Low carb breakfasts when you don’t love eggs

Hello, I am looking for ideas for low carb breakfasts when I don’t love eggs. I can eat some egg but not every day. I also don’t feel like Greek yoghurt fill me up and not keen on processed meat like bacon and sausages. Oh and it has to be quick and portion not too big so no leftover curry /dinner. I like porridge but only with honey and trying to avoid sugar.
Is there anything left for me?

Gosh this thread is extremely frustrating, why are several Ppl on here posting about high carb foods like porridge!!

I like to have Greek yogurt or bacon for breakfast

I'm not on a low carb diet (thankfully Blush) but when I've tried to cut down I had full fat Greek yoghurt and berries.. but are berries carbs?
And oats are carbs aren't they?

I find this low-carb bread easy to make. I usually make double quantity and use a standard sized loaf tin.

It's nice toasted with various toppings, such as soft cheese, mashed sardines, eggs, nut butters or just lashings of ordinary butter.

I guess it may not be low carb enough for some, but it's a good substitute for bread for those who miss it.

Yes, there are carbs in berries, but some of them (raspberries and strawberries for example) are low enough to have regularly. Oats are definitely not low carb though!

@80sMum that recipe sounds nice. Do you use Quark, or yoghurt when you make yours?

BIWI · 20/02/2022 13:42

... although it is quite high in carbs.

If anyone else is missing bread I can really recommend seriouslylowcarb bread and rolls

It is expensive, but it's very low in carbs and you genuinely wouldn't believe it wasn't 'normal' bread.

80sMum · 20/02/2022 17:26

@BIWI I use quark. Yes, it's not very low carb, I'm afraid, just low-ish.

@BIWI I've also had success with this recipe for low carb bread, using potato fibre (which is low carb - not to be confused with potato flour, which definitely isn't!)

Unfortunately, it's been much harder to get hold of the potato fibre since Brexit. I used to buy it on Amazon directly from a German seller but it's too expensive for them to send it here now.

There is a seller on on eBay though, if you want to give it a try.
