I am in Leicestershire, and have 2 boys aged 6 and 3.

I thought about this last night, and really think that some of the 'end of tether' situations could be made a little less scary if we knew there was someone near by who understands.

I'm Jane - one daughter 7 (nearly 8) we live in a village just south of Bedford,

I'm a member of the Single Parent Travel Club and organise a fair few holidays through the club (we are non profit making - so you just pay the holiday cost - it is not inflated).

We are also trying to get some regular day's out going around MK - there is one today at Willen Lake - one on 28th @ Lincolnsfield Childrens Centre (40's experience).

It's a great club to meet other single parents - although it does cost £10 to join.

We have holidays/breaks in :

North Norfolk - May Day weekend
Majorca Holiday in August
Butlins end of May
Youth Hostel first weekend in June (whitsun)
Peak District - August Bank Holiday

plus 9 families are off to Eygpt at Easter and 4 to Florida.

Plus others - it's a club where you can advertise your own holiday - so if you don;t want to go alone - a great way to find company.

I live in York. DD is 7 years old.

So many of you must be young mums. I feel old now. Other lone parents must have kids as old as mine ; nearly 21 and nearly 19? Or don't use mn maybe?
