <ahem> higher up. A post office and charity shop drop at lunch time should get it all out of the house, too. Hurrah.

p.s. please give me a shout out if you spot any acronyms missing from

the acronyms tab on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Passtheturkey · 30/01/2023 10:45

Well done all on another week completed.

I’m struggling to keep up with the thread but loving all the meal ideas - going to try the almond muffins/bread minus the cheese this week as soon as I get myself organised.

I’ve gained a pound this week and feeling a bit disheartened. Have had a stern word with myself that it doesn’t mean this WOE isn’t working as I have seen it work. Now I’m in the healthy bmi I need to prepare myself for a slower rate of loss and the odd gain but it’s not as much fun!

SpottyBumPony · 30/01/2023 11:03

The farm shop clotted cream with 3 strawberries was delicious. The cream had a but if a milky flavour (which I struggle with as I don't like cows milk) but I suspect that is how it probably should taste all the time.

I didn't get to watch it until 9pm as DH poured boiling water on his hand so I had to take him to a pharmacy (nothing major just a large blister) so will eat lunch later today as I'm still trying IF

Lunch is Leftover Tandoori chicken chopped in to lashings of mayo in little gem lettuce leaves with some toms and cucumber on the side.

Savedmybacon · 30/01/2023 11:05

One weekend off plan. Couldn't seem to stop. 4lbs on. Posting for accountability even though I'm ashamed of myself. Realising I didn't even particularly enjoy a lot of the 'treats' - old habits and all that! Thanks to everyone's posts, back on it this morning and looking forward to feeling better in myself again.

AlhambraQueen · 30/01/2023 11:11

Morning all. I was better at following the plan and guess what? I lost 2lbs. Went out with the family and ended up at Zizzi as we were hungry at 4pm. Not the best choice but nothing else open at that time. Went for the sea bass which was lightly battered and came with Carrots, parsnips or swede? And chips. I just ate the fish.

AlhambraQueen · 30/01/2023 11:15

We did go trampolining beforehand for an hour so hopefully not too much damage. I can jow go bouncing without extra protection !🤫 I've decided I want to be fit by 40 so that gives me 2 years. Just wanna be strong. Well done everyone xx

QforCucumber · 30/01/2023 11:35

Hi all, weighed in and just half a lb off but not at all bothered as actually feeling fabulous!

Been to the dentist this morning for a replacement filling so numb all down the left of my face atm - fabulous.

@SpottyBumPony that tandoori chicken sounds lovely.

Char sui pork burgers for dinner tonight with Pak choi and asian slaw. DH will have a bun. There's chicken burgers on standby for the kids if they don't like them.

LittleMy77 · 30/01/2023 11:40

Just under a pound up, but it’s been a weekend of eating and drinking for my birthday so I’m surprised it’s not more!

SpottyBumPony · 30/01/2023 11:51

Oooh how do you make those pork burgers?

SpottyBumPony · 30/01/2023 11:52

@QforCucumber sorry I didn't quote you!

QforCucumber · 30/01/2023 12:00

I’ll take a photo of the recipe tonight @SpottyBumPony - it’s actually a pinch of nom slimming one, but I’m making it non low fat hah!

Hopeislost · 30/01/2023 12:13

Well AF is here and I am still a pound down which is unheard of! A lot less bloated than I normally am too.

Congrats to all those who lost - and KOKO to all those who are in the week 3/4 lull - stay on track and those losses will come!

Rayna37 · 30/01/2023 12:15

Is it time for a WATER WATER WATER reminder? 4 hrs in the car meant I'm playing catch up but 1litre down already now plus two black Americanos.

Skiphopbump · 30/01/2023 12:32

My weight has been fluctuating quite a bit this week and I in fact recorded a lighter weight mid week. My trousers are looser so that’s a bonus!

Stokey · 30/01/2023 12:45

Thanks for the new thread @BIWI

Slightly disappointing week for me as have only gone down 0.3 of a lb but at least I'm moving in the right direction. I'm also 5 pounds down since the start which I'm happy about - I'd like to lose a stone.

I think I will stop having cream in my yoghurt. I'm not doing very well at eating less dairy as don't eat much meat. I haven't started on nuts or seeds yet ( I generally monster through nuts so am wary) but wonder if they're better than dairy?

Meals today:
B: FFGY
L: roasted cauliflower soup
D: left over roast chicken, celeriac & sprouts

prettybird · 30/01/2023 12:47

I'm only 3/4lb down, to 11st 9 3/4lb - but it does mean that I've now reached my second intermediate target, which is to be under 11st 10lb Smile

Next intermediate target is to get to 11st 8.5lb would mean I think, I'll need to check back I've got to below the weight I'd got to before Christmas.

TangledWebOfDeception · 30/01/2023 12:49

I've had all the water the past 3 days so I'm feeling GREAT on that count! I knew if I could just remember to have that first glass in the morning whilst waiting for the coffee machine, the habit would kick in. Since I'm at home atm I just have to remember to have a glass every time I find myself in the kitchen for whatever reason.
