Pann you have hit the nail on the head. You posted about a parenting problem. That makes you like the majority of us. CM's "mistake" was to post on a chat thread and instantly start chatting to those who responded.

I don't mind either way CM. I am just pointing out what made your introduction to MN a bit different to Pann's.

FWIW, when I joined MN, I jumped straight in with my problems but maybe I was badly brought up!

I mean just that as a male you just cannot assume that your intentions/attitude/expectations will be seen as other, women poster's, and so it's good to be respectful of this and accept you MAY be under a bit of scrutiny.

I understand you wanted people to get to know you, but perhaps went about it in too direct a way.

TBH I have been PMSL over this thread as it is a typical random pouring of rubbish as usual

ConfidenceMan, I think it is maybe rather unfortunate that you started posting on a day when there has been a long running thread about a car crash type situation when 2 Mumsnet posters got it together behind their spouses backs

also I don't think many people on here venture out into other parts of the WWW and may not realise the whole place is basically one big pick up joint

I think you may have to get a new name, though. Yours, shortened, is CM...which around here tends to mean Cervical Mucus
