After getting back from hol on Saturday morning, I have got straight back on BC. My weight is pretty much what it was this time last year and I am now a stone heavier than I was at Christmas, which is incredibly disappointing. I feel dreadful, no energy, wobbly, a mouth full of ulcers and am desperate for some good food.

Yesterday I had:
Late B: scrambled eggs and butter, two slices of bacon and mushrooms fried in butter
L: Bovril
D: chicken curry, made with chick thighs, tinned toms, shallot, garlic, spices, coconut milk, cauli rice fried in butter

I also had half a bottle of red wine we brought back from France, just to finish it off but no more

Today I'm planning:

B: as above
L: probs as above, don't tend to do lunch at weekends, as eat early with DS
D: chicken fajitas in romaine lettuce with peppers (not too many), shallots, avocado, sour cream, little bit of salsa and grated cheddar

I've done a complete plan for the week too and shopped accordingly so there should be no excuses for not sticking with it.

Is that butternut squash soup Stevie? I love butternut squash. Makes great chips.

Übercamp isn't really going to plan.

Yesterday I had

No breakfast
Mushroom omelette for lunch with a sprinkle of cheese
Roast chicken and a tiny taste of the stuffing and broccoli for dinner.

Today
No breakfast
Cheese omelette with leftover chicken (on a separate plate so it wasn't contaminated as it was cold)
Not sure if I'll have much for dinner. Have a staff meeting, my first as Manager, 7-9 and not that hungry just now.
Dh and the dc are having baked potatoes

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 13/09/2016 16:44

Yes ready, butternut squash with some herbs and cream and lots of stock. I meant to ask, has your cousin moved now? One of my best friends is moving away soon and I'm totally gutted, though she's only going to France! Must be a much bigger deal when it's the other side of the world. Hope your meeting goes well also.

Today has gone to plan so far. I'm planning to roast my cauliflower whole to have with my halloumi salad btw. Haven't tried it before. Looks like a nice recipe though.

readyforno2 · 13/09/2016 23:07

His flight was today. My aunt is really gutted. It's so hard, it's an amazing opportunity but the chances are he's going to stay there forever Sad

Although hopefully he's still coming to Mexico (big family holiday, don't know if I said that before. 12 of us going altogether for my grandma's 80th)

Do you have the soup recipe? Wanna give it a go, the ds's eat most soup too so could be handy.

readyforno2 · 13/09/2016 23:09

Did you decide what to wear to the BBQ Chester?

Meeting went better than expected. Thanks For asking Stevie

ChesterDrawers · 14/09/2016 07:06

Not yet Ready. Think I've left it too late now to order something. Will end up wearing something I already have, which is not much as I've been putting off buying clothes til I lose weight for the last six years. My dream is to have a wardrobe full of clothes that I love and fit and suit me - one day...

Still hanging in there, not sure what today's plan is yet as DH going away and I've not really planned but I have lots of LC stuff in so will be fine.

Sad ready. Glad your meeting went ok though.

I had the butternut soup in a restaurant once and then recreated it at home (which makes me sound a lot more skilful in the kitchen than I actually am)!

I cut up a whole butternut squash (I don't peel it, just wash it) and take out the seeds. Then I roast it with some onion or shallot for about an hour. I've recently discovered that baking squash might increase the carbs though, so I might just do it on the stove in future. Then I tip it into a pan with some thyme leaves (this time I had one of those bundles of herbs you find in supermarket. It had lots of thyme and also some sage and rosemary, but the thyme is the most important one I think). I put in lots of water and two stock cubes and let it simmer for a bit, then blend and add double cream. This makes an enormous pan and I think it's not that great on a very low carb diet as there are some carbs in it, so I try not to have massive portions. It is yummy though.

Today's plan is:

Breakfast: fried eggs, coffee and cream

Lunch: roast chicken, avocado and halloumi (I still haven't used any halloumi despite planning to every day)

Dinner: low carb beef bourgignon, cauliflower and broccoli

Snacks: frozen berries and cream (it's going to be hot again today I think so this will be a bit like ice cream)!

Hope everyone has nice days! Chester hope you find something lovely to wear. Asos do next day delivery of you get desperate! I have their prime thing where next day delivery is free. It has paid for itself a few times over I think.

readyforno2 · 14/09/2016 23:02

I'm so chuffed!! 6lb down from last week. Brilliant boost to get me in the mind set!
My friend only lost 2 so hopefully the challenge is in the bag Grin

readyforno2 · 14/09/2016 23:04

Sorry, just caught up.

Thanks Stevie, I think I'll give it a go.

Chester, we will all get there. I'm sure you'll look great in whatever you decide on. Wear it with confidence and a smile. Can't go wrong that way

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 15/09/2016 07:49

Oh that's really amazing ready! Well done! That's made me feel a lot more motivated to stick to it as well.

I haven't weighed myself yet and am holding off till the weekend if I can...

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/09/2016 07:54

Can I join? 7 weeks till my wedding and I have about 7lbs still to lose.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/09/2016 07:58

Been doing "paleo - lite" for a week and a half with good results so far. Lost 3lbs. No alcohol bread pasta or rice or quinoa but I am allowing myself milk (not cheese) and beans.

This morning breakfast was chia pudding (coconut milk) and coffee. Plus some watermelon

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 15/09/2016 08:32

Hi thegrumpy! Congratulations on your wedding! Flowers

I came back to say what my meal plan for today is:

Breakfast: BPC

Lunch: roast chicken, avocado, tomatoes and halloumi (again)

Dinner: no idea! I have some sausages in the freezer but have no idea if they're low carb... Will have a look and might end up fashioning something out of those.

Snacks: small portion of frozen berries and cream or some cheese

I had a sneaky look on the scales as well (there's that willpower of iron of mine on show)... My scales are rubbish, but I think I've lost 2lbs. Maybe 3lbs but I'll err on the side of conservatism. Usually I lose a bit more than that in the first week of low carb, but then I don't usually have a bloody great roast dinner halfway through! Considering that, I'm happy with 2lbs.

readyforno2 · 15/09/2016 11:11

Hi Grumpy, weddings are so exciting! Congratulations Flowers

2lb is fab Stevie, it's in the right direction and they say 1-2lb a week is the best way to do it anyway.

My meal plan for today is...

B fried courgette with double cream
L cheese salad from IKEA
D whichever meat I take out the freezer with broccoli (possibly with double cream/cheese sauce)

I'd forgotten how good haloumi cheese is. I keep finding excuses to fry some up!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/09/2016 13:38

My lunch!

Starting again, again, again...
SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 15/09/2016 14:06

Looks good Grumpy! I ate mine far too quickly to photograph it Blush. I was really hungry after a swim and sort of fell upon it like a wild beast! It was pretty yummy though and I'm really full now.

ChesterDrawers · 15/09/2016 15:33

Well done on the losses Ready and Stevie, I'm still stuck at 11 2.4 so looks like I might have to ditch the cheese again. I've not been having much but did have a fair bit yesterday. Damn you, French holiday cheese.

Congrats on the wedding Grumpy, 7lb in 7 weeks should be well doable. Feel free to join in the with the chat Smile

Been in an all-day meeting with catered lunch so just had a cup of camomile tea. Demolished four little eggy muffins as soon as I got back to my desk cos I was starving!

OP posts:
TheGrumpySquirrel · 16/09/2016 06:49

I'm a little heavier this morning, about half a kg (anyone else use kg?) which I guess is 1lb or so, trying not to get disheartened as the trend is in the right direction!

Breakfast - chia pudding & coffee

Not working today so really happy! Esp in this rain

readyforno2 · 16/09/2016 09:10

Still working in lb here I'm afraid Grumpy. But you're right. There's 2.2lb in a kg so maybe 1lb. But to be honest, don't worry about it too much. You will find you will fluctuate between 1-2lb a day.

readyforno2 · 16/09/2016 09:33

Yesterday was a pretty good day food wise..

Today,
B - leftover roast chicken
L - cheese and shallot omelette
D - courgetti Bolognese

TheGrumpySquirrel · 16/09/2016 11:18

Beetroot salad and fried eggs for lunch
Dinner will be halloumi and broccoli
( Yesterday's was mackerel, butternut squash noodles and avocado - yum!)

TheGrumpySquirrel · 16/09/2016 11:19

I can't believe how little I miss bread
I mean
I miss the idea of bread
But I don't physically crave it anymore

Could live without rice/pasta forever, it's meh

readyforno2 · 16/09/2016 12:48

I'm the opposite, I don't miss bread at all.

Pasta and spaghetti, on the other hand...

The two things I miss the most is baked potatoes and beans.

ChesterDrawers · 16/09/2016 17:44

Had a little wobble last night, but thankfully the scales were ok this morning. Will probably bounce up tomorrow now in punishment! I was tired and hungry and fed up, so fell into the treat drawer. Back on it today...

Plan:
B/L: courgette and feta fritters, hm mayo
D: chicken in parma ham, swede in olive oil, broccoli in olive oil

OP posts:
readyforno2 · 16/09/2016 21:25

Courgette and feta fritters? Tell me more.
Sounds delicious

TheGrumpySquirrel · 16/09/2016 23:36

Ahh Friday night blip - beer and crisps! Back on the wagon tomorrow Blush
