@MNHQ Please can this be moved to Lone Parents, there seems to be an issue with the app, all new posts I create automatically go to chat

Just wondering if you are a single mum and on 'good terms' with ex (although still very hurt and slightly bitter Sad), what do you get ex for Father's Day from your DC? DC are too young to decide themselves

My children have always made cards for Mothering Sunday and Father’s Day as I refuse to get caught up in the card buying culture. They still make them now at 17 and 15 and really do put some thought into it. Ultimately re buying gifts for ex’s - you are teaching your children how to behave and once they are older your job is done. It doesn’t take much a couple of bars of chocolate etc

Before you dig your heels in

It’s once a year! Why make a bloomin drama about it? And you don’t once mention the kids stance on it. I buy expensive whiskey and chics for my ex. Why? Because I know he loves whiskey and choc? No! Because my children love the giving.

Whilst we were on friendly terms I always made sure he got a shop card, home made card, something off me (like his preferred drink Or a frame with a pic of them together in it but mainly something he could keep if he chose to)and a little gift DD had chosen like a mug or fridge magnet.

Sadly we are no contact now so we don't buy for each other.
