Anyone had a DNA through CSA?

Just wanted to find out people's experiences really.

My ex has been contacted by CSA & has denied being the father

We now require a DNA so just wanted to find out a few things.

Yes I have . It's done through cell mark . They will write to you to let you know how and where you can donate samples and you will need to book an appointment with your chosen clinic

Will they take a picture of my ex?? I'm worried he'll get someone (DB who looks like him to go for him!).

I want to be able to verify it's him if the test came back negative!

I had the same worry but everything is verified. You take passport size photos and whoever is taking the samples certifies the identity . Je won't be able to fake it . It is a criminal offence as the results are accredited by the ministry of justice and he pays for it too .

I guess the photos have to be recent then??

I just want to make sure he can't try & get out of this.

He won't if he's got any sense . Just get you and your dc passport photo ready . He still has to pay maintenance until the test results are out no matter how long it takes

How do I manage to get a photo of a 6 week old baby??

I have read that I can dispute the test if I'm not happy with it so if it comes back negative then I will appeal it solely because unless I'm the Virgin Mary then he is 100% the father.

He doesn't have to pay anything yet as he disputed it before calculations were made.

You can take the baby to a place where they take pictures for passport they will be able to take them . I think it's two but they will specify how many when they get in touch. I was receiving maintenance before the test was done and all through until the results and the maintenance was re calculated.
Mine denied our ds too even though he knew he is the spitting image of him 🙄. You can dispute it if he does any foul play . Hope it all goes well

My X disputed it too as soon as they got in touch with him but he still had to pay and if the results came back negative I would have to pay it all back

It's funny because he sent me an email 2 weeks before saying he was happy to pay but he just didn't want any contact with our son (he's got a new gf who I assume doesn't know).

Then CSA contacts him & he disputes paternity!

Il get the photos done today, annoying because it's £5 for 4 that's 2 lots! Too bad I can't get it refunded by my ex once the test comes back as me being right! Yet again

My ex said the same thing but added that he wanted a DNA test which was fine by me as I had nothing to hide . His new gf don't want him to have anything to do with our ds so he can play daddy to her dc (who is not his and the child has contact with their biological father) and he has never seen our ds.
It is hard when you know you have nothing to hide and they want to make you look bad .

My baby is 6 weeks & he hasn't even attempted to meet him.

I'm intrigued to know if he'll go ahead & pay the fee for the DNA.

How long was it until it all got sorted??

He requested for it so he has to pay for it and it isn't cheap.

Once they receive all the samples it should be within five working days to get the results. You get a copy , he does and the CSA does get one too .
The faster you all submit the samples the quicker it will be.

How long until they send the letter to tell me where to go once ex has paid??

They are sending him a letter Monday to tell him he has 7 days to pay for DNA or they will assume paternity & calculate what he needs to pay.

I didn't get to know when he paid . When I first contacted them they made a calculation and started paying . Then called me to let me know ex wants a DNA . I think about a week later I received a letter from the DNA company instructing me to submit samples with a list of specific places I can go and what I need to take with me .

I picked a clinic rang up and booked the appointment and we submitted the samples. It took a while for me to get my results because ex 's work took him all over the place and letters were sent at the wrong address.

But I got the results within days after he finally submitted the sample. And he still paid even though the results weren't out yet .

Even though it's proven he's the father, he still doesn't want to know your DS??

Yes unfortunately so 😕. I feel very sad for my ds

Has he ever met him??

It is sad, I feel the same for my DS, all because my exdp hates me, he doesn't want to see his own DS & because he couldn't possibly risk his new relationship

No not to my knowledge. DS has asked about him a few times before but hasn't for a while which is good because I don't know what to tell him 😕.

XP said I was too much drama for his new family because I asked him to be a part of DS's life . It is what it is but hopefully your XDP will have a change of heart and decide to see his DS

My ex didn't even give a reason.

His words via email 2 weeks ago "I want nothing to do with you or your baby".

Does your ex pay you direct?? Or is it through collect & pay??

He pays direct through CSA and I like it that way . He asked for the first time when he was about 3 (he is five now) . He would ask things like where is daddy, I want him to read me a bedtime story when is he coming ?☹️ and I wouldn't know what to say so I try and distract him with other things but it broke my heart every time . He hasn't asked for a while now .

My ex will be paying me direct CSA said they have to give him the chance first??

Aw that's so sad! I guess il do the same with my DS, children can easily be distracted

It is sad but obviously I will have to tell him something if he asks when he is older ( not looking forward to it) . When they are young it is easy to distract them .

Well, he paid the DNA test fee today, I am pretty shocked! I thought he'd find out how much and then ignore them

Atleast he can't accuse you of anything after he's got the proof and will hopefully want to be in his DS life .

I guess I'm glad about that, that no one could ever come forward an accuse me of cheating on him or whatever.

I managed to get my doctors to agree to do the sample so I'm having it done on 22nd.

I imagine he'll still not want anything to do with our DS but to be fair, I've gone past caring now, I just want what he's responsible for paying & then that's it, I don't want to hear his name ever mentioned again, especially in front of my DS
